How do I safely do an extended fast?
>Take snake juice, or just supplement electrolytes.

I have red rashes on my face that burn when I eat and drink lots of sugar. I have a couple on my back and balls too, and also heavy dandruff. Fasting has shut down all of the rashes to the point that the skin has healed and is no longer dry, and of course they have lost 90% of the red color. So.... Yeah. That was a 3 day fast.

Just imagine several 3 day fasts during a year... I feel sorry for my body that I didn't discover fasting sooner.

i'm answered this to another brother in last thread, here's all you need:

Relatively new to /fast/. I’ve been doing 23 hour fasts for two weeks now. Currently the biggest concern I have is my workout while fasting schedule. I usually work out around 5am but don’t eat till 5pm. I’ve read all sorts of responses to this. Protein/eating after workout is broscience myth, I should eat something/drink my protein shake, I should move my workout (not really possible atm), I should move my meal (not really possible atm), some claims that people have made more gains with OMAD diets despite how long after their workout they eat, some claims say they break their fast after the workout and then start fasting again (I may be uneducated on the subject but that no longer sounds like fasting if you break the fast). I’ve been working out for 5+ years so I feel pretty confident in my workout. I also do two days of HIIT a week. I’m not a dietitian, nutritionists, or anything of the sort that is why I’m asking questions. Feel free to ask me any details that would help better answer my question. So, is it counterproductive to leave a 12 hour window between my workout and my meal.

I'm doing it this time boys, I've been here since March last year and haven't lost an inch. Haven't gained anything either but that's not something to celebrate. I'm gonna fast for 30 fucking days until my birthday on February 21, I don't wanna be a >100kg lardass on yet another birthday.

Don't be an idiot. Do OMAD first, get that down, make it a habit. If that's too hard to intermittent until you've shaved it down to OMAD. After that do one meal every other day. After that do one meal every third day. If you try to do a 30 day fast without having any experience fasting, you're most likely going to fail. You need to train your willpower by progressively ramping it up.

or do like me and go straight from being a fatty to a 2 day dry fast followed by a prolonged water fast that's still going

If he's been since March and hasn't done anything yet, then he has weak willpower. He needs to train that and the best way to do that is to do it progressively.

I'm not new to this, only reason I failed was because I didn't want to endure going without the taste of food. I'm fat adapted and never get hungry or tired on fasts. It was always about boredom and missing the taste of food.

I've' been fasting 3-7 days randomly for the past month. 2 7 day fast, 1 5 day fast, and a 3 day fast. Eaten maybe 5 or 6 times in a little under a month. Ive had days where Ive eaten maybe 3000 calories. Maybe straight junk food. I've cheated by drinking calorie free drinks (on like 5 days). But Ive also loss 25lbs in about 27 days. Which felt like an impossible goal before. Its too cold to run and bike. And I got so heavy that running was too hard. But Now Im only 15lbs away from my goal.

Probably. Cole does snake juice fasts and does a lot of exercise so you should be fine, but maybe you should ease into it with some shorter fasts.

Your body hasn't ran out of glycogen just yet that's why you feel just fine. Going into ketosis is where you'll notice some discomfort.

1lb fat/day is too optimistic for most of the population. 1lb fat contains around 3500 kcal, so you'd have to be quite big to lose that in an average day!

Its not that bad. 1lb of fat is about 40-60% fat so you only have to use about 1700 calories to lose 1lb. That water weight you lose with that 1lb won't come back because the fat it was stored in is no longer there.

I've done water/SJ fasts several times in the past lasting up to 7 days, but are there any special precautions I should take coming off 48 hours dry?

tfw 218lbs december 30. tfw 193lb right now. Feels good gents. I didn't realize that I was over 210 until halfway through december and was always putting off getting back to 185lbs. No more love handles, 34" pants fit again. People constantly asking me how I lost weight so fast. Fasting saved my life. Anything else I can do to speed up this last bit of fat.

Don't give up socialising with friends during a fast. As long as you explain you can still hang out. I actually went to the bar with a few friends the other day with a bottle of snake juice and there was no problem. Obviously it depends on the bar and your friends but if you don't be an autist explaining the fast you should be fine.

in general the fatter you are when you start the more weight you lose. But eventually it'll pan down to less and less weight lost a day per week. Best to focus on your body fat percentage than weight at that point because you're still losing the same amount of calories

Buddies ordered/cooked pizza, wings, there were cookies and scotcharoos, beer, shots, and popcorn at the football game tonight. None of it even tempted me. All the smells and sights and it really didn't register to me that I could or should want to eat or drink anything there. Feels odd to be frank.

Because your body will spend more claroies digesting it than it bas it. It still isnt fasting. Your body will be processing that. You'll be very calorie deficient, but miserable with none of the benefits of pure fasting
