I've been told I have long femurs. You can "shorten" your femurs by sticking your knees out further, changing the angle. When you look from the side your femurs look shorter than if they weren't angled.

wrong. I went to a bjj gym for a couple of weeks and held my own with just brute strength even though I had no idea what I was doing with blue and brown belts. Only after like 5 minutes would I probably lose because again, I had no idea what I was doing. If given time, money to do it for training I could easily wipe the floor with them in 30 seconds. Grappling is finding the perfect mix of strength, speed, and technique.
