What is /fast/?

How do I safely do an extended fast?
>Take snake juice, or just supplement electrolytes.
>Water=2L
>Potassium chloride =1 tsp (No Salt)
>Sodium chloride = 1/2 tsp (Himalayan Pink Salt)
>Sodium Bicarbonate = 1 tsp (Baking Soda)
>Magnesium Sulphate = 1/2 tsp (Food Grade Epsom Salts)

god damn im 102 hours in and i woke up just now from having some fucked up dream of ruining my fast with a bunch of fast food and soda. the food addiction is real

great progress !

progress is good, but i'm staying carefully optimistic, Dr. Fung says 0.5lbs of fat loss per day on average is the norm, if that's true in my case then a whole lot of this weight is coming back once i go back to food

Height: 6'4.
Starting Weight: 137.7 kg / 303 lbs
>1 month of strict keto.
Weight: 133.8 kg / 295 lbs
>3day SJ fast.
Weight: 132.4 kg / 292 lbs
>3day SJ fast.
Weight: 128.7 kg / 284 lbs
>3day SJ fast.
Weight: 127.5 kg / 281 lbs

Current day is refeed day. Refeeds remain strict keto. Two more 3day fasts and then I'm upping to 6day fasts.

Things I've noticed.
1. Coffee without sugar doesn't break fast/keto, but might upset your stomach. It does kill a wave of hunger though.
2. "Diet" soft drinks like cola, do not break fast/keto, but they will upset your stomach and do not kill hunger.
3. Tea is fine as long as you don't add sugar.
4. If you decide to drink any of the above, keep in mind that they function as diuretics (pissing initiators) and this will cause you to become depleted/weaker. So do it in moderation.
5. Going full carnivore during a refeed, caused me to be weaker in the next fast. Keeping it keto/no carb, seems to be the golden path.
6. Diabeetus has been totally eliminated at least for the duration mentioned above till now. No pills/insulin needed and BG levels are totally normal even during refeeds. This gives a man hope, and causes concern/suspicion about what the mainstream orders us to eat.

Full carnivore is meat only.
Keto/no carb means meat, eggs, cheese, no carb greens and generally anything without carbs.

Not CAPSBRO but this bro. Heart racing is common during fast because of ketosis. Blood pressure is dropped through gluconeogenesis (literally fat burning.) And the loss of minerals.

Solution. Drink your Snake Juice it is absolutely essential to remain in balance.

Good job for your progress. I don't know which app you're using, but keep in mind that fasting yields diminishing returns as time progresses and fat decreases.

Consequently, your total energy expenditure (TDEE) decreases, as your mass decreases, therefore your fat burn/loss also decreases. Seems that Einstein was right all along. Probably could come up with a theorem about a time/space/fat continuum just for keks.

It's a marathon, not a sprint fatbro. Keep it up.

Don't get too lost in the numbers and deadlines, none of them matter. What matters is your lifestyle, which is different now. You'll be tempted to count your days and count your lbs but you want to go to that place where you don't even care about that anymore, you just fast regularly because that's what you do.

The baking soda covers most of the saltiness giving it snake juice a somewhat bland taste, something close to "light earth water" if you can conceive of it.

Besides taste, I also believe the soda being a strong antioxidant, also helps to suppress or greatly diminish hunger as well as greatly diminish inflammation in the stomach and everywhere, allowing for the natural healing and regeneration of the body to commence.

Kind of a really stupid question but will consuming mucus break my fast? Because of the season my nose has been getting a lot more mucus in it\\, does it break my fast or am I gonna have to exclusively blow my nose to get rid of snot

Nah mucus is kinda ok, but you should probably reduce the amount of semen you guzzle to less than a gallon per hour.

i did dry the first 48h, but you don't have to, can just use normal water if you prefer

just make sure you're on the juice around day 3

Is starting a fast after a hard weekend a bad idea? Drank way too much, but was planning on starting one today.

Get on that snake juice ASAP. You don't want to wait until your electrolytes are completely fucked to try and restore them. Hypokalemia in particular is dangerous. SJ is a good preventative measure.

This. The new recipe is much more palatable than the old recipe. I also add quite a bit of Cayenne to mine (1tbsp per 2L), start lower if you aren't a huge fan of Cayenne.

I am 186cm at EXACTLY your starting weight but I cannot accomplish the losses you're getting for the life of me. Last time I fasted 10 days I lost barely 7 KGs.

i carried a decent amount of muscle before i started my fast, was lifting 5 days a week for most of the year and 3 days a week before that, maybe that has something to do with it

This isn't too bad. Much to my surprise it's actually easier than eating normally but with reduced calories. Annoying to eat unsatisfying little meals and then have to go through the hassle of counting the calories of them all ( or eat the same thing all the time which is also annoying ).

Eating 1000kcal a meal which makes for a nice, big satisfying plate.

I started today. I made a very weak fish/miso broth to give me salts in the first 3 days. It's about 50 calories of miso in 5L, so it shouldn't break my fast.

Should I donate blood while fasting? Or I will fuck my body up?

It might be a problem for extended fasting, but IF should cause no issue. Try to do it fed though, preferably 2-3 hours after feeding

if you lift monday-saturday, plan your last saturday meal to be before your gym session, then fast 48 hours until your first meal on monday before working out

I'm not concerned with breaking my fast with a few calories. I want to know if bone broth will give me what I need if I drink it after a 3 day fast so I can continue fasting after and not die, rather than drinking SJ throughout a longer fast.

Bone broth helps my gut and I want to push myself past a refeed if I'm not gonna be sick.

I don't generally think of food while fasting, if anything I just keep my mind on other things to keep the thoughts of it away, or sometimes they just don't come. And if I get too hungry, what I would do would be smell the food and just leave it there, nothing else.

Any user here taking cold showers while fasting? Do you feel any benefits?
I've been doing it a lot recently and I can feel less soggy skin, dunno about you guys.

I watch food videos during the week to get me hyped for my refeeds. I don't even feel hungry during the week anymore.

It's cold as fuck here (Cleveland) so I'm probably gonna make a nice pot roast for my refeed and save whatever I don't eat for subsequent refeeds.

Day 5 on the juice and I do feel hungry. 2 more days to reach my goal, though if I do magically feel those reported bursts of energy I'll continue.

Today I finished my first 48h fast. Impressed on how snake juice takes away any weakness/shaking.
I could have probably extended the fast for 1 or 2 days more but I was thinking too much about food and social gatherings are fucking my plan.

Off work so just relaxing at home in a blanket cocoon. Really starting to see a difference on my stomach. There used to be a little bump you could kind of grab but now it is smoothing out considerably. All the large shirts I just bought that only just began to fit are a bit loose now. Another 25lbs to go so probably be at goal by the end of next month.

I was about 265-ish late july. I'll post a before and after when I hit 150lbs. Most of it was a cross between fasting and low calorie low carb. So not 100% due to fasting but holy shit it did it's fair share. I just looked at my old photos and could not even believe how large I was. I never felt that fat but seeing an actual image is blowing my mind just how big I was compared to now.

If I get a bloody nose and swallow the blood will it break my fast?

You can drink sips. Tried it myself and maintained keto color. The problem is after. After refeed and sips, i found that i had the grumbling in my stomach was stronger than when i didn't have them. I can deal with it, but some probably can't so you are ok if you think you won't binge
