i was planning on 130/162 today but snatching without straps is hard

what do I do if I like doing the classics and think the power and mobility of weightlifting makes it better than powerlifting in terms of strength training for general athleticism, but don't really care about competing and don't really have time for a shitload of tech work? should I just highbar squat and press a lot and do power snatches/cleans when I have time, or what?

Holy fuck my gym's music is so apocalyptically bad, they've been playing screamo covers of 90's rap and it's like a degenerate dick in my ear. It's breaking my concentration and ruining my tek because I can't stop laughing. Right now it's some weedy little kid doing pig squeals to gangsta's paradise

anyone else like to just do really low intensity stuff as recovery? Shoulders were bugging me and I did 3x10 BTN push press with 50, now they feel great.

I used to lift at this gym without many members, a lot of the time I was the only one in there. I'd come in and the manager/owner would come out of his office and say "You want me to put music on?" "No." "REALLY? Are you SURE you don't want some music?" "Yes, this is fine." This went on for days and eventually he started coming out of his office just to put music on without asking if I wanted it and then go back inside.
I fucking hate music
