My chest will start growing once i surpass bw bench, r-right?
My chest will start growing once i surpass bw bench, r-right?
Depends on your BW
If you’re neither obese or anorexic then not being able to bench your own body weight is a health issue, not a strength one.
Don't listen to this guy OP, most people can't bench their own bodyweight.
BW bench is like the very first benchmark for most people to actually show that you are making strength progress. Some changes may already be visible but I'd say you need to get closer to 1.25x bw before any real results are visible.
I just got to squatting my bodyweight, jesus, give me time. I've only been lifting for two months.
Nah ur dumb
do dips and flies if you want a big chest, flat bench engages the front delts way too much.
Why not all of those? I'm doing that on push day + OHP and tricep pulldowns.
>My chest will start growing once i surpass bw bench, r-right?
This is a 340lbs bench press at 215lbs/6'1" user.
There is no hope for us chestlets.
>most people can't bench their own bodyweight
over 70% of the population is overweight or obese, and there are more obese people than there are simply overweight ones.
well i'm not saying don't do bench, its just not going to grow your chest that much. i just stick some high volume dips or flies on the end of bench day.
>215
>6 foot 1
>that body with muscle mass
Nigger go re-measure yourself. You're like 5 foot 10 or something.
I measure myself every 8 weeks when I donate blood.
Depending on what I did the day before I'm between 186cm and 184cm tall. Squatting heavy makes me drop to 185 and deadlifting heavy steals almost an inch.
I'm 5'7, 60kg
Same
Op here
I'm squatting bw + 15kg though
>tfw can't even dl my bw after three months of training
Your chest will grow regardless of what you can bench. Do your flies, OHP, Push press, face pulls, and dumbell pullovers.
No way you're 215
shameful display
Have you tried? I was progressing slowly, then decided to try 110kg and it worked. For reps.
Add volume targeting your chest. Don't just do bench.
Personally I've seen growth doing OHP, bench, and weighted dips in the same routine. Chin ups and rows also hit it as a secondary.
You are actually right, I was 217 in that photo.
217 the day before, 216 for the next few days and wasn't exactly 215 until seven days after that photo was taken.
I've weighed myself twice per day, every day since 2014-07-28.
whats your routine, and are you just doing small amounts of reps? You need to be doing a minimum of ten per set to grow.
Why not 9 or 11?
what to do if benching hurts my sternum for some reason
Haha Lanklets, hop on gear or stop lifting if u are above 6ft
Those rep counts summon a gains goblin.
someone post the study graph
>OHP this morning
>start work weight
>do 5 reps
>I've got one more
>do sixth, fail seventh
>rack bar, rest
>do next set
>can't put up fifth rep
>rest
>put up five
>feel the same after set of six
Six and seven rep counts are truly gains goblins. Never again.
jesus christ you're fat
You're just chubby. I bet you have a pretty big chest beneath that layer of lard
Not obese when I started. I couldn't bench my own bodyweight at 160, 6'1".
>215
>6'1
youre at least 240 fatty
>feet and inches
>metric units
Daily undulating periodization, I'll make it real simple for you, hit chest twice per week
Day one
High Weight BB bench + 2 accessories (flys, incline bench, dip, etc.)
Day two
High Rep DB bench + 2 accessories
It's extremely important that you keep a real rep difference between the two days, day one you should be doing enough weight that you can only get 5 or so reps, day two you're going for 12+ reps
