Been doing stronglifts 3x5 since december, feeling the end of my strength gains, still weak as fuck, to what program do i switch for aesthetics after this? Or should i keep doing it till i hit 1/2/3/4? Btw been on a cut and still making strength gains
>dont want to end up like pic related

keep doing what you are doing then
But im feeling the end of those gains, maybe ill be able to add 5lbs for like the next 2 weeks tops, just want some advice on what to do after that point
Practical programming includes advice for hypertrophy gains. Basically a high volume day is added per week.
I personally alternate 5×5 weighted dips and chinups with 4×10s at bodyweight. It's good stuff.
Troll thread report and hide.
So just keep doing 3x5 or 5x5 on a bulk but add an extra hypertrophy day?
Not really my dude, just tryin to make it like everyone else
Do greyskull, add accessory lifts to areas you want to improve physique wise
eg
Mon/Fri:
Bench/OHP: 2x5, 1x5+ (amrap set: if more than 12 reps double weight increase)
Accessory Lift A/Accessory Lift B (Pick something you want to work on, eg on bench day do barbell rows, press day do weighted chins)
Accessory Lift C/Accessory Lift D
Squat: 2x5, 1x5+
On wednesday/middle day do:
Deadlift 1x5+ (max 10 reps, double increase if reached)
instead of squat
Also for hypertrophy you can also do frequency pushups/pullups which are another greyskull plugin
For this work out your pullup and/or pushup max, and do submaximal sets throughout the day
eg if you can do 20 pushups max, do 5 sets of 10 pushups a day
Progression is 2.5 lbs for upper body lifts; 5lbs for lower body lifts
make sure to progress on plugin/accessory work do, eg increase weight/add reps
For deloading at a stall, decrease by 10-20% and aim to beat your previous amrap sets at the weights you climb back up on.
If you stall multiple times, you can do different ways of building back up. Eg do a variant of the exercise on the way back up.
So if you stall on squat a lot, you can lower the weight and start training front squat instead for a while, once you stall and rebuild a few times on that, go back to regular squatting or another variant and see how your strength as improved. Pick a variant that works on a weak point, or maybe just something you find fun.
Read the book (you can pirate it on b- ok. org) or google "greyskull primer" for more info.
Thanks ill definately look into this man
>Literally another t-rex meme routine lol
Gr8 b8 m8 I r8 it 9/11.
Even without accessory exercises and the bodyweight work, there's more upper body volume than lower body. With added upper body accessory work and the bodyweight work, there's no way you'd end up a t-rex.
A big advantage of greyskull routines is that you don't get the T-Rex physique that SS gives you.
K u can just ignore this thread idc
Are you doing any accessories with SL? Adding dips + skullcrushers on A days and chinups + curls on B days helped me get okay gains for upper body.
I've cycled through SL sevetal times (I've had several breaks from lifting due to sickness/injuries/etc.) but I'm now moving on to either Texas Method or Madcow5x5. I'm leaning slightly more to TM but I have to work on my power cleam technique.
Ye im doing accesories like lat pull downs curls tricep pushdowns stuff like that
Is it a good idea to do a modified SS where I do 5x5 instead of 3x5 or should I not fuck around with the program?
I also plan on switching to a PPL after I'm done with SS, good or bad idea?
Thanks brothers.
fuck 5x5 that's retarded, just make the last set amrap
Thanks for the reply, what's the difference?
amrap set being last allows for more volume for hypetrophy, but also allows your program to be self-regulating
I'm doing SS now and was gonna add in the barbell medicine crew's pressing plugin when they stall.
Replacing 3x5 bench/press with a single, 5x5 back off bench/press then 4x8 press/bench
I've been doing Starting Strength for four months and still making linear progress on squats, deadlifts, and overhead press. My squat is at 110 kg, my deadlift at 145 kg, my overhead press at 52,5 kg, my bench press at 70 kg, and my power cleans at 55 kg. I'm switching over to 5/3/1 since I'm not a powerlifter, I just want to get big and strong. I'm doing a variant with squat/bench monday, deadlift/ohp wednesday, and power cleans friday. I throw some accessory exercises in like dips, incline bench, delts lateral raises, t-bar rows, chinups and pullups, back extensions, facepulls, curls and deadhangs.
Have you completely stalled out?
Don't quit a linear progression programme until you've stalled multiple times. If you want something you can personalise (eg get big and strong in your own way) then look into greyskull It has lots of variants, here's one

Nigger you have been doing it for not even two months. Keep going until you are done with your cut. Strength gains will come as you start to bulk.
Thats good progress user, were having similar results as im only 1.5months in and im 90kg squat, 100kg deadlift, 40kg Ohp, 60kg bench and rows. I was thinking about doing madcow after i get 1/2/3/4 with a bulk, i already have a big ass and my arms are small so t rex mode terrifies me thats why i was looking for some advice, greyskull looks like something i might give a shot
Im still making strength gains, but after my cut i want to focus on aesthetic hypertrophy and put strength aside for a while.
