Why does this board never talk about things like stretching, yoga, meditation, mobility or improving balance ? Is there any interest in a hippie health general or something along those lines where we can discuss all of the above ? I might try to create a general like that if there would be enough people interested in the subject. I especially would like more people to discuss meditation and yoga with and how they can benefit your overall wellbeing.

Fucking disgusting harlots. Imagine how their fathers must feel to have raised sluts for daughters

cause its all about big muscles to impress sluts on this board

Anything to do with Yoga is a cult. Bikram Yoga is a literal sex cult. Lululemon is an athletic apparel cult. You have to drink the Kool-Aid to believe in this garbage.

>mobility
>improving balance
Most people here only care about getting big. If you are into this stuf, look up these guys:

>stretching
>yoga
You know the people on here are to insecure for that shit
>meditation
What is /sig/?

i just do some foam rolling and stretching if i get too tight, who gives a shit about mobility/flexibility. dudes on here aren't in their 50s worrying about their golf swings

>not just learning the poses and doing them alone in your free time

the only thing stretching is good for is for bbc prep

Fpbp

well, it's their fault

any serious athlete does some form of stretching. also if you ever want to do olympic lifts you really need the added mobility.

>Bikram Yoga is a literal sex cult

maybe I should start doing yoga then...

I want to into yoga. Lot of cuties do it and seem to be into dudes who do.
Also figure it’ll help me with my BJJ.

Fit doesn't talk about it because hippie health doesn't involve quantitative metrics and is largely based on bullshit.

Lifting weights is something that makes you comparable to others in a fairly objective way. Liberals HATE quantifying performance and that's why they gravitate towards things like yoga or meditation which are basically impossible to say one person is better at than someone else. It's about FEELING GOOD.

Fit isn't about feeling good. It's about looking good through autistic, quantitative, comparable routines so you can MOG the shit out of others.

I work on my mind body connection and focus through combat marksmanship, my flexibility through BJJ, and my fitness through weight training.

Fuck Hippy Yoga.

>current year
>not stretching for martial arts

I mean, there are threads on meditation, there's an active one even now

Meditation can give you brain gains though, and I'm pretty sure a Jow Forums guy who can do the splits mogs a Jow Forums guy who can't.

I'd be interested in this shit, I have a small hernia through bad posture so should probably work on stretching and strengthening the lower back.

Cuz it's gay lol

If you really wanted gains from meditation, prayer is the way to go. Unlike the mystical voodoo of meditation, Jesus will always have your back if you reach out to him. Our heavenly Father works in mysterious but powerful ways

Based and Christpilled

I love that hippie shit, been doing Yoga for a year now and just renewed my membership today actually. That stretching and meditation does wonders for your breathing and rep range on a lot exercises. I just got 405 today actually on a cut for the first time in my life, used to be kind of insecure about it. Now IDGAF plus I see plenty of guys doing yoga at my studio, a fair amount of buff dudes too.

Yoga is great. I do it at least twice a week at home and it significantly improved my garbage shoulder mobility. In my acting studies, theres a lot of incorporation of yoga to enhance mind-body connection as well as improve ability to perform various tasks on stage. If you dont come in with the whole "chakras and energy of the universe" bullshit, it's a based practice

This.

Anyone who doesn’t do some yoga for mobility and warm downs is a retard.

Get your hernia operated on. They never heal, they can only get worse.

I think most people who work out stretch beforehand. I tried yoga and pilates for a while, and really enjoyed it. I left classes feeling stronger and more balanced, but I ended up quitting because it was expensive. Before I do cardio I like to stand upright and practice perfect posture for a minute or two.

How to join in the sex part of it?
The school (club? group?) nearest me charges about $300 per month. Maybe if I find a decent priced one.

Also, anyone know a way to get ins with the "acroyoga" type things? I'm just interested because that much close contact when I assume its mostly girls looking for someone to be a base for them, and it should be a pretty easy situation to flirt and progress to getting laid and/or orgies.

Meme yoga that women do is retarded. Actual yoga, the ancient discipline, in incredible. It isn't just about stretching and poses.

these are dudes

I've done a lot of playing around with different stretching, mobility, yoga, hot yoga, balance drills, coordination drills, pre-hab and preventative exercises, and re-hab for issues I have had.

In the context of what you get from it, yoga is the crossfit of mobility/flexibility/coordination/meditation, mostly sans the injury rate since the focus (should be) on gentle progression and safe stretching.

Now if you break it down, flexibility and mobility gains come better from very specified rep ranges and progressive intensity, the same way lifting gets better with a very focused program. 5-10 seconds active hard stretch (pushing into it deeper than is easy) or mobility movement (actively using your muscles at the end ROM for the stretch), followed by 10-60 seconds passive stretch, repeated several times for each stretch. Massage (including foam rolling) before stretching can also provide greater benefit. The issue is with yoga: "breathe into stretch, breath out and relax" doesn't provide optimal times, flowing through poses isn't optimal, and yin yoga lacks the active stretching.

Now similarly for coordination; any sports like MA's, soccer, badminton, basketball, w/e will be just as good or better. Drills like letterball juggling, footwork drills, progressive unstable-surface balancing, will all be more efficient. But yoga does admittedly provide some good full-body control and balance, as does calisthenics. Using targeted pre-hab exercises will be more effective case-by-case and while yoga does a decent overall job, it lacks in the sort of things you can do with additional resistance like face pulls or theraband exercises.

For all of that, if you want to add just one thing in the reductionist approach that Jow Forums is all about, then yoga a couple times a week is a good choice. I'm considering getting back to some classes for something different. Should add traditional yoga is mostly meant to prepare you for meditation.

>look, we're hippies now
These are the same type of girls who'll put on glasses and say they are nerds.

I'd still smash them though.
