Because I moved on from the girl that stressed me the fuck out and forgot I even had that app on my phone. May start doing it again since I have the time.

I've been doing five minutes a night.

How long until I can shoot lasers?

Because abstract spirituality is not a substitute for religion

I pray to God through Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ srs

I mean, that's kind of a valid form of meditation as well

god doesn't exist lol

>praying to a jew on a stick

You train your concentration and it makes your stress levels go down, which helps with recovery and mental health in general

haha imagine him getting a paper cut he'd totally spurt blood and haha

how do you guys feel about guided meditation ? it feels a bit like cheating honestly since a bunch of them there is so much talking and things you should do or imagine that you arent really meditating and rather following instructions and listening to someone talk.

I like some guided meditations but I find unguided is far harder and feels more like you are actually "improving" if you want to call it that.

Because prayer is much more effective than psuedoscience

Gay the pray away

so is meditating just laying in bed for 20min without thinking of anything or do i have the wrong concept?

I feel the same, but I think that doing some guided meditation at the start could help learn some ways to do it on your own

>prayer can't be a form of meditation
I'm a Christ fag but I'm getting tired of your shit

Read harder faggot

I was saying that "meditation is not a substitute for prayer" NOT "prayer is not a substitute for meditation"

How does it work?
You just sit there without thinking about anything, i can stop the verbal thoughts but as soon as i do that, i start having images flashing in my mind.

You don't have to think about nothing, you really can't do it anyway, your objective is staying concentrated on something, like your breath, or the feeling of your body, or some word/sentence you repeat to yourself over and over. You find something to concentrate on and train yourself so you can keep that concentration up more and more. Your mind WILL stray and that's normal and absolutely fine, don't get mad about it, just start concentrating again on your object/sensation of choice.

In the end you're kinda cleaning out your mind of clutter and noise, thoughts will always come and go, but with practice it becomes easier and easier to keep the concentration up.

for me it is not some intense concentration more like gently guiding my mind towards the breath when I feel attention drifting off. I like to think of thoughts as things that just flow through my mind and the goal is not to stop them but rather just letting them pass by without getting caught up on them..
