Any ripped programmers out there?
How do you manage to balance healthy life style with a sedative job like that? Do you colleagues think that you're jerk just because you're not a wimp like them?

>sedative
programming does put me to sleep
>not doing Romanian curls with a dumbell in one hand, while the other hand writes in vim, for maximum efficiency and speed
never gonna make it
English is my third language, I forgot you use a different word for sitting. Can you help me with a proper alternative?
>Fell for the computers career meme
>Not a male nurseoid
LITERALLY LMAOING AT YOUR LIFE AGAIN
Not everyone choose a career for the money
Sedentary
I had a progamming job over the summer and also was able to do some serious lifting.
I liked the combination, having such a sedentary job meant that I had a lot more energy in the gym.
I don't work more than 8 hours. Gym typically only needs 1-2 housr of your time. Sleep 8-9 hours. Still have 5-6 hours to chill.
Is becoming an RN a good career choice? I am genuinely directionless career wise. I grew up in a computer chair and the thought of doing PC work for a living makes me want to swallow a .45 round.
Pretty easy actually. Just have to find a programming job that has flexible hours. Hide your powerlevel at work and don't be pushy about it.
>Lift at lunch everyday
>Nobody other than occasional workout buddy knows
>Go to happy hours and be normal social programmer
>Profit
literally me
I'm considering:
>CS because of money but the thought makes me wanna kms
>Nurse
>Civil Engineer
>Robotics
>Some type of trade like Millwright
>Free/very cheap community college
>No debt
>You start working in 2 years
>Jobs literally everywhere
>Millions of career paths to follow
>Can potentially bank 500k depending on what you sutdy
>Extremely flexible schedule from 12 hours shifts 3 days a week to standard 9 to 5
It's not for everyone tho
nobody knows you lift? doing something wrong then
>Robotics
The most perspective and interesting option
but you're constantly dealing with sick people no?
I would be paranoid as fuck about catching some illness that way
>fucking hate hospitals for this reason
It would be even easier to be Jow Forums with such an unphysical job. You got things reversed my man. It's hard to lift if you're moving an lifting things all day like guys are in construction
imo Millwright is also interesting
Its alot of hands on work and you're pretty much doing a bit of everything. YOu do a bit of programming, a bit of fixing stuff, a bit of building stuff...etc
It's like a hands on engineer
You could just study for a research position or become a manager, also obviously you are dealing with sick people but there are like 394847372929 types of nurses google it
Literally this, I work 9 hour days and go to school. Still have time to lift 3-4 times a week.
Fucking based. Are you studying or working?
nurses who go into managment earn like 250k in canada
Also nurses are one of the most trusted and respected professions. SO if you ever decide to make a major career change like going into sales, people will be more likely to trust you due to having a nursing background
>SO if you ever decide to make a major career change like going into sales, people will be more likely to trust you due to having a nursing background
I met a shitton of nurses who didn't really care about patients and it felt like they were working for money only
Thats pretty much the same with software engineers too though
Only difference is that nurses unions will guarantee decent pay and a place to work as well as you don't have to bring your work home and do leet code or some shit
I fucking HATE this industry. Boring as fuck nerd shit, I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR GAY FINANCE SOFTWARE WRITTEN BY POOS. It pays well and is cushy but who the fuck cares if it bores you to tear and is a finely tuned depression factory
Fuck offices, fuck corporatism, fuck IT and CS. Fuck it all except the money
Xd though. It shouldn't be that hard I think. Millionaires that sit around all day like music artists can be able to lose fat and gain muscle.
You can work on good projects though. I'm currently developing a very promising Jow Forums-related service.
I lift after work and play bball with my coworkers a day or two. I also take walks at lunch and when I take breaks. If your office doesn't allow you out every once in a while that's pretty cucked. Breaks definitely help my performance, specifically walking.
I think most people I work with recognize that exercise is important, though I do have a reputation as being the "big guy" since I specifically lift weights.
Also, diet is huge. Way too easy to boredom snack. I just drink seltzer water or coffee when bored or to suppress appetite, respectively. If you have a flexible schedule, try working out mid day to prevent not wanting to go EOD due to mental burnout.
we got a treadmill desk in our office and there's a guy in ops who fucking SPRINTS on it all day while doing his work. he says he's preparing for an iron man. he is fit as fuck and I always see him taking out his little lunch box with his food and his scale from home and measuring how much he's eating. he's my idol
We have a mini-gym right in our office, plus standing desks, plus most of us do some sports outside of work anyway.
Stop with the programming threads you mental midget.
This, I've been a dev for 2 years in fintech. I don't know how people can do this for 20+ years. The upside is that I'm by far the Jow Forumstest guy in our office of 100+ devs although I only bench 2pl8
programming xD computer nerd :D but also fit haha
My hours are really flexible as long as I get all of the work done, so I’m able to go to the gym almost every day after/between work
A sedentary job is actually beneficial to gains because it alows your body and central nervous system to rest and focus on building. I worked landscaping for a good while over the summer in Texas and it hurt my gains pretty good. Had a good tan though. Might want to supplement vitamin d.
For real
> work ass hours on half of all jobs
> winter/autumn exposed to freezing dick cold, wind and rain
> in the summer get boiled into a dehydrated prune under work clothes
> alternatively get microwaved by the sun hard enough to turn you into a nigger
> no time to eat all the calories and nutrients required to sustain heaving shit all day long at work and gym
> good luck putting in max effort into your routine with 6hrs sleep unless you live on site/ nearby
