I did SL 5x5 and in a couple months friends and family were already complimenting me and impressed about how stronger I looked.
I was eating lots of meat though.

This. Keep the gym sessions simple with compound exercises (OHP, DL, Squats, Benchpress, Bicep Curls are good to start with) and focus on high reps (10-12 per set). Don't eat shit (this is where you'll fail most), eat more protein. That's it.

SS: Good, but somewhat outdated. Too much risk of T-Rex mode.
SL: Shit. Made by a dyel retard.
ICF: SL but even worse, made by a fat dyel retard.
Greyskull: Fucking great. (If done properly - read the book or at least read a primer)

The one you stick to and the one that works for you.
The "OG" greyskull is only a base to be built on anyway. You can add the accessory lifts that you want to add to it.
But that one or Phrak's greyskull will do you fine.
Personally I did
Bench/OHP
Pendlay Row/DB Curl (at about 2x8-12)
Squat(Mon, Fri)/Deadlift (Wed)
and I got great results. You can also add conditioning to greyskull (Short intense HIIT is reccomended) as well as Frequency Pushups and Pullups, which are a great way to boost hypertrophy.
I'm just doing that Jow Forums greyskull LP with 5x5 sets and going 4-5 times a week
I always feel like I'm doing something wrong but I'm praying if I keep doing it and keep eating I'll stop being a skele one day

Core = flexion, antiflexion, antirotation
Flexion: leg raises->hanging leg raises
Antiflexion: planks->weighted planks, performed as reps of 10s each, rest a few breaths between reps, repeat for 6-12 reps i.e. 1-2 minutes total then add more weight and repeat.
Antirotation: Russian twists or whatever, maybe windshield wipers idk
