What's the consensus on weight loss surgery? I've heard it can do amazing things. My doctor said if I can lose 50 pounds in the next 5 months I can be approved for it

weak way to losing weight. Just eat less its that fucking simple. Or dont eat at all, because fasting is faster

people breathe out 200g of pure mass each day.
just stop fucking eating user

The risk isn't worth unless you are boogie tier

I've seen people in the 250's get the sleeve done though

OP being fat is a mental state as well. If you remove all the fat in your body you would just get fat again so Its pointles unless you take the dieting steps you need to make

*keto: meat, vegetables, and water
*fasting

Whether or not it's effective way to lose weight, look at it another way:

Do you really wanna be that loser who can't even watch his diet for a few months. Have you sunken so low that a surgery is the best you can do?

Just download MyFitnessPal and start counting your calories. If you stop losing weight, reduce your calories a bit further. If you reduce your calories gradually, your metabolism will adapt and you won't even have cravings. If you're obese, you probably won't have to concern yourself with so called "weight loss plateaus" for now.

thats fucking retarded why would you ever get majority of your stomach removed. you'd be a weak faggot who could never survive in the wilderness. just have willpower to eat less you fucking disgusting weak sack of shit

And these people are retards.
It gives you long-term complications

i'm gonna do it when i'm done with the bulking/cutting game, but i've been lifting for 8 years and i'll be done at 10

Just toughing out a day or two without food until you lose the hunger and then fasting for a week at a time is probably more convenient, safer, and more effective. You seriously stop feeling the urge to stuff your face once you have come out of the carb crash. Maybe not the most healthy behaviour, but surely better than getting cut open and having your internal organs mutilated.

If you're like 350 then I say yes. If you can lose 50 pounds in five months anyway, why bother?
I can't say that it's terrible because you're trying to better yourself but you're not going to be able to bulk easily later if you do that to you.
There's also the nearly one month if liquid diet, the fact that sticking too it will make you lose weight so fast you'll need to get another surgery for the amounts of loose skin.

Do it right and you'll feel like you've accomplished something versus taking the easy way out.

A lot of hormones are produces in the part of the stomac that will be removed... consider it, too

Like what?

>in the next 5 months
What is the purpose of this deadline? Is weight surgery going to be banned in 5 months?

>My doctor said if I can lose 50 pounds in the next 5 months I can be approved for it

If you can do that on your own, ask yourself if you really need surgery.

Only fatties could be retarded enough to rather cut away a portion of their stomach than just diet.

anyone ive ever seen get their stomach stapled just put back on a ton of weight a few years later

I have a girl friend, her mom got a surgery and now she has to be really careful about what she eats, its not very fun for her she says.

You can shrink your stomach yourself with fasting, no need to get cut up.

>>My doctor said if I can lose 50 pounds in the next 5 months I can be approved for it
if you just don't eat for 5 months you'll also lose atleast 50 pounds.

Go on a TDEE - 1250 kcal cut and you can lose that same amount without surgery

If you eat 1000 calories a day for 5 months you'll lose 50 pounds.

I got the lap band surgery when I was 450lb. It only really worked until 375 and I could still eat like shit. Then years later I got my shit together and worked down to 180. The band still works but really only with very thick food. I can't eat bread or noodles unless it's extremely slowly. Everything else I can eat without a problem. I don't eat that shit anyway though doing keto.

Intrinsic factor.

Hopefully

literally removing half and organ from your body just because you cant stop eating like a fat fuck wow just wow.

The operation itself can compromise the integrity of the abdominal wall thus omitting minimally invasive surgery in the future if it's needed. If at all possible try gastric balloons. You need a lower BMI, but the results are the same and its completely reversible.

I have lost 45 pounds in the past three months just by eating less and moving more. Assuming you're big enough for weight loss surgery to even be on the table, you could probably just skip a meal a day and maybe go for a walk and you would lose weight.

Personally know someone who died from complications. Was slow and painful, don't do it user just put down the fork.

my colleagues had this.. they lost about 30 kilos in 3 months. But its slowing down now and they eating crappy food.

Don't do it you retard. Testimonials from people I know say that you are very hungry after surgery, but you literally cannot eat enough food to satisfy yourself. You will remain unsatisfied the rest of your days, probably some kind of cosmic irony.
