Do this

looks good

Fred Hatfield had a book on this

dumbells are great. now get a pullup bar you put in doorways (not the ones that are just a simple pole from side to side, but actually stuck in the doorway itself, with a safety pin) and some kind of bench, even making your own can be good if you're not getting more equipment/looking to be cheap.

What the fuck kinda of 2008 looking ass camera did u take this with

Shrugs

What a useless post. Who would bother writing out the equivalent to "I don't know." Fuck off with this useless shit.

Not OP but that looks really useful to me. I've been wanting something to add more lifting work and more variety to build better overall strength.
So how would I work that routine around the workout I currently do at my gym?

Currently going Sun/Tue/Thu A/B/A B/A/B

A
Squats 5x5
Bench Press 5x5
Bent-Over Row 5x5
Tricep Extension 3x8
Facepulls 3x8
Farmer's Walks 3x

B
Squats 5x5
Overhead Press 5x5
Deadlift 3x6
Close Grip Bench 3x8

I do my deadlifts heavy, and I get long rest periods between them for full recovery.
I've been doing this program for a while, only slightly modified from the basic programs everyone gets suggested. It's time for me to do more. I have adjustable dumbbells at home now. I can't spend any more time at the gym due to work schedule and other circumstances, and I want to keep doing my current program, at most slightly modifying it if needed. But I can do more stuff at home with my dumbbells.

Could someone please help me? I need to burn even more calories and build even more muscle. I desperately want to be strong. I'm willing to push hard.

My entire workout regime revolves around dumbbells.

I honestly hate going to the gym, and I don't have room for a barbell. So I use dumbbells as a substitute, and it works out just fine.

90% of Jow Forums will bash you for not using a barbell, they'll claim of the limitations, yadayada.

Take 2 60lbs adjustable dumbbells and do 25 deadlifts. Your legs will be on fire.

Lunges are unironically goat

excellent bait

I've also got some dumbells which I've never used and can be loaded up to 17kg each. Are posterior exercises even possible with dumbells? I'm not sure if I should also get a barbell to go along with starting strength. I'm just worried that I'll not be able to get the whole squat rack setup to make use of the barbell.

Weird seeing this because I just started the same thing 6 weeks ago with dumbbells at home too.

Still a complete beginner but some tips that have helped me a LOT so far!!

1. Watch a lot of youtube videos for proper form. Make sure to watch multiple videos on the same exercise and read comments so you know the uploader is doing it properly. Apparently there are ways to fuck your rotator up if you do lateral side raises improperly, which a lot of the videos online don't tell you about.

2. Start out with LOW weights so you get form first (5-10 pounds for isolations, two 10 pound dumbbells for compound movements). Afterwards then get to the higher weights for compound movements gradually, and slowly increase dumbbells for isolations. Buy more weights, especially maybe like 4 1.25 lb plates!

3. People are always saying nutrition is key, and I wish it was something I could ignore, but it seems to be really fucking important. After eating like COMPLETE SHIT (skeleton mode), i've started eating 3 or so meals a day and i'm great. Maybe aim for 2k-2.5k calories depending on size/height? The website 'eatthismuch' is pretty good.

4. If your form starts to go completely dog shit, stop the exercise assuming it's your last set.

5. Decide if you're training strength or for bigger looking muscles, and research from there!
