There is no way we can know that, honestly apart from a sparring footage. He does have good speed and reactions, but sparring can only get you so far in terms of determining one's fighting skill. Plus, that sparring partner was his student I believe. Yes he had good speed and coordination, but there's a lot more to that in a good fighter. We still will never know how he would handle different fighters because people fight differently.

I don't think he was a bad fighter, but he is honestly overhyped. People give him respect for being an icon and being a revolutionary for martial arts. Nothing wrong with that.
