Natty lifting is so unrewarding I just want to quit, all this fucking effort lifting 6 times a week and overfeeding 5 times a day just to look average with clothes.

I like lifting and see health benefits, but not that much and not eating like a pig while avoid sugar.
I don't need the strength and I can pull way more girls than needed even with 20 pounds less.

me, took this before Christmas and I started trying to go to the gym in the new year but I always end up just running on the treadmill and leaving scared without actually doing any weight work. I put on some pounds and I'm trying to gather courage to go and use the dumbells there this week.

Even when its nearly empty I'm shit scared of fucking my form up and dropping a weight on myself or injuring myself. I'm also worried that I'll fail to adjust the bench and draw attention to myself stupidly. I've been obsessively looking up routines and proper form for weeks now.

Thanks for the encouragement, I'll go tomorrow and attempt DB bench press, curls and probably a squat at the very least, if it goes well I'll complete an actual dumbbell routine.

you just have to get used to it, eventually once you've gone there a few times a week for a month or two it'll become second nature, and trust me, most people too busy focusing on their own form and exercises to worry about what you're doing, it's all in your head

I weighed around 49.5kg at my lowest at 5'11. As I said I did put on some weight from eating alone. I'm about 56kg now from mostly eating cereal and 2pints of milk a day.

I thought just as much. There's more females on the bikes/treadmills in there tight leggings or whatever they call them than people using the weights in my gym at the time I go (usually early afternoon when its supposed to be the quietest). I was doing half push ups and one came onto the mat right next to me and started doing stretches, pretty much left instantly.

Once when I was like 16 and started lifting, I was using the cable machine and went to change the weight and the bar dropped down and fell to the floor since it was heavy lol. I looked like an idiot, but you live and learn. Some people are straight ass holes, but that's just like anywhere you go. I live in NY where everyone is an ass, very rarely do people bother me at the gym though.

What makes someone a wristlet and how to prevent it early?
I need to know so i can advise my friends and family when they get kids so they don't grow up sickly with small bones like I did.

ah that's something you have to get used to, you will sometimes end up doing exercises right next to somebody else, i'm the guy who posted this: and i was helping a new guy by spotting his barbell bench press, and giving him some tips etc. as he was only going down about 50% of the full range of motion, and he was saying he's really surprised that i actually helped and was friendly, because he'd assumed most people who'd been going to the gym for a while would look down on the new guys, i said it's the oposite man, we've all been the new guy at one point and most people will be willing to help

just get yourself in there, eventually you'll becomie a regular and it'll be second nature to you. we have a couple of skinny guys in my gym and they're in there day in day out doing their thing, that's only going to get respect.

I don't live in a city so its not particularly busy and is quite chill. There's quite a few decent looking gyms close though so I could always swap if something bad happens

I only have a few and I they're not very good pictures. I've got different motivation though, I failed my class 1 LGV test because I was too weak to decouple the trailer (pulling out an air line). So just gaining enough strength to do that would be a milestone that should be enough to get me hooked into this. That and being a 25 year old virgin.
