Opinion on eliptical?

walk is cardio too, innit? I walk 2h every other day, is it okay?
cheers matey

Ye my bru clapping foot is foine. Maybe a brisker pace yeah? Cheez.

Are you kidding me, OP? You can't even get these gym rats to do high reps/low weight for a few weeks to build actual muscular endurance without them throwing a fit at the mere mention of it. Meanwhile all they want to do is babby-tier 5-rep '''sets''' then whine and complain when they stall out their progress in a few months. Get them to do actual aerobic endurance training? LOL that's hilarious.

Better than a treadmill imo and an acceptable substitute when running outside isn't feasible. Also great if you are returning from injury because it is low impact on the lower trunk and legs.

I've been enjoying the shit out of those machines, do around 30 mins 6 days a week after weights, using the fat burn option which has like varying intensity stuff.

Will 3x30-45min/week running help strenghten my erection?

Being lean and having a good cardio fitness base will help you have better erections yes

How are kettlebells for cardio? I need something I can do at home when the weather is bad and doesn't involve jumping as that creates too much noise and I live in an apartment

HTFU and run outside. Or get a treadmill.
>kettlebells
that's not cardio

but theres snow on the pavement and ill slip.
swinging kettlebells gets my heart pumping. thats cardio innit?

who /t a b a t a/ here

Can you swing a kettlebell for an hour without stopping without hurting yourself? No? Then it's not '''cardio'''.

Go to a gym and run on a goddamned treadmill and stop being a faggot about it.

Totally is. Actual kettlebell competitions are more about stamina and endurance, they're canonically a cardio tool. They can also be heavy and give a great HIIT sort of workout that gets your muscles sore and gasses you. They might be a waste of money compared to dumbbells if you're aren't swinging them, tho.

t. lazy fatass who has never even been inside a gym in his life

No but desu I can't run or jog for an hour either because im outta shape

FFS just GO TO A GYM and start running/walking/running on a goddamned treadmill. This ain't rocket science.

Does cardio kills your gains or not?

How is that better from swing/rest/swing

Of course it's not.

It's exercise science

>Does cardio kills your gains or not?
No, that's a MEME. Do your goddamned cardio.

If you're too stupid to figure this out for yourself then nobody can help you. GTFO.

>no answer
>y-you're too stupid, gtfo

So its fine to lift and do cardio every day?

>people are still falling for the "cardio KILLS gains" meme
>in 2019

95% of the users on this board have probably never read the sticky

>cardio KILLS gains
People who claim that are just lazy fat fucks that don't want to run 30 minutes. Pure fatty cope.

What lifting routines do you guys have to complement swimming?

This, and I also like that you involve your upper body too

As long as you eat more calories to make up for the cardio, yes.

I never use the arms on the elliptical. Feels like cheating. Save them for the proper arm workout

So if you are cutting then cardio does kill your gains

I think a modified push/pull/legs routine would be appropriate.

Obviously you are going to want to hit your pull exercises/lifts hard since freestyle and breaststroke are more push than pull. Definitely would stress muscle endurance over strength too i.e. lower weights and high reps.

I bizarrely find that lifting kills gains. I don't know if there is a scientific reasoning but I lose weight when I switch to lifting. Maybe something to do with training muscles that rarely get trained.
Note that I am a runner/cyclist who tries to stay skelly.

anyone here /ropejumping/?
currently working on my double under, can already do 25 double unders (about 30 secs) before tiring myself to death

More like you can eat more while cutting

jump rope is top tier and my go to warm up cardio before I go swimming or lift weights

>targets the whole body, especially core
>improves coordination and body awareness
>looks impressive when you get good
>never ending list of variations to try
>has things to work towards like triple unders, criss crosses, backwards double unders etc.

11/10 would get a sweat going with

Attached: hGOqErDv_400x400.jpg (400x400, 10K)

I'm already quite good at it, but find it boring to just skip for like 15 minutes, thats why I'm working on harder variations (like the double under).
I can already jump with one leg for about 1 minute and criss cross (with one leg too), I feel like the double under is the last skill that I have to master.

Bodyweight circuits maybe, something like:
20 pushups
10 mountain climbers
10 side star planks per side
10 shoulder touches per side
10 reach unders per side
>flip over
30sec bicycle crunches
30sec toe touches
60sec reverse plank
30sec hollow hold
30sec glute bridge
>stand up
30 bw or goblet squats
30 lunges
Etc etc etc
Maybe do it on a tabata scheme, idk, just keep your heart rate up

>regularly run along river
>ground is frozen and slippery today
>almost fell in the river
Oh fug :DD

get some of these

Am I okay lifting and swimming on the same day, or within hours (my gym is combined with a pool), or should I alternate days? Currently on "rest days" I just walk or jog 10km.

If you do, lift first then swim. Your form will suffer if you try to lift after swimming.

I love the way my body feels after a post lift swim session desu

Yeah first time I lifted after swimming and fucked my legs up good. Doing it the other way now.

I do legs and shoulders Tuesday and then swim, absolutely destroys me.

sled pushes are based

Everybody that claims cardio kills gains is missing at LEAST one chromosome. For the past two years I was mostly a power and speed based athlete, with a bench max of nearly 200, and a squat max of 350, and an 11 second 100 meter dash. This year I switched to a MUCH more distance heavy regimen, averaging roughly 40 miles a week, and only did light weight high reps when I lifted, which was rare. The other day I ran 10 miles in 70 minutes. My 3 mile time got down to 17 minutes. I thought I would've lost strength, but last week I maxed for the first time in a while and still bench 190 and squat 330.

This shit is honestly hilarious, I never would have imagined id be running for 15 minutes when I worked my way up for 2-3 minutes at the beginning.

I do both at the same time, planning to go past 72 hours.

6:28 GONNA BE AT ERG SPRINTS IN NOVA THIS SATURDAY!!!!!

Keep going user, if you keep working at it you will forget what it was like not to love going for a run
