How do I safely do an extended fast?

I’ve been alternate day fasting and I’ve been lifting on my feast days and then doing fasted cardio. Basically I’m going to the gym every day. Am I somehow fucking up my body? Does any one have experience with adf with weight training and cardio?

Fasting does not mean you have to adopt an ascetic lifestyle. It is only a nutritional option. You do not have to be a knuckledragger autist while on a /fast/. Still getting some hunger pangs occasionally, but nothing too unbearable. Planning on going until Sunday. Longer if I'm feeling good

Keep it up. If those pangs are too close together, just have a light pork chop and some spinach. I find I always have to ease into my longer fasts with a day or two of having one meal a day, the second smaller than the first.

Is fasting recommended for someone already relatively lean who wants to shed fat quickly?

I am currently 14% body fat but would like to hit 10 to 12% body fat by the time I leave for a vacation to Mexico in exactly one month.

Starting tomorrow, I'll try to do OMAD mondays through saturdays with mostly lowcarb food, then eat nothing on sundays. Should be a pretty sustainable lifestyle. Hoping to lose about 15kg before summer. If I'm still fat by then, I'll eat only 1 or 2 meals a week during my holiday.

Coles job is to fast himself down to 7%. Unless you have a show coming up I'd suggest you spread out your weight loss. I hit snake juice pretty hard hitting OMAW and loss 30lbs in 4 weeks. I am going to try and hit 10% bf by summer which is me losing another 15-20lbs. Currently >20%bf. Obliques and abs are faint so thats my guess.

Fuck you guys. I disregarded all your advice in the last thread and tossed some citric acid into my snake juice. Automatically a dozen times more palatable. It did get kind of fizzy though, I think from the baking soda-citric acid reaction. But even that is kind of a nice distraction from the original, shitty diluted salt flavor.

Baking soda's already in there. I never tried a recipe without it, so I wouldn't know. I guess I'm probably lucky in that sense, if it's really bad. I just like having at least one more flavor dimension to the drink rather than just "salty" - having sour in there helps cut that very well.

I don't wanna do multiple day fasts right now for fear of getting diarrhea and other complications at work.
My main planned activity for my summer vacation is "lying around in the sun," so I might as well go the extra mile of laziness and just not even get up to make food or go out to eat.

I don't drink a lot of alcohol, but when I was looking for effervescent electrolyte tablets, I noticed that a lot of them were being marketed as anti-hangover meds. Makes sense, seeing how the hangover headache is largely caused by dehydration.

For what it's worth, the worst I've had at work is when everyone showed up for lunch and I wasn't eating anything. I told them I was doing OMAD, with dinner being the meal, when I was actually just fasting. No ill effects besides that. Plus, having tasks to do really takes your mind off of the "man, I could really go for a burger right about now. I'll just start tomorrow." mindset.

HONESTLY, NOT EATING IS THE LAZIEST WAY FOR A PERSON TO LOSE BODY FAT, AND IT HAPPENS TO BE THE BEST. I JUST DON'T PROMOTE IT THAT WAY BECAUSE PEOPLE WILL THINK THAT YOU CAN'T DO ANY ACTIVITY WHILE FASTING.

That's not an issue at all, I've experimented with fasting in the past and talked with my colleagues about it. They generally respect me as a somewhat excentric but knowledgeable guy with a decent work ethic. But I always did get some adverse effects when I went for longer than 48 hours, like headaches, diarrhea and drowsiness. Fainting and shitting my pants while I'm in the middle of a conversation with a coworker or a client seems like a very real possibility, and I definitely don't want that.

Basically I wake up, go to work without eating anything and only eat a meal when I get home in the afternoon (16h) and another before I sleep (00h). Anything else I should do or is this fine?

I'm 1,81m and 82kg and started to lift on january 3rd because my body is garbage mostly because I have no chest. So I guess my goal is to have a decent enough body which I'm aiming to get in 1~2 years.

My lifts stalled. Doing OMAD on MWF with fasted cardio, and eating maintenance and 3 meals on TThS with weights. Overall at a deficit for calories. I am slowly losing weight. My 72 hr fast caused my lifts to actually go down, if you intend on trying that as well.

Anyone have evidence that prolonged fasting or IF doesn't burn muscle? Preferably not anecdotal. I read the linked studies and did not see anything in there.

what the other guy said. basically, if you're working hard, you're gonna feel bad changes pretty quickly. so if you feel nothing but better, go for it, if it's actually bad for you, you'll find out soon and can just switch then. listen to your body, that's the whole initial point of diets of any kind. it's not for you to follow them like they're a religion, just a suggestion for what might work for you

Day 2 is usually it, followed by semi diarrhea days after but never as bad as day 2.
