Are squats a meme? Every time I try them the pressure or tension or whatever I feel in my knees scares me and I stop. I keep hearing about people who really fuck up their knees doing exercises and that worries me, I like running.

haha imagine if she let out a toot
squats place a lot of stress on the knees
perfect form and all, i just don't do them anymore because they feel unstable after a few days.
What are some other good
butt exercises
then?
>Squats put pressure on my knees so I don't do them
>Also I like running
running doesn't feel like someone is pulling my kneecaps off.
i bet it would smell pretty gross haha
>squatting puts pressure on the knees
yeah well benching puts pressure on your arms that's the damn point.
Low quality b8
no i'm just retarded. Maybe some context will help.
My entire routine is 1 hour cardio/jogging every other day, and 50 sit ups/20 push ups every day. I'm skinny and I just want to stay that way while getting a more toned body. I want to do squats to improve my butt but whenever I do them my knees feel really strained and it freaks me out. I might just be autistic.

i would argue its like any other exercise you aren't used to and don't like right off the bat- your muscles that are necessary for the exercise are inadequate, or maybe you actually have knee issues and should get it checked out.
i recently had an MRI of my right knee, which makes a ton of noise whenever i bend it and it's been doing that for 5 years. i ignored it for a long time cuz there was just noise and no pain but i did a lot of jumping at work one day and knee pain in the morning spooked me so i got it checked out. i was obese most of those 5 years and recently lost 100lbs, i expected "your knee is kinda fucked, cartilage degeneration from being fat and active, too much pressure on your knee" etc.
it's totally fine, small cyst from fluid leaking out of the joint, absolutely nothing wrong with the knee or ligaments or cartilage. just a noisy knee. i used to do 3 sets of 10, 400lbs leg presses, could do 150lbs squats but didn't often, and my knees are fine.
tl;dr just do the squats fucker, if you want a strong posterior chain and quads. if your knees REALLY bother you then get them checked.
>i might just be autistic
yea it's just autism refer to which was my own brand of autism that was a lot more justified
>more toned
Either this is still b8 or you’re really retarded.
Anyways, what part of your knee gets strained? The muscle right above it? That’s called working out. Also make sure your form isn’t shit, if your knees go far out past your toes you’re putting too much pressure on your knees. Kick your hips back, lean over, your toes should be directly under your knees at the bottom of the squat
thank and yes I am retarded. I've been winging it with basic bitch exercises for the past 3 years and it's kept me healthy but I want to get serious-ish.
neither should squats. go to the doctor user
Doctors don't do anything for shitty joints. It's a "learn to live with it" type of pain.
gnarly haha
haha u prolly could see it in those pants
More like learn to warm up and stretch but ok
Just get a gym membership and start a beginner's lifting program (SS, SL, GSLP, doesn't matter, just pick one and stick with it for a few months). You'll thank me later. It feels good and you'll actually get results. Bye.
nobody hurts their knees squatting this is placebo. stfu. just learn to do it.
Hip thrusts. DB split squats, especially Bulgarian split squats
