Bench press in the power rack

>bench press in the power rack
Are you seriously too antisocial to ask for a spotter?

>spotting

>depending on the day I find this lady beautiful or trash
I've never done that but also I've never asked for a spotter. I know my limits and where to progress with that in mind. A bro as spotter is the right thing but nobody says you will not make it by not having one.

What the fuck is the point of the power rack then?

to rack power

I don't bench with bar, only dumbells. I can't feel anything in my chest if I use a bar.

Have you guys ever asked a thot for spotting? i were close to it but havent yet, might be fun

bit pointless innit

>needing a spotter
LMAO fucking pussies

To overhead press and curl in.

Based

>ask for a spotter:

>they spot like shit, either grabbing the bar too early or too late, standing directly over me, etc
>they think this means i want to be friends and now i'm accosted every time i walk by them
>they take it as me indirectly asking for advice/help

either 3 of these options are all worse and more annoying than the 2 minutes of effort it takes to set up the power rack

This. I'd rather be pinned under the bar than have these things happen to me, especially when they "spot" by literally doing the rep for you at the first sign of any struggle and act like they're doing you a favor.

Yeah because some thot would be able to spot be pressing 3pl8. Dyel spotted.

Are you dumb enough to believe that some idiot standing around in the background will do fuck all when you drop 350 pounds on your chest and cause massive internal injuries?

Having to roll a bar off your chest every now and then isn't much of a problem. Dropping it on yourself is. Unless he's going to always have his hands under the bar and catch a free falling bar and deadlift it, having one spotter is useless beyond helping you at the start and end of the lift.

this to be 100% honest.
after years lurking this and all the retarded spotters on the webms I trust no one.

>Being this antisocial

>having one spotter is useless beyond helping you at the start and end of the lift.
All I really want from a spotter is to help me unrack so I can stay in the optimal position.

>Dying from internal bleeding because you wanted to autistically make 'friends' at the gym instead of going there only to lift.

All bench stations should have safeties. More people die from failed bench presses than any other lift because the no one bother to put in $20 worth of steel. Even cheap safety stands would work.

You'd have to make the safeties adjustable because not everyone has the same leverages and sizes so at that point you are already creating half of a power rack.

Some people prefer to train alone for their focus.

The spotter only has to pull the weight that you can’t push. As long as the bitch can row 30 lbs you should be fine.
> spotted the curlbro whose spotter rows half his egolift bench for him

>just be social bro, talking to some random gymfag is worth the risk of dying
Yep, and that's exactly what standard bench press equipment should be. We're basically living in the stone ages right now.

>ask for spotter
>spotter rows the bar

>don't help me until I'm really struggling
>I'm going for at least x reps
>spotter starts rowing on the first rep

better than him doing tricep pulldowns on it

Yeah, they should be adjustable but even if they were fixed at say two inches lower than the average chest, it would still stop it from landing on someone's neck and it would give them the option of rolling it up instead of off them on a failed lift. It would also lessen the damage from it being dropped onto a chest. I don't know if you've seen any of the dropped bench press videos but the amount it goes into the chest is astounding.

Either way, it's not that much steel to add on and wouldn't cost the manufacturer much. You already have two of the uprights. You would just need a few pieces of steel a little over two feet long for the other two uprights and to go between them.

I think the problem is the gym owners don't buy the ones with safeties because they don't realize what a problem it is and they'll save a few dollars on equipment by having the normal ones.

>plebs who didn't understand Conan the Barbarian.

The ultimate lesson of the movie is that flesh is stronger than steel. "What is steel compared to the hand that wields it? This point is brought across by Thulsa Doom and emphasized when Conan breaks his father's sword with in the final battle.

yes

Who should I ask? That dyel who somehow managed to stay for the whole January? That chick that's on the threadmill? There also boomers but whenever I ask them to spot me they begin to lecture me on form, the last one seriously told me to grip as wide as possible and arch like crazy, I noded politely but then went back to my old form.

Flesh grows weak, steel becomes brittle.

Why do you think Larry Wheels is so strong?
The grim reapers always after him.
