Anyone else /carnivore/ diet...

Anyone else /carnivore/ diet? In 2019 I've eaten nothing but ribeye steaks and drank nothing but water and half and half. Down to single digit bodyfat %, lifts going up, steady energy all day. Not sure if I'm in ketosis or not, don't really care. Feels good man.

Be sure to get regular bloodwork user, raised cholesterol is no joke.

Wrong. High carb, even more so fructose, leads to insulin desensitization, leading to diabetes, leading to chronic inflammation, then calcification, then plaque buildup, then stroke.
Cholesterol levels are not a good predictor of stroke risk and are generally well managed by your body by producing less or more.

American Heart Association says
> Cholesterol can join with other substances to form a thick, hard deposit on the inside of the arteries. This can narrow the arteries and make them less flexible – a condition known as atherosclerosis. If a blood clot forms and blocks one of these narrowed arteries, a heart attack or stroke can result.
heart.org/en/health-topics/cholesterol/about-cholesterol

European Atherosclerosis Society Consensus Panel say
> Consistent evidence from numerous and multiple different types of clinical and genetic studies unequivocally establishes that LDL causes ASCVD.

Eventually got to carnivore diet after like a year of cutting things out and after switching finally got rid of my psoriasis and chronic bacne, though if I cheat I get a pimple or two and if I cheat for a few days straight psoriasis will start coming back. I eat like 2 pounds of skirt steak a day along with some raw grass-fed liver for vitamin gains, dont forget your organ meats OP but make sure they're high quality

I'm on it. The only, and I repeat only, statistically significant link between CHD and blood lipid levels is the Tri/HDL ratio. Mine is .88. I'm in the lowest cohort of risk.
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2664115/

A high sugar diet is more likely to give you heart disease than a meat focused diet.

With atherosclerosis caused by a high carb intake? Maybe you will then stop dropping your insulin sensivity with a fruit smoothie every 2 hours?
Dietary cholesterol is fine, your body regulates the levels. However you have enough cases where vegans lose any sexual appetite. I was on the vegan side as well once. The problem fundamentally lies in the vegan diet.

No I did not.

You spoke of an unknown mechanism of damage which if discovered would mean we could eat all the cholesterol we want.

Even if accepting your theory as true, it makes no sense to consume excessive levels of saturated fat and cholesterol until this damage mechanism can be identified and stopped.

You'll be fine OP, but make sure you get your potassium and manganese, they're essential for health and are somewhat hard to get from a carnivore diet.

This only true if LDL is oxidized and you are in a state of inflammation. Otherwise, LDL levels (specially when measured as LDL-C) have no bearing on your health. Cholesterol exists to keep you alive and healthy, not to kill you.

The damage mechanism is literally eating to much carbs, just as almost every vegan diet style requires. Your get (pre) diabetic and have chronic inflammation.

OP says he is only eating steak tho

In reality, both vegetarians and meat-eaters have similar lifespans. They just die from different causes.
Having gone vegetarian myself, the moment I started eating meat again my body was giving me massive positive feedback. I can't argue the fact that we are evolved to eat it, so I would rather respect nature by accepting that killing for food is a part of it.

Vegans unironically think eating meat will make them sexually impotent.

No. Not even going to go through your epidomelogical studies with self reported intake and comparisons to someone eating a typical high carb SAD.

Eating a high carb vegan diet + liberal smoothie consumption will lead to diabetes, no way around it. And then you have a massive, diabetes induced inflammation.

>my meme diet cure diabetes, your meme diet is the cause
For the last time you bunch of retards, diabetes is caused because the average 50 years old wageslave is overweight and never moves his ass.
Your meme diets have little to do here. Be a static fatty and you get type 2. Be thin, active and you’ll avoid it. Doesn't matter if you are a ketofag, a vegancuck or a carnivoretard.

And most of the 'long term vegans' quit simply. At the 5 or six year mark like Bonnie Rebecca, Moon and Rock. Rob Stuart. Bobbies Perspective.

If they didn't quit, these people would literally be in comas or dead, if they stayed on the "most healthy diet known to man, veganism"

It's going to be funny as hell, when half the emaciated vegans featured on the series, are ex vegans are thriving carnivores. Vegetable police was the first crossover.

I did meat only for about half a year. It's a great way to lose weight, if you're chubby your fat will just drop off you without even doing anything. digestion was fine, never had the shits or anything. The downside I had was I had a lot less energy at the gym. So now I eat a small amount of carbs to boost my energy a bit but still not get chubby

This is me after 12 years vegan.
Looking good.
Feeling good.

Attached: vegan-joy.jpg (800x600, 53K)

i've been mainly carnivore for the past 4 months now. I eat about 25% plants and 75% local grown animal food. Nothing satisfies me like a slightly cooked ribeye or steak.

Protip, check the fat on the steak, if its yellow = quality if its very white = grain fed mass production.

my lifts also went up, my depression went away. I feel so fucking good lads.

I eat mainly local eggs, raw milk and meats. I bet I have a better "carbonfootprint" than any vegan eating avocados, they don't grow here.

I get my raw milk in reusable glass containers.
I must admit that if I drink a lot ( 2L ) of it in a day the next day my nose is a bit congested, but man does it bulk me up!

> he thinks meat causes impotence

Attached: vegans.jpg (435x690, 51K)

>slightly cooked
My man. I just sear it a bit and leave the middle completely raw.
>local eggs, raw milk and meats
Funny, I got into raw dairy too. I never bought milk/cream before, now I'm guzzling it with my practically raw meat. Feels amazing.

Dude loos already half dead

few months ago I actually got slightly addicted to it, when I was recovering from fasting and my diet that was mostly plants, only 2 days where I ate a small amount of meat.

Managed to get my hands on some raw milk and I got hooked on it, I drank a litre or more of it a day and craved it so bad, I bulked up 10kg in the past 4 months after stopping "eating healthy aka mostly plantbased + fasting"

I was killing myself. I deluded myself. Luckely I wasn't on the path for long only experimented with mainly plant based + fasting for about 2.5 years. it destroyed me.

btfw I'm mnot fat and still am not fat, if I gain another 10kg i'm still not fat. I turned fucking skelletor weaklet on the plant based diet. also I fukcing hated eating fruits and plants, no satisfaction at all, have to eat a shit tonne of it, still don't gain any mass or strength. luckely I always put raw eggs in my plant smoothies to combat the super fast degeneration of my system

How old are you?

We're pretty similar. I was vegan for 6 monthsa couple years ago, but instead of going skelly mode like most people I gained a lot of fat, almost 30 pounds. I was eating mostly lentils and rice, it just bloated me up like crazy. My sister has been vegan for a year, she went from being athletic to fat (she does the junk-food vegan diet).

The the diets these vegan diets are compared to carefully selected meat-eating diets, or just the same average joe who eats whatever the fuck, up to and including the pizza-beer-ice cream "diet"

it's weird, howcome some people gain fat on the mostly plants diet? seems weird. if its so shitty then why do you store fat from it, as i've understood fat is one of the important parts you want to consume if you catch an animal, eat it's fat. so how can a animal eating a sub optimal food store nutritious fat? this does not really compute.

I'm literary overweight because I can't stop eating pasta with gallons of olive oil.

Your gut biome needs fiber to break down meat properly or it will break it down in a way which is very toxic to your stomach and can cause cancer.
Buy a bag of carrots and eat 2 with every meal.

>Down to single digit bodyfat %
The diabetes or weight loss effect of a meat diet is caused by two effects.
One is that your stomach will tell your brain it's full earlier with proteins, you can try eating 500cal of meat and then 500cal of rice, the rice will make you feel half as full.

Second is that you're meals on an all meat diet are just meat, our brains want to eat a large variety of food to eat as many nutrients as possible. That's why a fat ass will eat a burger, fries and then an ice cream, even though he was "full" after the burger. It's the same reason they make skittles in different colors, you're brain will feel less full eating a mixed colored bag than it will if you just ate the red ones, which will make you more likely to eat/buy more.

Weird.
I went full vegan for about 5 years and despite taking a multi and a calcium supplement and extra vitamin D my teeth chipped and got ground down in those 5 years, as well as getting some cavities despite brushing my teeth when I shower and before bed.
I added eggs and meat back in and dropped all grains from my diet almost 2 years ago and my teeth seem better and my complexion looks a hell of a lot better. Also, my knees don’t hurt anymore.

Anyway, I know sugar rots your teeth but maybe there’s more to it. Maybe going vegan fucks up your gut bacteria and that leads to melting the teeth out of your head. I dunno.

Still can't tell if you all are memeing or not.

It's a cult started by a youtube vlogger
They're the new vegans

Just let them get cancer and die

do you cook the steaks?

>Second is that you're meals on an all meat diet are just meat, our brains want to eat a large variety of food to eat as many nutrients as possible. But Dr. Broscience, what if you were surviving in the wilderness and your only food choices were deer and possibly other meats? Is your body incapable of adapting to a diet? Also, fries and ice cream and other carb heavy foods spike your insulin which increase ghrelin/ lowers leptin which tells your brain that you need to keep eating even though you already have sufficient calories. And I always thought Skittles were different colors to signify their flavor. Because unironiccally the orange ones taste like an orange.

>your stomach will tell your brain it's full earlier with proteins, you can try eating 500cal of meat and then 500cal of rice, the rice will make you feel half as full

Yes Dr. Broscience, without the drop in leptin and increase of ghrelin your brain will not tell you to keep eating. You can survive on a protein and fats only diet because your body can convert specific amino acids into a small amount of blood sugar through gluconeogenesis because your body needs very little blood sugar to operate if all other functions of your body are normal.

>Your gut biome needs fiber to break down meat properly

Christ alive Dr. Broscience, fiber is an anti-nutrient. You specifically eat it because you cannot digest it so it works as a gut cleaner. Meat can become sluggish in your gut when you eat too much of it at once and fiber might help move it along but would most likely make things worse as fiber requires more enzymes to break it down than meat does.

Yes, the cholesterol and saturated fat is not added by the cooking process.

This video is quite good:
nutritionfacts.org/video/vegetarians-versus-healthy-omnivores/

TL:DW - Studies comparing the healthiest of meat eaters to vegetarians as a whole found the vegetarians to be healthier

Nothing I posted is "broscience" you can take 10 minutes yourself to research studies proving that.

Is it really healthier if they live the same lifespans?
Again. Having less cancer while increasing your risk for other diseases isn't really "healthier."

I’m omnivore btw but I lean towards eating more meat than fruits and vegetables. High carb foods lead to insulin resistance while high fat foods lead to feeling satiated for longer. Humans evolved as scavengers, it’s why our stomachs not only evolved to be able to eat some amount of rotten foods but actually requires it.

Evolution wise, humans became much smarter than other animals because of our high meat intake. Humans would probably eat a small amount of vegetables when meat was scarce but would lean more towards fruit if available because they are more caloric and go figure our bodies absorb vitamins from fruits better than vegetables, almost like nature intended it that way. Also, dogs are not the only mammals that eat grass when they’re sick. It’s instinct to eat indigestible foods to clear out whatever is making you ill. Makes you wonder why the American diet suggests eating a ridiculous amount of fiber.

Going full vegan or full carnivore is slightly stupid, but in the age of an obesity and diabetes epidemic it’s extremely stupid to listen to idiots touting high carbohydrate foods as being required in the diet. Especially grains that your body can minimally use after they have been highly processed in a factory and then they’re labeled as natural and healthy whole grains. Basic nutrition will teach you that very few animals need grain in their diet and humans are not one of them.

I've been doing this for 2 weeks and my skin looks 10x better. What's the mechanism behind this?

So oats and granola are bad for the body? I eat organic oats and granola and oatmeal with little unnatural ingredients

>Anyway, I know sugar rots your teeth but maybe there’s more to it. Maybe going vegan fucks up your gut bacteria and that leads to melting the teeth out of your head. I dunno.

You said a mouthful bro. Veganism is the 'rotten tooth diet' and that is no exaggeration.

We have one stomach, same as Lions and wolves. Of course we are adapted to eat raw meat.

Cows sheep and other herbivores have vastly different digestive systems, so they can live, and be perfectly healthy, eating plants.

(we can't. look at these sickly vegans)

Attached: Mango the Picture of Health.jpg (600x800, 54K)

what if it's a similar case to what it is with consuming fruit juice vs consuming actual fruit where the fiber helps the whole process?
additionally, is it not feasible that ketosis could help with improving cholesterol, even if you are consuming more saturated fat?

Actually the only associations made between our extremely quick rise in intellectual capacity and diet point towards when we started cultivating grain and increasing carb intake, and more mild association with when we began cooking our meat.

I won’t bother taking 10 minutes to research as I’ve already been researching for 9 years. Yes, the color red is said to cause hunger which was the reasoning for McDonald’s and Pizza Hut using red in their name and restaurants. Human eyes have red, green, and blue photo pigments so it is believed that those colors cause instinctual responses when seen, like seeing red would make you think of blood which would make you hungry because humans are hunters. But it still isn’t proven, its just a maybe.

Also, the needing a variety of foods to survive is an idea pushed by the very companies selling you foods. The FDA was bought by big corporations from the start and they have admitted to a sugar corporation paying them to lie about saturated fat being more harmful than carbohydrates. Research that. It’s ridiculous that everyone around us is fat and people are still looking to the dietary guidelines that got them there as a way of fixing it.

John Yudkin was a proponent of a low carb diet and predicted that if the FDA initiated Ancel Keys’ recommended diet that obesity and metabolic disorders and mental disorders would increase in the population. And he wasn’t wrong.

On the other hand, a plant based diet caries lower incidences of mouth cancer
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21282682

Fucking based can I get a quick rundown on the 9 years of research? Does browsing Jow Forums count as research for me?

Attached: memeposter roasting vegans.jpg (1090x463, 67K)

>ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21282682
>need to be a member of the site to actually read the article and see what the setup was
Let me guess, it was a correlational study that compared incidence of mouth cancer with prominent diet. And those with more incidence of mouth cancer (I can't even quote the percentage difference because the abstract doesn't include it) didn't eat a carnivore diet, but simply a Western diet with a greater consumption of red meat.
The problem with these kinds of studies is third variable. This is not enough evidence to conclude that meat consumption causes mouth cancer, only that there is a correlation between the two. There's also a correlation between ice cream sales and crime rate though.
Problem here is that people who eat a Western diet high in red meat despite the advice of mainstream doctors also tend to be more likely to smoke and drink than the health nuts who are only eating plants.
Look up "third variable" and "correlation vs causation" buddy.

>We have one stomach, same as Lions and wolves.
And horses, and rabbits, and rats, oh my.

Attached: digestive tract.jpg (640x640, 91K)

Also if you haven't read this article yourself and posted it anyway shame on you.

Still better science than posting the same youtube clip over and over

Bullshit.
Our brains are 3% of our body weight but use 25% of our body’s cholesterol. There are observational studies showing that low cholesterol leads to a loss in brain mass.
The best study of what led to humans being smarter showed that long chain omega-3 fatty acids caused an increase in brain size. In other words, when humans began to eat more meat they grew because meat is more nutrient dense than plants. And if someone wants to say “but gorillas mostly eat plants and they’re huge” well apes have an enzyme that allows their gut to breakdown plant cellulose into short chain fatty acids that can be used by their brain and body, because the brain needs fats not sugars.

As another aside, the Western diet itself is a "plant based diet". The SAD gets around 70% of its calories from plant sources.

Not really, seeing as both things prove nothing.

>sugar rips arteries
>cholesterol fixes rips

Whut is hierarchy of evidence?

Attached: evidence.png (1498x970, 418K)

Never seen this meme chart before but my point is that the study doesn't prove a causative link between consumption of red meat and mouth cancer, which is true. I don't see why you need to adhere to "evidence tiers" when you can simply apply the basic logic and reasoning faculties old Prometheus gave you.

>I’ve already been researching for 9 year

>But it still isn’t proven, its just a maybe.
Lots of food companies fund studies to prove it. For example we know people feel more full after proteins because there are multiple double-blind studies showing that the group who eats food with hidden protein will eat a lot less.

>needing a variety of foods to survive is an idea pushed by the very companies selling you food
You missed my point, you don't "need" it but your slightly evolved ape brain wants it and we know how to exploit that to make you eat a lot more than you should be eating.

Broscience can be good when it comes to supplements because supplements normally have little evidence behind them when they’re released. So listening to honest accounts and seeing results from human guinea pigs is useful in determining if something works or not but may not tell you about the dangers of using it.

Creatine is currently being studied for its ability to speed up the healing process after injuries, mostly increasing cell proliferation in the brain after a traumatic brain injury. Funny how another ingredient found in meat leads to more brain cells.
