I do not believe that the average man can do 9 pull ups.
>163lbs
>16 strict max
The most ive ever done was 27 as a 130lb skelly

Why don't you believe it? Do you also not believe that the average height is 5'10?

I bet they allowed kipping in those tests.

Because i cant count the number of times ive seen new people come into the gym and be unable to do 1 pull up. Most people are overweight which makes is harder to do, and most people are untrained. I just dont see how the average male bangs out 9 strict pull ups. Hopefully im wrong.

>this thread again

There's no way this study was just pulling people off the street, 90% of girls in the freaking gym can't do 1.

I'd guess that most men cannot do a single pull up.

How many times do we have to go through this? It's an excerpt from a study at a military academy

did you ever consider that most people who can do 9 pullups don't need to go to the gym? so you don't see them there

agreed. there's no way the average obese man can do 9 pull ups

>Can you do more pull ups than average non lifting male?
Yes.
Don't know how many, though. Only do sets like 10-6-6-3-3-3 or something, with different grip positions.
I think I was somewhere between 15 and 20 at some point (and then progressing the numbers down), but I gotta work my way up to that again.

I can do 5x8 with low rest on fat grips, which means if I go all out on the first set I can do at least 10 and if I do it on regular grip then at least 12. At lmao84kg BW.

> Can you do more pull ups than average non lifting male?

Where do the statistics you posted tie into untrained males?

> The Candidate Fitness Assessment (CFA) was developed to measure and evaluate a candidate's potential to successfully complete the physical programs at the United States Naval Academy

I just do 3 sets of 5 with 1plt around me

>his cat can't do 10 strict chest to bar pull ups
Never gonna make it

There is no fucking way the average man can do 9 dead hang pullups. I know Marines who can't do 9 and are forced to PT 5 days a week. I call BS.

The average person is fucking obese, then factor in all the elderly, there is no way this is true

I can do 3 in a row which has taken a few months to build up to

>I always fail because my lower back and sides start failing, way before i feel it in my arms, shoulders or back.
>any tips?

what is CFA?
where is the source?
pretty sure its a troll, but yes I can do 14

are pullups the most unbalanced exercise ever?

the fuck does that even mean

> not doing pull ups with a bar at a 30° angle
Never gonna make it

This sample for this poll was professional athletes

>not needing the gym

when i was 14 year old i could do 10 consecutive pull ups at a bodyweight of 110 lbs UNTRAINED so yeah

I've done 16 @230 after doing like 4 sets of 8, so I imagine I can do 18 fresh.

Where is frenchcore in this chart?

Which military academy? Because at least for the one I went to, the girls average seems right but most guys could do around 13-16, with some crazy gymnastics guys reaching 40

Candidate Fitness Assessment. It's a test for people applying to the US Service Academies (USMA, USNA, and USAFA)

I weigh around 160-170 and can do 15. 20+ was my record.
I don t think I know a single man who can do 1, let alone 9.
Maybe 1 or 2 chin ups...

Can do 5 at 230lbs With a 6'8 wingspan. Not super impressive but I'm proud of it and I train them regularly.

Just a daily reminder this man who smoke and drank beer daily who happen also to be the best oly lifter ever was able to do 32 consecutive pull ups at a bodyweight of 350 lbs

so if you can do at least 70-80 consecutive pull ups at a 230 lbs bodyweight or 200 at a 180 lbs bodyweight your a weakling

He was also on oceans of steroids and from the look of him, coke.

I swear the number get's higher every day.

yeah but who cares if you took lots of storoids and coke you would end worse than you are right now

before dying at age 65 he could barely move, his joints were destroyed from all that heavy lifting

Of course you will.
Heavy lifting like that is horrible for your joints and ligaments.

Also, what does your post have to do with what I and the other person posted.

>deadlift 250kg
>squat 220kg
>bench 130kg
Everything 5x5 and around 15% bf and I still not able to do more than 2 pull-ups. While some twink with 50kg and 6% bf does them easily.

Just do more pullups nigga, deads squat and bench don't train the lats.

I could only do 13 last time the marines came around our gym and had a competition. The time before that I had nearly gotten the 21 (or 24? cant remember) that I needed to win something. All I ended up getting was a lanyard that I left on the ground on accident.
Still I don't believe this shit at all. I doubt the 'average' is even 5 proper ones. Maybe MAYBE 5 shitty kip-up 'pullups'.
Plus there's shit like how the guys doing the competition said some dumb ass shit.
>'you can do them like this too'
>demonstrates doing pullups, then switches to chinups saying we can do either for a 'pullup competition'
>'but these are harder' (referring to chinups)
>me and the guy next to me confused how he could think chins are harder

Naval Academy. And the CFA it mentions is Candidate Fitness Assessment

I can barely do one. I'm at like three chin ups, but I just feel like both of those are my weakest exercises.

180 lbs, 6'0". I can do 20 strict then my form breaks down more and more

Attached: 1547535317571.jpg (1000x750, 129K)

Makes sense. On my CFA I only did like 7 because I was a complete Skelly, by the end of my doolie year at USAFA I could do like 15. So the average on the CFA is probably a lot lower than the average for an Academy, but also a lot higher than the average American

Fake news, the average is 3.

190lbs
+90 weighted
5x5 with 45 seconds rest

Gotta get dat back

best at pullups than anyone ive ever met.
71kg bodyweight
1 x handed pullup
6 x with 40kg added
28 x bodyweight

the average number of pullups a man can do is probably like 0.5

no fucking way in hell even 5% of women can do a single pull up. i would bet it's more like only 1% or less can do a single strict full ROM pull up

> not being able to do 4 sets of 15 wide grip pull ups
> making it

Choose one. Better not be using your legs for help either, user

This is definitely bullshit. The average woman can't do a single pullup, and the average man can probably do like 3 at most. Probably less considering all the lardasses that exist.

When i was 12 i could talk to any woman i wanted without sperging out so yeah.

i can do 8 full clean crisp pullups and got called cute by a girl recently

tfw making it bros, not interested in that woman but eventually more will come

average nonlifting person cant do even one

are you 'aving yourself a giggle mate?

>cute
>thinking this is a compliment
the absolute state of Jow Forums

191lbs
+91 weighted
6x6 with 44 seconds rest

You're never gonna make it!

well I let her suck my dick whenver she wants which is always and she very much wants to fuck me but im not interested like that

seems like a compliment to me bro

i'm assuming you spend lots of money on her? And she's cheating on you

wow if i get a set of 5 clean ones i consider that good.

i'm 200lbs tho.

no i spend no money on her at all, we just work together and she comes over some nights

and shes actually married but estranged, and we arent even in a relationship lol we just netflix and dick sucking on occasion

cool story bro

>5'10, 220lbs

KEEP GOING

Not a fucking word of it. The majority of sedentary males (and females) couldn't do one pull up.

>wide grip
>not adding weight

Yikes

also shorter than everyone you've ever met haha

on average people who go to the gym are in better shape than on average people who don't go to the gym.

there is no way average guy does 9 pull-ups. i would say its closer to 3-4 range

No, but I have a higher level of fitness than most humans, even fairly active ones.

Looking to improve vastly the coming months.

Not a hope

The average male can’t even do one here in Oklahoma.

the male avg is bullshit and the female avg is complete bullshit

I can perform 15 clean ones but cant push it further. How to get to 20?

hopping on to agree both numbers are completely false. I climb regularly, there are females that have been at my gym consistently for a few months and still can't do 3 pullups.
Oh. Seems much more believable, tho I'd expect the male number especially to be higher at the Naval Academy... all my friends in the Navy/Corps can pump out 25+, but they also climb and are high-speed dudes so

Average is literally zero. If you can do one you are above average. There is a commercial on tv now with 2 girls dangling from a ledge and the humor only makes sense if you take it for granted that neither could do one pullup.

At 205 I can do 15. Maybe I should join the Marines. Not like I'm doing much here.
