I used hooks to train around a wrist issue but it didn't work so meh hooks are ghey and regular old straps work just fine

Straps are fine. I bought them recently and for the first time I failed a deadlift because of my back and not my grip strength. I only do overhand grip though.

Ehh no not really if you’re maintaining good form and locking your tricep on the supinated hand. You should also be training your biceps to handle heavy loads under tension at full extension just like when you’re mixing your grip. Weighted chins and heavy barbell curls are good for this, just lock those triceps into place.

Also warming up the hand you’ll be supinating for max loads is a good idea to prevent a bicep tear. If you supinate your left hand, warm up that mixed grip with the same hand.

Bruh ur workng sets should be super doable with double overhand

My working sets are close to 400 and my double overhand grip gives out around 315. I don’t really do any grip work though other than heavy rows, pull/chinups, shrugs, etc.

The only way you can tear a bicep is if you try to lift way more than you actually can and activate your arms because you are desperate to get it up
