Realistically, Fat does turn into muscle. Your body pulls energy from fat before anything else, aside from whatever you've eaten. Most people think they need to burn the fat before they can build the muscle, and most people are fucking retarded.

How much cardio would kill your gains exactly? I guess I’m trying to find the fine balance of gains/fat loss. Right now I’m doing 30 min of cardio when I get to the gym, working out for an hour, and 30 min of cardio before I leave. Is that too much?

Usually 20 minutes ia recommended, depending on what body type ypu are you could handle 25 or even 30 minites before sacrficing muscle gains. Also depends on the time you consume your post workout protein shake (anabolic window can be exploited after cardio too, but be sure to drink all protein within seven minutes)

Guess I should be more specific, I basically do 30 min of walking as a warmup/cool down. Usually try to burn 300 cal total. Basically bitch cardio, is that fine for what I’m going for or do I need to go harder to get that balance?

You can out train a bad diet. Exercising will givey you some leeway, but you can easily out eat whatever workout you do. Give me a 5 hours, and I'd fuck up a dozen colossal donuts. Each donut is between 350-400 calories. It would take hours and hours of cardio to work that off.

That was literally me before I started tracking my food. I always ate when I was hungry, until I was full and never restricted myself. So to me it really felt like I was eating plenty. Turns out I just don't have a big appetite. Now I basically force feed myself every day. Doesn't feel healthy but otherwise I would go straight back to skelly mode.
