I don't even have weights, I just lift my dog and my chair.
This is basically it.
>Rig chairs together so that foot pedal can trigger the levers on the chairs
>Never need a spotter
>Can press lever to lower weight to chest then press to catch it at full extension.
That's absolutely fucking brilliant I need to do some shopping.
>No other sizes of this image found.
hahahaha holy fuck dude just join a gym
I got a shit tier golds gym "bench" and a captains chair pull-up bar combo from a garage sale. I squat by putting bar in the captains chair dip handles, and clipping them off with dumbell clips.
Bruh
How heavy is your do tho

This setup nearly killed me the other day, was at the end of my set and I went to "rack" the bar and one of the chairs rolled away.
I'm say there with my noodle arms worn out and 40KG on my chest, but managed to force a situp and drop the bar on my lap.
So yeah, chock the chairs or something
Some people literally cannot, not everyone has access to a planet fitness or can join a commercial gym which can cost $50 a month easy.
my local gym is £40 a month, I can barely afford to eat currently. I got the bar and 66kg of weights off facebook for £20
see
Same issue here, I just got semi lucky with equipment. Had some help getting stuff from my dad when I was younger.
Past that I've used the exact same home "gym" in my garage for years with shit tier acrylic meme weights and adjustable dumbbells. It's pretty humble but it works for what I do and what not. You can usually find used equipment pretty cheap on Facebook and Craigslist, if you can set money aside it's a great way to get stuff.
Doesn't look half bad as long as you can rack the bar somewhere and have a decent amount of plates
yeah I've got a alert set up for a bench but until then it's piano bench and office chairs
Im not going to use actual chairs, but the piston component is genius because just one can support ~300 lbs so one each side can support close to 600 lbs. All you need is to put a platform on the piston and maybe some heavy duty rubber like a deadlift deadener on each platform and there you have it.
If you get flat back chairs they come with all the bits separate anyway, all you would need is some kind of solid base to stick em on and a suitable topper.
If you rigged up a bar between the adjuster arms it should work pretty good, might see if I can modify my chairs for auto-spotting
You can buy the components for the chairs (the gas cylinder and seat base) for around $50 on Amazon too. So basically I'd need to either bolt or weld the base in place so it can't lean back ever. Then I could simply put a piece of metal. A basic iron plate with 4 tapped holes to bolt the plate in place through the bottom. I think I can do this.
Is it possible to DIY a squat rack? I've got the bar and weights, but no rack
Starting on my home gym, getting a power rack from Amazon for my birthday. Getting pretty excited.
tell your fat cat to work out some
Go to gym. It’s part of the experience. You know, never getting to know anyone, making awkward eye contact, and thinking up what to say to gym thots but never saying hi.
Fellow poorfag w/home gym here. When I have to squat I simply do a OHP and then put the weights on my shoulders.
It limits the squads to my OHPs 1RM (which is 80kg at the moment) and I have to do low weight / high rep squads, but better this than doing nothing I guess.
Squats* fucking autocorrection
>this is the only home gym thread on Jow Forums right now
fuck, I am looking to start one and was hoping there was a general with a buyer's guide, I live in an apartment but just rented a storage unit after clearing it with the staff to lift there. so now I need a power rack and plates and whatnot
I was going to gold's for a little while as a noob but I hate it there because it's constantly packed and people act like assholes, I need my own space for sanity and time constraints. wat do
How do you get out of the squat? Just lift it again?
I have crippling anxiety about being a fatass, I can't do to the gym until I'm less obese
Also monetary constraints
>absolute unit cat lost cousin
weight train cat
both of you leave human/catkind behind
post progress pics
The bench press is like the meme exercise to men that the hip thrust is to women lmao
Fuck everyone, OP. Good for you.
Gouda is also on a weight loss regimen, hadn't considered getting her shredded...
You think weighed jacket or little boots?
Yeah, basically. Inertia + negative range of motion helps a lot.
The hardest part is the initial OHP.
...
>80 kilo OHP
OP here, my 5x5 OHP is 24kg currently, 80KG is my goal 5x5. It's about the weight of a Land Rover gearbox (I'm a mechanic, getting stronk is largely so I can do my work better)
Cheers bros
I literally get my shit off facebook marketplace, you can find some cracking deals on the cheap
That's a good idea. Is it any good? or all shit?
Nice homemade guillotine dude lmfao dafuk
I made a diy rack in my backyard back in october, it's working fine but I would just get a powerrack if I were to do it over (and I might at some point)
I can post more pictures if you're interested
Wait how do you rack your shit after benching in the meantime
underrated post
Lightweight baby!
I've o lying had the bar for about two weeks, so nothing but dumbbells before then and still mostly now.
I do bodyweight exercises and bought a 40 dollar pullup bar that goes in a doorway. Gyms are great but my nearest gym is a 15 min drive there and 15 back its also 70 dollars a month granted its very nice. There is an inshape about 20 mins away thats 35 a month .
I save about 30 mins a day/ 2 dollars a day in gas + wear and tear on my car , and 40-70 dollars a month by just lifting at home. Started that 2 months ago and have used that extra 40-70 I woulda spent on a gym on a pullup bar last month, this month i got a kettlebell. The first month i just did bodyweight exercises and curls with a 25 pound bag of beans I put in a backpack. The convenience and time + money saved is worth working out at home especially if your goal is to build a beautiful strong body . I would recommend a gym if you decided you need to sqaut 500 pounds often for some reason and need access to large amounts of expensive olympic equipment, or if your living in your car and need daily showering area.
Gym is 70 a month, it is literally cheaper for me to but 1$ per pound weights
literally nobody said anything negative lmao
Fellas how much could a bar like this hold, currently 225 2 inch hole.
im guessing it'll start bending between 300 and 400 pounds
be careful not to crack your tiles user
I do hip thrusts. Never had my glutes targeted that well before.
Neither did your girl but then Tyrone came around
thank you
I mostly use it outside, but it's cold now.
Post more pictures
I dug a two foot hole in the ground for each post (you can add some gravel to the bottom for better drainage if you want) make sure the holes are spaced far enough apart to get a good wide grip on the bar but close enough that you don't need to be positioned perfectly to rerack
then I set the pressure treated posts with fence post concrete (if I were to do it over again I would try using high strength concrete because this stuff has some fissures already) make sure your posts are not just plumb (level) but also squared with each other so that the bar will sit right up against the post
after the concrete had set overnight I took another two posts and cut them to what I estimated I would want for a rack height (I ended up shortening them later because I had never lifted before and didn't know what I was doing) I put a 45 degree angle on the top of each post and cut one inch off the angle
I attached the two shorter posts to the ones I had already set using carriage bolts with nuts, washers, and lock washers.
wah-la
I also added a galvanized pipe to the top to add some stability and as a pullup bar
oh I forgot to mention the main post that I set in the ground are ten footers so they come up eight feet above ground
>wah-la
its voila my dude
those sayings are a diamond dozen
>get weight set
>push up
>chairs drift away
>no rack
>arms starting to wobble
>wat do?!?!
pls don't do this OP
or do it on livestream
>wah-la
you're adorable
See OP will lose his head one day.
Lost my gym membership couple weeks ago, too expensive for my broke ass. No weights around the house, so I filled my backpacks with rocks.

I got 10k saved up but i use an iron gym pullup bar to workout at home
gyms are trash
you can get a rep fitness pr-1100 that is "blemished" (light surface rust in the upright posts) for $149 and then get a row and lat cable for another 150... 700lb rated.
same as what I have in the pic
Oh shit you're the gazebo gym guy from a thread the other week.
Nice handiwork with the squat rack there.
Do you think he sets up a sleeping bag under that rig and sleeps there?
how much weight can one of these bad boys hold?
thanks my guy
only when preparing for the stalker games
can't really say for sure because I'm only squatting 185 lbs but it seems to do just fine with that
Surely cut that grass tho, would make the backyard look that much better
Why do it over again for a power rack when you can modify the existing? In my expert artwork I showed a few ideas. First one is a recessed 3/4 inch bolt with a nut on the other side, the second would be a similarly sized pipe connected to wood with bushings on both sides. Concrete could be put into the pipes for rigidity. Numerous holes and bushings could be made ot make it modular.
Jesus fucking christ
Nah man... just, just don't.
Get that portable dip station
is this a meme
Craigslist my guy, I founds a squat rack, bench press, 2 barbells, 540lbs of playes, ez curl bar, dip station, utility bench, and a couple dumbbells on craigslist for $500. Probably a once-in-a-lifetime deal though. The guy was getting off house arrest the day after I picked it up and was planning on moving out of state.
I use the box that came with a combo dumbell weight set ages ago as a bench. It surprisingly works well. Other than that a 70 euro squat rack 20 pull up bar but probably about 300 euro in weights tho through the years.
I like your expert drawing haha
the main reason I wouldn't do it the same if I did it over again is that the cost of the lumber and galvanized pipe pullup bar ended up being barely under the cost of an entry level rack. don't get me wrong I enjoyed making it myself and I'm happy with how it turned out, it's just not as versatile as a power rack would be and I overestimated how much money I would save
Yeah looking to get one of these Fitness Reality 810XLT Super Max Power Cage with 800lbs Weight Capacity amazon.com
Paint your walls you fucking gay
In the process of finishing the basement
uh you wont be dying benching anything less than like 80kg big guy
t. 60kg retard who dropped 70kg on his throat once then benched it for reps 30 2 mins later
