How do I safely do an extended fast?
>Take snake juice, or just supplement electrolytes.

i'm the 5'10 175lb porker from the last thread and i'm doing OMAW. i should be down to ~155lbs in just 5 weeks and i SHOULD retain a lot of muscle. if you're 15% or below OMEOD/OMAD is probably the way to go but if your abs arent visible i'd say just send it with longer fasts, you'll get shredded long before april

I have been doing OMAD and dry fasting on weekends, is it really necessary to keep doing fasting?
I am a 5'11 ft manlet with 162 lb, don't really know my fat percentage but I guess it's around 15%-20%

I used to be a 190 lb lardass pig some 3 months ago but I think I'm not that fat anymore.......

Also I tried lifting but it's very hard for me. Is there any benefits by keep doing intermittent fasting or just lift and bulk?

I was wondering when the effects of autophagy started and how long I should go to get the supposed healing effects from it for my shitty lungs. My bloodsugar is at 5 which should be fine. I was diagnosed with diabetes last year which sucked hard but it shouldn't be a problem since i'm not taking metformin during the fast.

I'm surprised. I tried a 2 day fast a couple of weeks ago, liked it just fine, and and thought I'd incorporate 3x48hr fasts per week on my rest days. I started my first fast on Mon night and was planning on breaking it this morning (it's Wed night atm), but I didn't have any appetite and I felt fine all of today.

I've been taking sodium and potassium (I let myself get K deficient that first time a couple of weeks ago), and I honestly think I can keep going quite a while. I may even see if I can stretch it until Sun morning and break it then with pork and eggs, since I have two consecutive training days on Sun/Mon and that probably would be too much for mys system.

If that works then I may just make a 5 day fast spanning Tue-Sun a thing for the next couple of months.

My last meal was one of these with a pound of fake crab(not sure if that's too many carbs for keto, they add sugar for some reason) and I simply have not been hungry since. That was maybe 30 hours ago?

Anyone else find fasting to be easier than a normal diet? And I don't mean like in the sense that you don't have to count calories or whatever, but when I'm eating "clean" there's always that temptation, that salivating and hunger. With fasting I just put it out of my mind as much as possible and go as long as possible and when I do refeed I eat like a king.

Cole says that insulin helps us heal but doesn't it also permanently damage blood vessels? I think that's the main reason people opt for keto or carnivore, because heart disease is the biggest killer.

There is more room to mess up regular diets. The only thing in terms of weight loss you can mess up in a fast is weight loss. Add to this that you have more hunger during a normal diet as you aren't hungry after 4 days of fasting for the rest of teh fast.

I noticed that on OMAD its actually easy to overeat but on OMEOD, my appetite decreases and can't even go over a single day's TDEE

This might just be a sorry excuse but i find it troublesome bringing the snek juice with me to uni during the day. I got a 4L water bottle for home, but bringing that with me would be rather silly. Should i just drink normal water during the day?

Not to take the depressing route but I simply don't have a lot of control over my circumstances right now. I'm at school, away from home, having a lot of trouble finding work fulltime outside of school plus I need to be preparing for my future with internships and what not. I only have a couple of summer classes and one more semester after this. I'm away from my gf of more than 5 years and my family and don't want to go back home but miss them, plus we have very shaky relationships. My health is always up and down. Right not money is short so not paying for food is a big plus.

I don't know. Fasting is simply something I can control. Every 12 hours I can watch the scale go down and my waistline decrease and it's motivating. Having control over my willpower and appetite is one thing I have over the majority of the population.

It's nice to have dates to look forward to as well. My gf is coming out here in about a week. I'm fasting until she gets here which gives me an end in sight. something to look forward to. Whatever unhealthy weight i gain back from celebrating with her I know i can just take off again with fasting. Idk. it makes life simpler.

How about your health? Seriously man don't underestimate what an impact that will make down the line. People that have to retire at 65 have to do so because they've fucked up their bodies their whole life. If you're living to retire you're just living to die, which has no point.

Your problem is finding purpose. You probably have a lot of addictions, food being one of them, to distract you from the obligations in your life that you dislike. Instead of fixing those problems, you go back to your addictions, and its this neverending paradox.

It's very difficult and emotionally challenging, but the goal should be breaking down those addictions, going back to why you have them and what it is you're stomping out with them. Walk them back to the beginning.

Work towards changing your circumstances. Focus on living and not just surviving. It sounds like the internet may be inhibiting you more than helping you. Might be best to start there taming that issue once you get your health under control.

Giving in because you don't have anything to live for is going to solve just as few of your issues, except you'll be sick and dying faster.
