Can I just start bulking on a low carb diet, and lose the fat in the process, or do I need to cut until I'm a healthy weight then bulk?

Recently turned 18, last November I was self harming and 225lbs at 5'7, today I'm 170lbs and happy. Luckily I have no super visible marks left over from the cutting, just faint lines on my forearms. I've been making mental and physical gains recently and I've been getting a lot happier about myself. Going thrift shopping tomorrow with my friend so I'll finally get new clothes since mine don't fit me

Fine. Day one, boys. No excercise other than wrenching 8+ hours a day for the past year and a half. Currently 130lbs. Gonna go for 150ish lbs to see how that feels.

Started jogging yesterday (I’m fit but my endurance is shit), haven’t eaten fast food in a week (used to be every day), gonna start weight training and eating more protien in the coming weeks.

That's a great amount to lose in a month, just make sure you're exercising etc but try and get protein. Getting enough protein is a big challenge for us weight loss Bros since we just can't eat as much as these bulkers

Here's my graph, if you look closely you can see that I had a very obvious plateau at the start, but something changed in the month of October and the line starts rushing down.

I did CICO only, and I drink only water.

What I'm about to tell you isn't the most profound advice in the world, but it helped me. You literally just have to want it. Do you want to eat an extra donut or do you want a fit, healthy body? This is discipline, and if you stick with it, it will eventually catch on with you like it did with me. Try try and if you mess up don't stop trying because that's the only way to truly fail.

If you're wondering about my diet, it's a lot of just normal shit. Occasionally I'll have nuts, some days cereal, usually I'll have some eggs for breakfast since they're easy and they have protein.

About 205, 6'0, scale says around 22% bodyfat, caliper gives around 19% or so doubt, its any more accurate.

I been sitting at 205 for a long time now despite going to gym and doing lots of cardio. I tend to binge eat heavily at night which is why i haven't made much progress, but i've been slowly tapering off medications and its helping a bit. Started doing calisthenics recently. I have a full gym in my basement but just dont care anymore i want to do fun things.

I just want to get shredded, then consider things from there.

5'4" started at 170 last June
am now 118 as of yesterday

going to stop cutting at 110 and start lifting myself back to about 130. I'm hoping I'll find a decent muscle/fat ratio somewhere between, as long as I have a 23" waist, I will be happy.

I wish I had someone to report progress to, that actually cared, of course. That caveat is the clincher.

Diagnosed with neck hernia and visited family in a span of 2.5 months, no lifting no bjj. Gained 10 lbs and got much fluffier.

I am thinking of lifting 3 days/week phraks gslp, grappling 4-6 days/week. Do I cut or somehow recomp? How do I even recomp everybody says something else

Recomping is just eating maintennance and lifting I think. Not cutting/bulking. Good for beginners because you can put on muscle easier.

Chronological from left to right, top to bottom.

Top left was 3 years ago or so, was around 115lbs here.
Started lifting seriously in March-ish of 2018. Top right is late July, right before starting a bulk. 135lbs here or so?
Bottom left is one month after, at around 140-145.
Bottom right is a couple months after that. 160lbs. Really not very much aesthetic change these past few months, but my lifts have gone up a combined 150+lbs in the past 3-4 months.

Here's legs. I feel like most of my bulking weight went here. First pic is 2ish years ago. My legs looked like that up until 4 months ago or so. Second pic is recent, within the past month.

Squat has gone from 205lb 1RM to 285lb 1RM, Deadlift from 225lb to 295.
