Miyamoto Musashi

Was he the most fit person to ever live?

Greatest swordsman alive
Philosopher
Master strategist
Artist
Never lost a fight
Completely self trained and self taught
Dual-Wielded before it was cool
Would throw his swords like ninja stars
Trained every day even after he retired
Died standing up with a sword in one hand and a cane in the other.

The book of the 5 rings should be mandatory reading

William Marshal would fuck him up

There is a cool graphic novel version I read which inspired me to read more about him!

I had a great version of it years ago, every other translation I’ve seen has been trash.

Go read vagabond user. It's one of the greatest manga.

It's not worth it man, I'm legitimately sad that I'll never see it end
>will never see the sasaki fight in that amazing artstyle

Not sure if he was the most Jow Forums but he was an absolute madman

Jow Forums Yes. The most fit is a stretch

How is he self taught and never lost a fight? He had to get experience somehow but an untrained person would always lose to a trained one.
Did he just beat up village idiots for xp same as how I farm boars in the woods in wow?

read a wikipedia article brainlet. holy fuck the spoon feeding never ends on this site and anons wonder why they look like shit, think like shit and live like shit.

self taught is trained.
untrained is not the same as self taught. seriously i hope people like you are culled.
at 13 he killed a trained samurai who was in his mid 20's.

>(X) Doubt

Self taught is the same as some nyr coming here from b with his own routine.
This jap was a chose an just paid people to write good stories about himself so he could fap to them.
If you must take one thing from him, let it be ancestor worship, but make it your own, not some eleven from half the world away ya weeb

sasaki loses :^)

god you're a retard

Why?
It's literally about sword fighting.

>Completely self trained and self taught
What?
No
He was trained by his adoptive father, you dunce
His adoptive father was the guy who invented his two sword style too, Musashi just perfected it

dude you are a brainlet. self taught defeating those formally trained is the a sign of genius and usually a precursor to the birth of a new style completely.

lord hien

>Never lost a fight

False. After he spared spearbro's life in a duel spearbro developed a new fighting style dueled Musashi again and defeated him. naturally he also spared musashi

Lol a Greek Hoplite or Roman Legionary would btfo any of these gooks 1 on 1

Thats not Hanmasama :)

Not even a weeb, but you're aware that hoplites worked so well because of the phalanx right?
They were part of a whole, if you ever got to a point where hoplites were fighting one on one, you knew that your army was beyond fucked.

Ultimate warrior tested Greek Hoplite vs Asian warriors and the Hoplite won every time. This is in 1v1 with professional combat faggots.

>ultimate warrior

Why not?

Great swordsman, but i seriously wonder what hed be able to do against a plate covered knight with say a board n sword/greatsword

What full covered knights in armour with shields and swords be able to do against the mighty 2 meter stick?

Glad I'm not the only one that thought of this haha

>He had to get experience somehow but an untrained person would always lose to a trained one.
In reality:
>Ricky Hatton got mugged by thugs in China
>Amir Khan got beaten up by Chavs in Birmingham.
>Yuri Vlasko got killed by some gypsies.

>Self taught is the same as some nyr coming here from b with his own routine.
Shut up.

You want to hear the truth? Self taught martial arts are better than being taught by a bad coach. I speak from experience. And most coaches are bad.

>Ultimate warrior tested Greek Hoplite vs Asian warriors and the Hoplite won every time. This is in 1v1 with professional combat faggots.
Sigh, Americans.

For some real truth, here you go.
This is the only big to-the-death battle of trained fencers vs real samurai (that we know of).

en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=1582_Cagayan_battles&oldid=848211375

40 Rodeleros from Spain (admittedly among the best, if not the best fencers of Europe) versus
1000 Ronin Samurai.
Fencers won easily and only lost 10 people.

For a good laugh, have the newest version of the site:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1582_Cagayan_battles
Weeaboos got so butthurt about this battle, they changed the number of Spanish fighters from
>40 soldiers
to
>1000-2000 soldiers and sailors

bwahaha, nips on suicide watch

He had about three years of training from his father (a master swordsman) from age 5 to 8 (approximately, because we aren't certain when he was born). It seems very likely he had at least some instruction from others, since he was a member of the samurai caste and they were expected to train a lot. He also had the advantage of being unusually big and strong and incredibly determined, unafraid of danger and apparently uninhibited by any sense of empathy (i.e. he was likely what we would call a sociopath).

Those all seem like fights won by people who have some experience of violence at least, and possibly formal training, plus the advantage of numbers.

Still, an untrained fighter can be dangerous, especially with weapons and surprise or a battlefield where the environment is chaotic and the trained guy may be tired or even wounded before getting jumped by the untrained.

>tips fedora

There's only one correct answer. This based chink started fighting at age 6 and never lost a fight until death. His one-inch punch could throw a 220-pound man a distance of 16 feet.

samurais didn't use shields literally any trained european troop from a hoplite to a rodelero would destroy those faggots

the rodeleros had guns, retard

You guys ever play Brave Fencer Musashi? I love that game.

Musashi would have his face ripped off by SPANISH BVLLS; Musashi was a first-rate propagandist, the real swordsmen were Italians and Spaniards.

Chop his head off

>That quote
That's fucking retarded. There are a lot of outside influences that can help you. Hell, roids is an example of something being outside of yourself that makes you stronger.

First you'll have to get past his overpowered jump strike with a two meter stick

Imagine missing the point this much

Based post OP
Musashi is one of my heroes and I’ve learned much from his writings

Highly doubt.
Musashi was the Bill Belichick of Samurai.

It’s about way more than sword fighting user. It’s about discovering yourself, conquering yourself, and improving yourself.

He was likely one of the most /SIG/ people.
I haven't seen much on Jow Forums on swordman training and the impact on your body though.

>spanjolen
[Laughs in Dutch formation]

what was the title?

you will never get to see this fight drawn by Takehiko Inoue
