shitposts on Jow Forums mostly

i haven't read a book since 2015

I know one thing that Jow Forums doesn't read; the sticky.

>insecure righttard manlet who struggled with his homosexuality before doing an epic fail an an heroing

Why is Jow Forums unironically obsessed with this guy? He is the definition of beta male..

Attached: 51fC5hnlueL._SX337_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg (339x499, 46K)

Nothing right now but I think I'll pick up "Kahnemann - thinking fast and slow" next.

/fit isnt, its just /pol leaking a bit
I currently read how to win friends and influence people by Carnegie

Attached: 1549877020014.jpg (640x640, 136K)

I have never read a book in my life.

Attached: 1549759750492.jpg (1024x607, 119K)

Let's stop being cynical for a moment and admit that he is pretty badass

He became famous for writing about his struggle being a closet homo, led a failed uprising that people literally laughed at and ignored, then killed himself because of all his fail.. How is that badass compared to like a billion other people?

Id prefer Musashi

Attached: 1511770144250.jpg (600x600, 67K)

Musashi lived his principles. Didn't wash, didn't have a wife (or I assume girlfriend) and went round killing people in duels.

The Iliad

A man with virtue and self discipline who valued his believes higher than his own life.
It isn't about what he achieved, its about who he was.

A million times this. Miyamoto Musashi. A legit Nip badass. Mishima isn't even in the top ten of Nip warrior philosophers. Let alone if you include non-Nips like Marcus Aurelius ffs.

Attached: flat,550x550,075,f.u1.jpg (458x550, 31K)

>who he was

An insecure closeted fag who failed and an heroed?.. Soz brah I'll stick with Musashi or Aurelius. Jow Forumstards are weird. Go on about alphaness but pic the biggest most insecure beta man-child losers as icons like Mishima and Trump over legit accomplished badasses.

my diary desu

This.

Mishima is like an older version of Elliot Roger
>Blogged about his trivial personal problems as though it was profound and unique instead of dealing with it like everyone else
>Tried to make some epic last stand which just resulted in being laughed at as a pathetic faggot

just read a couple books from murakami. reading neuromancer next. it helps cardio go by so much faster.

Neuromancer is total dogshit don't bother. Gibson's writing is like cringy deviant art fanfic

So much this lmao. Why does that shit get so much praise?

> led a failed uprising that people literally laughed at and ignored, then killed himself because of all his fail

It was all planned, his plan was to fail all along on purpose so he could off himself that way

>A million times this.
kys redditard

It was groundbreaking at the time. It's become cliché in the decades since.

>What does Jow Forums read?

Your gf's messages that she sends me

>jks on u guiz i meant to fail and look like a retard

Yup sounds like a Jow Forumstard.

Mixed bag. Mostly a variety of fiction, sometimes classics, sometimes pulpy fantasy like Robin Hobb. I try and read a book a month that’s related to either my career or personal finances on top of the fiction I read. I also have a few fun coffee table books tangentially related to my career that I flip through with friends sometimes (I’m a regional land-use planner and the coffee table books are about the history of mapping, and about changing city scapes, with plenty of Color plates and aerial photographs).

he failed so he could harakiri himself, do you even read his bio?

Currently, Financial Reporting Through the Lens of a Property/Casualty Actuary by Odomirok. Kinda boring, would not recommend.

Because it plausibly intermeshed a lot of topics concerning the future that were on people's minds at the time. It would be one thing to envision the outcome of increasingly powerful corporations, the impacts of computing, or a world shaped by ecologic decay and a stunted WW3, but it's another to actually combine those subjects in a relevant fashion.

Even if the actual mechanisms of cyberspace were off, and Japanese economic dominance wilted, the book still feels like a relevant harbinger of the future three decades later.

he was gay and was scared of kendo students because they yelled all the time lmao

>I currently read
Wow, it must be a struggle when English is your second language. That book should only take 1-3 days to read. It is well worth the read though.

Book of the Five Rings is unironically my favourite audio book. I listened to that non-stop in grad school when I was doing my thesis, it really helped me focus and allocate my time correctly. I haven’t read or listened to it now in a few years but I really love it.

>Jow Forumstard

Based. App name?

20th/21st century history and geopolitics. The Syrian conflict was great procrastination material back in grad school, and this eventually turned into general interest in realpolitik and conflict in the developing world.

Right now I'm sitting on books that deal with post-colonial Africa, and the civil wars/conflicts in those various nations.

Harry Potter fanfics, adult rated. No only because of cummies but also for the topics treated, like child abuse, rape, violence, etc.

re-reading The Witcher series

probably gonna read 1984, Fahrenheit 451 afterwards

Currently reading "The History of Western Philosophy" by Bertrand Russell. So far he has described mathematics the way arnie describes lifting, so its bretty gud.

Fuck you neuromancer is the shit. Only book better than neuromancer is dune.

Also currently reading Carnegie. Goes a bit slow because I reread the chapters, as recommended in the book, but the results are already pouring in.

I've become much less of a vindictive seething beta. Still beta, but at least pleasant to be around.

Deep work by carl newport

Reading is for nerds. You can use that time to improve yourself.

I read through all my old texts that me and my ex used to send to each other cause i miss her so much man but she dont love me no more man

Elements of Statistical Learning

I like to read fanfics for universes that I like but that ended up having shit stories in the original works. Fics where the characters actually act competent and such. Got any HP recs?

Neeerd.

Its translated in germoney but the title is even gayer. Really great book

I unironically got Starting Strength

>Reads the Witcher

Tasteless fag detected

Asimov

Been reading Voltaire recently, feel like I should be reading more and watching tv less tho

fanfiction.net/s/12058516/1/T he-Reclamation-of-Black-Magic < pretty good alternate universe where HPs grandmother doesn't die but was in a comma
fanfiction.net/s/12525734/1/The-Right-of-Conquest < can get pretty dark at times, but it's a kind of realistic portrait of a how a bunch of post war young adult deal with the aftermath
archiveofourown.org/works/14253384/chapters/32871009 < Smut. Nice smut with a dash of plot.
archiveofourown.org/works/10691892/chapters/23678604 < This one's pretty good IMO, Voldemort legally adopts HP. Yup.
archiveofourown.org/works/14695419/chapters/33957573 < fem!HP
. Good stuff as well.

A lot of the shit I read has homo in it (as in, HP takes it in the ass plenty) but I left those out. Curiously, I either like stories where my nigga Harry is either a bottom bitch with a prostate that attracts fat cocks, or he'd kind of a cassanova. Which reminds me, one with cucking if you are into that.
archiveofourown.org/works/4413323/chapters/10023830
Many fics have been lost to the time, unfinished gems. Like that guy that wrote nice incest and plot, but got caught by friend/relative and panic nuked his stuff.

I read historical books about settlers and their misery. It takes brave people to build a country

Read brave new world instead of fahrenheit

Mein kampf, next is Marx and Engels, maybe some Stalin after

haha you're funny user. No girl wants a nigga like me

F451 is better than brave new world. 1984 is the stupidest one out of the three

Attached: musashi.png (1439x809, 958K)

I’ve been reading boxers biographies and autobiographies. I think my favorite so far was Smokin’ Joe, the autobiography of Joe Frazier

I don't

He's a billionaire president who lives in all your nightmares, pretty sure that qualifies as accomplished.

>Considered one of the greatest authors of the twentieth century.

Mostly manga and a few light novels. Some recent stuff I have read are amanga that based henreader is drawing, repicking up Pandora Hearts and I'm going to finally finish SZS.
Fahrenheit 451 was great.

I'm reading Brave New World, The Strange Death of Europe, and Meditations right now. All pretty based even though they're memes

What's wong with his nihle?

Don’t gift me anymore books, because I don’t read them

This is my recent library haul

Imagine unironically reading books lmao
what's wrong with you people

Attached: Bronze.png (543x564, 470K)

Do comics count?

>Currently reading pic related

I'm really big into history, mostly about ancient cultures, but it really depends. Read all of the Indiana Jones prequel novels in a row as a break from all the nonfiction. I read Jackie Chan's autobiography in one sitting - great read.

If y'all want any good recs, I can help. I actually own almost every Mishima book - I read his biography first and he seemed interesting to me.

>If you haven't read Arnold's autobiography, you're wrong

Attached: 9780670881468_p0_v1_s550x406.jpg (288x406, 16K)

I've reread the Lord of the Rings more than anything. James bond, Hillbilly elegy, Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy, autobiographies of like Teddy Roosevelt.

BAP is cringe. So are the rest of the alt-right twitter satirist Twitter zone. Even Kantbot just posts half-hearted shitposts now.

Mein Kampf

Somewhat meme book, but still pretty good if you like history

based and stickypilled
