I used to listen to music when I lifted. I stopped doing that, and just repeated the mantra "you are user, user is not allowed to be weak." And my lifts improved.

Then I met a qt3.14 and married her and my mantra became "you are Mrs. user's husband, Mrs. user's husband is not allowed to be weak." And my lifts improved.

We just had our first child, a little baby boy with a firm grip and a good appetite, and my mantra became "you are user Jr.'s father, user Jr.'s father isn't allowed to be weak." And in spite of minimal sleep, and all my routines being thrown off, my lifts improved.

So, clearly, all you have to do is get a series of mantras and your lifts will improve. You don't even need music.
