try it yourself on heavy squats, it's much better to keep some air in to produce tension in the abdomen by breathing only through the nose.

Well cortisol is a steroid hormones, what cardio does is elevate it DURING the workout and then release a copious amount when you hit the aerobic phase.
Which is benefitial because your harmones will not be affected through recoverying process yada yada anabolic and canabloic phase etc etc.. Something something, cardio isn't bad at all.
