Wasn't me who responded, but yeah, this is exactly what happened. Told several people involved in this that they needed to abide by the law, read it with them, and got, "I can see how you might think that, user" Then spoke to the single manager holding it up after strong arming everyone else into literally following the fucking law. Guy hated me. Told me to get bent, so I explained, very slowly, that their exposure on this was easily north of $500k the way the law was written, and would bring an EEOC investigation into a site that just internally battled a sexual harassment claim and a selective enforcement one. Then told him how it was traceable solely back to him.

Guy basically told me to try my best. I did. From what I hear from old co-workers, he was canned almost immediately for getting into a dick measuring contest with me that cost them a stupid amount of money. HR got a shake up as well for covering for him.
