How do I safely do an extended fast? >Take snake juice, or just supplement electrolytes. >Water=2L >Potassium chloride =1 tsp (No Salt) >Sodium chloride = 1/2 tsp (Himalayan Pink Salt) >Sodium Bicarbonate = 1 tsp (Baking Soda) >Magnesium Sulphate = 1/2 tsp (Food Grade Epsom Salts) >Mix these in 2L of water and sip it throughout the day. >[OPTIONAL] 2 tbsp Apple cider vinegar and 4 tbsp lemon juice. DO NOT MIX with snake juice, drink separately. >You can also do this if you feel lightheaded, weak, dizzy, nauseous, etc., on shorter water fasts. Don’t do this while intermittent farting.

Will (something with calories) break my fast? >Yes, you Hmong.
Can I drink coffee, tea, and diet soda? Or anything with artificial sweeteners? >You can do whatever the fuck you want. We recommend avoiding those, sweeteners especially.

>I can't find food grade Epsom salts, should I skip the SJ altogether? Epson salts and baking soda are optional, don't skip on SJ while doing an extended fast just because you can't find Epsom salts. In any case, look for "USP Epsom salts", USP=US Pharmacopeia, which means pharma-grade

Stand up for yourself, say calmly "I want to try this, I know what I am doing, I will stop if I feel bad, and I would like you to be supportive" The max I've gone is 72h I don't think I could ever do OMAW, btw I'm 300lbs 72h is literally the worst it gets, that's how long it takes for most fatties to enter ketosis (ie. when your body is actually burning fat for fuel), but after that is smooth sailing since your body is using mostly fat and there's a lot of it in you. So if you're giving up before hitting a 72, you might be just redoing the worst part of the fast over and over again. If you're inching closer to single digits bf%, long fasts are not needed and suck because your body actually thinks you might run out of fat and die.

I have recently started a job where i sit for too many hours a day. I am wanting to begin fasting to counter the sedentary life but i am working a job where my brain function and focus can mean life or death for other people working around me. If i have a slip up and become unfocused for 10 seconds, myself and someone else could die..
Should i try fasting or just stick to the OMAD i have been on?
Ive done several fasts in the past (up to 9 days once) but they were a couple years ago and i didnt have a job like this at the time

how long does it take to enter ketosis? i've heard some people say 72 hours, but others have said as little as 12.
Did you get brain fog past 72 hours in the past? Supposedly ketones are more efficient fuel, so theoretically the only point when you'll get brain fog is those hours. I'd say eat a breakfast that can last you a few hours on Friday morning and fast after that. Provided you work Mon-Fri you should be in the clear

Serious issue here guys!! I fasted regularly for about 6 months then I went to bulk because I was finally going to make it Then I just got fat instead And gained even more weight in the last 6 months. I'm currently the fattest I've ever been. Every time I try to fast I lose weight then gain twice that back. How do I stop this, I can't keep fasting forever but I don't want to get hit with the backlash weight after months of losing.
72h until you can see it on ketostix, for most people I hardly doubt 12, maybe 24 if your refeed is super low carb

I was having results but i keep failing at eating clean and my food addiction reak through and my one meal ends up being way too big with sweets at the end.. i was getting results doing omad/low carb/working out daily this last summer, but since the winter has come my meals and my workouts have gone to shit and ive maybe gained 10 pounds. Dont bulk. Obviously what your considering bulking food is too much food. Gotta count your calories when you eat and eat way less than you think you need. Also eat very clean (low carbs, low fat, plenty of lean protein and veggies)

Boys I got a real question. As a i fast more often will i lose weight more? I have been doing nothing less than 24s but mainly 48-72 hour fasts and I lose weight even after a 24 hr fast. Is my insulin just improving a shit ton?
Also after a 5-6 day fast can I just eat normal? What is they key to refeeding?

In my experience, extended fasts are amazing for how consistent the weight loss becomes, after day 3 it's -1lb every single day, to the dot The key to refeeds after prolonged fasts is to take it slow, bone broth is the best refeed food ever but I understand not everybody can get it, so any salty, meaty fatty soup should do, and just a little cup, then wait about 1-2 hours and reevaluate, try to minimize "volume" eaten, if that makes sense I do my best to keep my refeeds carnivore or at least keto, to make it easier to snap back into ketosis after Also, do it where you have access to the toilet, you might the runs at first, and don't trust a fart
what is considered an extended fast? I have gone 96 hours and just ate whatever(steak and potatoes and beer). I stopped getting blowouts from those fasts. Is 120 hours the cutoff for not-extended?

I'm going to do two 48 hour fasts a week. I'm already 30 hours into my first one and feeling fine without the snake juice. No headaches or anything. I've only had water and a small cup of black coffee. I'm thinking of cutting off the coffee eventually since I don't really think I have a caffeine dependency anyways.
I'm going to have a nice big bowl of Chipotle for my re-feed tomorrow afternoon then back to another 48 hour fast.
The bouillion cubes are just flavoring agents, try to get chicken broth like the kind granny would make if you had a cold That or try raw eggs, I've never tried them but Cole is a legend so who knows, just make sure to crack them on a cup first to see if they're not rotten

I've heard you're meant to eat a few hours before going to bed or it can negatively impact sleep, is this true? considering doing IF (4 hour eating) but I take a greens energy powder as soon as I wake up so my window would have to be pretty much first thing in the morning but that means by the time I go to bed I'd have not eaten for 12 hours - does the body adjust or is the window being first thing not a good idea?

I was completely incapable of cutting the normal way, I would lose so much muscle mass and strength it was depressing as fuck, no matter how much protein I consumed on the defect. This led me to try and maintain because I couldnt cut without losing strength and muscle, but didnt want to bulk and get fat. Complete stagnation. I found out about fasting from a random Cole video on youtube and holy shit it was like someone flipped the light switch on cutting. In two weeks I dropped 20 pounds and was fucking shredded.

For those that are bigger, you may see several pounds lost over just a few days. This isn't sustainable and you will lose less over time. Fast more frequently(extended not IF) instead of longer for better results.

It's not the original study which led me to have my opinion, the blood glucose thing was a guy on reddit who posted his levels, drank a coke zero, then posted his levels every 15 minutes up to an hour. Coke zero has acesulfame potassium not K and aspartame. Trying to help people out. That being said i'm drinking one right now. Probably going to stop after 14 days

I do 20/4 fasting, but the 4 hours aren't set each day though. that shouldn't matter as long as I do the 20 hours, right? like some days the last thing I'll eat is an hour earlier than my eating hour should end, therefore the next day, I can eat an hour earlier the day before

Could a moderate overbulk period followed by an extended fast to bring body fat back down to original lean mass percentage be as good or better than just a normal bulk? I want the health benefits of fasting but I also need to put on muscle badly. Also, I want to guarantee I am eating enough food during the time I am eating instead of spending months trying to carefully walk the tightrope of matching my TDEE perfectly. I've tried to bulk twice in the past... one time way overeating and one time not eating enough.
I was just thinking I eat big to get big and then every time I get a bit too much fat I can just water fast until I am back to a low body fat. Obviously I will be sacrificing some gains during the fast but it's a price I would gladly pay to stay perma-lean.
