"Healthy at every size"

wellness.uoguelph.ca/education/sites/uoguelph.ca.wellness/files/public/Health at Every Size Info Kit_a11y_1.pdf

My local uni is promoting this, and they have a 20 page pdf on their site to explain it.

What are your thoughts on this?

I think you should rethink the validity of a degree from any university that promotes retard-think

How can you be that fat and think it’s healthy?

I exercise 7 days a week, and I bulked upto 90kg at 5’7 and felt like absolute shit, completely unhealthy, and that’s with daily exercise. I only feel healthy being 70-75kg at the most.

How do these 5’4 180kg women go around acting like they’re healthy? Blows my mind

when you always feel like shit
you dont know what feeling good is
it is all you know
so you build a wall defending how shit you feel, and how shit you are
since it is your fault, and people hate admitting fault, they would rather lie and say they are happier being and feeling like shit, than admitting they are too weak to pull themselves out of it

You should consider transferring.

> Most recent reference is from 2011
> All the rest are from the 80s and 90s

Jesus Christ, I would have been torn to pieces for that.

My thoughts on this is that it is purposely misleading information, designed to corall lazy idiots, from that actual-demon, Linda Bacon, who is a complete servant of Lucifer

Didn’t this bitch have a heart attack and die at 38?

definition of cope

When you try your best but you don't succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse
When the tears come streaming down your face
'Cause you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
What could it be worse?
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
But high up above or down below
When you are too in love to let it show
Oh but if you never try you'll never know
Just what you're worth
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
Tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
oh and tears come streaming down your face
And I
Tears streaming down your face
I promise you I will learn from all my mistakes
oh and the tears streaming down your face
And I
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

Imagine memeing this song into a pro-fitness anthem

You can no longer trust academics user, research everything for yourself from now on.

Overweight is a confirmed risk facto to diabates. There is not a thing like."healthy at any size" in medicine

Email some of the instructors teaching BIO and health/nutrition oriented classes at your uni and ask them how they feel about this. Also point out and ask if they would accept research papers from their students with such old references. I wrote researcher papers for two science classes last semester, for one of them the date cutoff for citations was 2013 and the other was 2015.

That was a joke article, but I wouldn't be surprised if she really is dead or dies soon.

Oh. Bummer. Let’s start taking bets on whether her knees or her heart gives out first

my bet is on knees

These lardasses think that just because they havent been to the ER for something fat related they are just as healthy as people who dont get winded from going up a flight of stairs

Ay a fellow canada fag

So to them this is healthy?

This is a great counter

lol at those research concerns

> the weight didn’t kill people, diabetes did and you should control for that

Out of touch obese women are a really big market and they ensure that they will keep completely trash courses filled and useless professors employed fand the school filled with permanent debt slaves who'll go tens of thousands of dollars into debt.

Most of it is based on this guy and his advocacy. I can't say "research" since he doesn't cite any.

Wikipedia rightly shreds this shit to shreds.

Mental illness is epidemic

>There are 26,000 diets out there and none of them work. In fact, they are often harmful. Dieting causes both physical and mental changes.

>Eating less than we need changes the way our body functions, as well as the way we think and feel. While dieting, we try to ignore hunger pangs so that we can eat less than normal. Instead of listening to our body's signals, we train ourselves to eat based on other signals. This interferes with the connection between our mind and bodies.

This shit is so wrong. When you cut you don't starve yourself. This entire document seems to work on very simplistic understanding of health, and then uses either or logic.

Who cares? If people wanna be fat fucks or supreme skellys and die earlier let them.

That's fine just as long as they don't expect anyone else to pay their medical bills and deal with any of the other annoyances that fatties bring when they're out in public spaces taking up all the free space with their fat

With the same reasoning nobody ever dies of old age either

>HAMS
>heavy at my size

lol so i guess HAMS acctually stands for healthy at my size.
so... i dont they accctually think it stands for anything, theyre just thinking about hams like the food...

let them do their thing and belive their shit - it only leads to a faster death. People who can be convinced through this are weak-willed anyway

Well how in the fuck is the guy from joeys world tour still alive then? Maybe there's something to this "healthy at any weight" thing?

Oh shit I went to the same school. Thank god I graduated last semester, you should post this in the overheard Facebook group and see how that goes op :^)

>What are your thoughts on this?
Academia is a fucking joke. And they wonder why the braindead moms of America refuse to listen to them on simple matters of vaccination, as they push idiotic shit like this.

Research they cite tells them that being fat is unhealthy. This is copied from their pdf:
*Comprehensive review of literature showed a linear
relationship between weight & health risk.
*States disease virtually guaranteed when BMI is 2-3
times "normal".
*A positive linear relationship between weight/mortality
exists.
*Statistically significant health risks for women when BMI
> 27.
*Women should attempt to maintain BMI at or below 21.
Meta-analysis of research with over 30 years of follow up:
*Many longitudinal studies do not support a positive
linear relationship between weight & adverse health risk.
*Some studies demonstrate a negative relationship.
*Moderately increased BMIs are not associated with
increased mortality.
*Weights at or slightly below current recommendations
are associated with increased health risks.
*A "J" shaped relationship between weight and health
exists.
*Insulin resistance is the primary pathophysiology for type 2 diabetes.
*Many studies have suggested a causal relationship between increased
BMI and increased insulin resistance.
*Research evidence supports a relationship between increased BMI,
insulin resistance & type 2 diabetes.
*The prevalence of concurrent high BMI, insulin resistance, & Type 2
diabetes in study populations seems confirmatory of a causal
relationship.
*Literature review supports weight reduction for BMIs >22. 6.
*Review showed a positive relationship between obesity & hypertension,
insulin resistance, & the ratio of total cholesterol to HDL cholesterol.
*BMIs >30 affect health & longevity because they are associated with
elevated cholesterol, hypertension, & type 2 diabetes.
*Excessive weight increases the risk for gallbladder disease, gout, &
cancer & may lead to osteoarthritis of the weight-bearing joints.
*Benefits of weight loss for otherwise healthy mildly/moderately heavy
people is unknown, but, hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, & hypertension
are improved by a loss of 10-15% of body weight.

I tried to read it and i couldn't go past page 3, it made me fucking furious. I don't even care if whales think they are healthy with 400 lb of fat, but how is it possible that a university which is the repository of truth and critical thinking allow this?

His machinations are boundless

So a BMI greater than 2-3x normal (relative to the individual) is virtually guaranteed to make people sick and cause death?

That should be a fucking national rule like Japan. No fatties, or you pay more tax.

They target mentally and emotionally unstable people to join their death cult.

I didn't know there's an overheard group. Never used facebook.
