Big guy at my gym said to change this from 3x5 to 4x10.
He said cause I’m skinnyfat it’ll put on more muscle and burn more fat.
Should I do it that way ?

Just stick to the program till it doesnt yield any results, this goes for all programs
>3x5 to 4x10.
Fixed numbers in each set are fucking retarded. As soon as you hit 10 or 12 reps in the first set just up the weight, do AMSAP in all the other sets.
"Oh no i only did 4 reps in my last set AGAIN better waste another 2 weeks with my baby weight". ROFL.
sets of 10 for those lifts are gonna get unsustainable with linear progression, you'll get into bad habits with technique on lifts that will punish you for it
just do the exercises in that program as written, and do accessory shit for higher reps/volume
No. Neither of those things are true. Stick to sets of five
Feel like its been confirmed that muscle growth between high weight/low rep vs. low weight/high rep is the same. The important part is form and going until failure. The counter point towards the latter being that going to failure takes longer with lower weight and has a higher risk of poor form/compensation which makes you more injury prone.
Difference in calories will be negligible. Strength = Size for a natural lifter, and so 3x5 will be better for the compound lifts due to easier progressive overload. Or do ICF 5x5 for more volume: muscleandstrength.com
do you mean AMRAP or AMSAP
You should punch the "big" guy in the fucking mouth for telling you this garbage
Stick to 3x5+ (see that plus sign, it means AMRAP on the last set) to get strength gains
Once you're intermediate then you can look into hypertrophy-inducing routines to further build upon your solid foundation.
Thats what I thought hahaha, you could end up in the gym eternally.
if you are doing strength training, im not sure how 10 reps is going to treat you. Increasing reps on a strength program leads to more chances of mistakes but whatever. We are all going to snap city anyway, right?
>Not Doing Sets in a set
Not making it. Get multidimensional bro.
>creating subsets off sets and making power sets off those subsets to complete the original set
discrete mathematics in the gym seems like a good change
dont' ever recommend anything of blaha's
ICF5x5 is one of the best novice programs out there
Based
Lets say the "main sets" are 5x5 but before you go to the second set of your main sets you complete 4 subsets of your main sets first set by lowering the weight constantly.
As soon as you reach the second set of your main sets you go back to the original weight you used in your first main sets set and finish the second sets of sub sets for your second main sets set. And so on.
You could even go deeper and create sub sets for your main sets sub sets.
according to who
Everyone knows how effective 5x5 compounds are. No program or drug stack would make blee bloo blee blah aesthetic tho I’m aware of that.
so do stronglifts
Depends on the kind of muscles you want to deck yourself out with. 5 will help with fast twitch muscle fibers, but will be inefficient at stimulating slow twitch growth. If you go up to ten, you'll stim the slow twitch, but the sacrifices you'll have to make in terms of max weight will come at the cost of fast twitch.
In the end though, fast twitch are the ones that'll make you look big. Slow twitch reps over weight bois may have slightly more stamina, but is that really what you care about?
Would you rather be a lean dude able to hold up a 20 lb weight for 10x longer, or would you rather be a jacked dude able to bench 50% more. Up to you.
Four sets of ten is fucking certified retarded
Lol i do 5x12 benches 5x8 eveeything else
No brah you gotta do 10x10 brah amrap every set brah as heavy as you can every time otherwise you'll stay a twink forever everyone trains like this brah, trust me.
