It means there was no secret santa. It was a group of guys making threads and then grinching any one who tried to take part. The only lists you could give a gift to were their lists. Any one joining the thread got nothing except them.

It's not hard to scam. After someone bought you an item from your fake account, quickly change your shipping address back to your real address, same with your name under your account details. Then close your list, & make a new one.

And now the OP just admitted he won't make anymore new threads because the scam got found out.

what do you want me to do to prove to you i didn't scam anyone? I haven't even posted my list since I got my gift, all i wanted was some wholesome, christmas-y bonding with anonymous people online. I have no motive to scam anyone and i think it's sad that people do shit like that on a board like this that's already full of sad and depressed people.

People would have to exchange info and dox themselves to each other via video chat for this to actually work. After two annons have doxxed themselves to each other, those two anons buy each other a gift. This way it assures you don't buy a bunch of gifts for the same person. the two anons have mutual assurance that they both have the others dox, & they both bought gifts.so they don't have any reason to dox one another after that. Another key thing would be to put a $30-$50 limit on gifts. But even then, people here would still take advantage of it.

If only these scammers would put this much effort into getting a job.
