i'll have to think about that one, but here's a comfy.

>tfw don't have a driving license
Is it worth it? I live in the city, but driving seems like it can be relaxing at night.

Zankyou No Terror was pretty comfy, the soundtrack is phenomenal. Never finished Mushishi. Yuru camp is quite comfy too, it's getting a second season so i'm looking forward to that.

idk mang but I'll give a picture anyway.

I found ZnT to be too bleak, not the comforting commieblock kind of bleak either but the sad kind.

Sora no Woto was pretty comfy, Potatoes Last Tour, Aria, Kino, Mushishi, Haibane, any SoL along the lines of Dragon Meido, Non non, Hyouka, Yurucamp, Hakumei, Natsume, Zettai Shonen, Jinrui etc etc. But I think the grand prize goes to Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou.

Kanno is a modal goddess

Attached: Yokohama_Kaidashi_Kikou_01.jpg (1024x768, 208K)

This seems to be the general opinion about it, watchable but mediocre. Seeing it was done by Watanabe the expectations beforehand were astronomical as well, that didn't help.

>not mentioning K-On
It has one of the warmest, carefree atmospheres of any anime.
Does anyone else find NGE to be oddly comfy as well? It has a lot to do with the OST, but the imagery is often soothing too.

>What's the comfiest anime you've seen?
Hamtaro.

Attached: hamster-sleep.jpg (712x472, 102K)

>comfiest
Probably Flying Witch or Yuru Camp. Hidamari Sketch and Koufuku Graffiti are up there too.

Attached: watching Koufuku Graffiti.jpg (1280x720, 169K)

I'm a bit away from the city so empty streets can be a bit comfy. In the city might be a bit wild. Here's a pic I took while driving around the beach couple months ago

Attached: IMG_4400-min.jpg (5184x3456, 1.5M)

Ah yes, Kei Ongaku (not a big fan of it though sumimasen, it gets so bland at times it tilts over to boring imo) was included in the "etc" there, along with Hidamari, SchoolRumble, Paniponi, Azumanga, Nichijew. Not to mention awesome 80's comfy like Kimagure Orange, Maison Ikkoku and Urusei Yatsura.

You have to be a very special person to find NGE comfy though. The OST to EoE I'd agree to call comfy, it has a touch of "there's peace in death", it reminisces of a scene I'm very fond of in anime and I wish there was more of it, when a character resigns themselves to their fate and dies with a peaceful smile.

Yer, countryside northern yurop. Used to have high tension wires stretching over the fields here as well, and further back also telephone lines, but they dug them down some years ago.

Tree in the pic is a wild apple tree of unknown age (its apples taste awful), this guy who's 80 years old claims it was the same size even when he was a kid.

Attached: IMG_2664.jpg (1600x1200, 781K)

That's interesting, I guess the tree doesn't have enough in it to give the nutrients, but there's still a ton of apples there.
I'm going to be doing a month or two trip to europe this summer, never been out of the us

There used to live 4000 people in this area in the 50's, there was a cinema, soccer field, stores etc, now there's ~20 people left and most houses are gone or uninhabited.

Subarashii sora, pictures don't often do them right.

Where in yurop will you be going?

>tfw it costs north of 1k and requires a lot of time
I would if it were more convenient

>You have to be a very special person to find NGE comfy
Do you? As you said yourself, there's peacefulness in death and chaos. I think in NGE it has to do with the setting being the fall of humanity and crumbling of society, a bit like in YKK or Eden: it's an endless world. Among that destruction, there's a feeling of nostalgia and authenticity.

This was during my a night trip backpacking in the mountains last winter, kinda intense. Going again in a few weeks.
That's what I love about yurop, there's so much history and abandoned places. My rough plan is from lower italy to lower scandinavian countries, or might stop at copenhagen.
Did they tear down their houses?

Attached: 20180320_082706-min.jpg (3264x1836, 1.32M)

See what you mean, but I feel there's a difference between them somehow. Maybe if they had removed Shinji I'd find it comfy as well kek.

>there's a difference between them
YKK doesn't focus on the same themes at all, puts much less emphasis on mystery and intrigue and is more about mono no aware. As for Eden, it's extremely similar to NGE and just takes from gnosticism instead of christianity in terms of symbolism, while also focusing less on psychological issues and more on societal issues
Shinji is a great protagonist though.

1k isnt much if you have a job

is welcome to the NHK comfy?

I think you're going to have a fun and interesting trip, good infrastructure in that line of travel as well so you'll be able to travel pretty cheap.

>Did they tear down their houses?
Yea, a few were disassembled and moved elsewhere but most just rotted down for a while and got removed, the tiles made great filling material for roads across bogs and swamps

It's the kind of comfy non-meme depression gives you. You don't want to get out of it and it's a satisfying state of being but doesn't feel "good"

cool because that's where i am in my life rn

Shirobako was what made me go from exclusively watching and only caring about Samurai Champloo/Eva/Black-Lagoon type anime to wasting my time on every flavor of the month stuff that comes out.

I dont find my productive abilities harmed however.

With Eden I take it you mean Eden of the East btw? At least that's the only Eden I know of. Just for the record in case there was some misunderstanding, with EoE I was referring to End of Evangelion some posts back there.

I fucking hate Shinji

No I was referring to Eden: it's an endless world. Good manga, you should check it out.

One of the most underrated Ghibli movies, and has the best Ghibli girl too.

Knowing about the obscene amount of work that goes into these shows and how it's done certainly adds a new dimension to viewing. Gintama did a good job with that at times too, in its own way.

Oh, ic ic, not familiar with that one.
>Are you one of those who think he's a pussy even though, realistically speaking, he's not?
Will you get angry if I say I am?

Why was he a pig tho

Most cafe's get by on very little knowledge on brewing and generally just toss the few ingredients into a relatively expensive machine that spits out whatever coffee you want. And I don't think it's an especially difficult thing to learn, even if you actually want to go down the deep end, trying to find good beans and making quality coffee. Just try to open up somewhere where you won't be competing for the Starbucks customers.

You should probably start off with a lemonade stand along the road and see how that feels.

>Just try to open up somewhere where you won't be competing for the Starbucks customers
Yea I'd probably open in a small town without one or in a country where starbucks isn't thing, Serbia looks like the most promising one on that front, since all the others I wouldn't be able to speak the language.

Just realised Croatia and Slovenia dont have one either. Those could work as well.

>Will you get angry if I say I am?
Why would I?
Just imagine that 14-year old you was in Shinji's position instead and see if you'd be more courageous.
Your mom's dead, father abandoned you to a foster family when you were a kid.
The world is in the shitter due to some worldwide incident, and you're suddenly called by the dad who never raised you to the most important military complex in the world, where you're told that you must risk your life and sanity piloting a war machine in order to defeat terrifying otherworldly lifeforms, and if you don't do that, they'll get an injured girl (whom you're subconsciously attracted to because she's a clone of your dead mom) to do it instead.
You try it out anyway because everyone pressures you, and as you enter the robot, you get thrown into an extremely unfamiliar and (though you don't know that yet) psychologically damaging environment.
You man up and face the angel, who looks like a several-stories tall, vaguely humanoid Lovecraftian monster, and you can't control the robot since you've never been trained. You collapse, the monster beats the fuck out of you and you lose consciousness.
You wake up in a hospital bed and are told you have to do that shit again. How many more times? Nobody knows.

How would you react, user?

>Why was he a pig tho
So that they could make the pearls before swine joke

One thing I can tell you for sure. I would not react like him and I doubt any real human would. But my gripe isn't as much whether he's a pussy or not, it's more about how annoying he is, all the screeching and crying, the way he interacts with the others. Why couldn't he just have been like Gundams Amuro Ray or something instead, similiar age and circumstances but so much more bearable to watch. and like, how you found it comfy... I just can't find anything comfy about Shinji, the panic, the awkwardness, the bouts of selfishness, makes me cringe all over.

Cheers!

Attached: 1369274849698.jpg (310x419, 66K)

Oh yes this, what music do you guys play when having a comfy drive?

>Drive's soundtracks

>I doubt any real human would.
Bold claim. I'd probably be even less courageous, refuse right off the bat and go back to the foster home.
>how annoying he is
Don't see it. 90% of modern anime protags are worse, being bland cardboard cutouts made for the average depressed jap salaryman to safely self-insert into. Shinji is a complete mess and that at least is interesting. I found him likable precisely because he's so lost and scared, yet not hypocritically selfless like a lot of anime protags with self-esteem issues can be.
>comfy
The entire anime is comfy, not just Shinji. Shinji just brings it all together.
It's not conventionally comforting like Aria, K-On or YKK can be, it just has an incredible atmosphere that I find particularly calming and beautiful.
youtube.com/watch?v=vXbCWJNfq_0
youtube.com/watch?v=GHMkRHk9lgI
Then there's the short SOL scenes with a typical 90s anime vibe and bossa nova background that kind of clash with what I mentioned above, but in a good way.
>the panic, the awkwardness, the bouts of selfishness, makes me cringe all over.
Do you relate to him in any way?
He just has issues and never learns to deal with them because of a hostile environment, until Instrumentality.

Classic FM has some nice jazz and world music shows in the evenings, a silent drive can be just as pleasant though.

Basically, to sum this up without scissoring and replying to different parts of what you wrote, I don't experience it the same way, what you refer to as bland cardboard cutout is what I find likeable and Shinji is more a caricature of the former that I can not relate to in any noteworthy way. The scenes I don't find comfy, the first I recall experiencing with confusion after watching all the previous episodes, it reeked of "help we ran out of money", the soundtrack in the 2nd clip is great though. I did mention above that I liked the "sweet surrender" sort of scenes, but it's of a different kind, like this
, youtube.com/watch?v=6bfpvd2ZuXA
although it's fine if they actually die as well, just couldn't think of anything else at the moment.

Oh, also, I did appreciate some of the chill moments in NGE btw, the bossa as well!

I like these kinds of pictures, makes me feel like I'm with someone alone in a room, kind of like relaxing in on a friday night but someone's there
I gotta go out more

I really love how comfy this picture feels.

Moyashimon or Silver Spoon.

Becasue Jow Forums is now full of fagets I should probably point out that there is a trap in Moyashimon but that shouldn't be why you read/watch it.

Contrary to most people here I don't want a mommy or some girl to take care of me
I just want someone to talk with and go for walks at night as opposed to doing it alone all the time

Both of those shows have a lot of facts presented in a fun way. Are there any other agriculture based animu like them out there?

I just love girls with this haircut.

Easily non non biyori for me. Those first 2 minutes on episode 1? Perfection.

im not too deep into anime but beepbop ,champloo, and flcl is pretty comfy in my opinion

What's the anime where they make fun of Finnish Main Battle Tanks?
