Best is good jawline with true five o clock shadow, which is only possible if you actually get shadow despite shaving daily. Faking shadow with stubble looks bad. Second best is a good jawline but no shadow or facial hair. Third place is a weak jawline but god tier beard genetics, so you can permanently hide it under a short, well-maintained beard. If you have a weak jawline and have no or subpar (scraggly with thin patches, think of the soiboi holding a nintendo switch as an example), you have been officially fucked over by God.

Honestly it really depends.

I grew a beard because my chin was so ugly and my then gf was attracted to me but when she saw an instagram post of men shaving their beards to look handsome she told me to do it, I did and I knew she was repulsed by being with me and it did a number on me.

The point is if you're growing a beard to hide something, don't, if you want to grow a beard because you don't like shaving, do it. If you just want to make it really long for fun, do it. If you're growing one to hide your unattractiveness, just don't...

I associate beards with hiding either a weak jawline or a blooming double chin. That's the reason why most of the dickbags you went to high school with grew mountain man beards by sophomore year of college, all that dining hall food and PBR started taking its toll on them. So if you have a beard and aren't clearly in shape it just looks like you're trying to hide the nightmare underneath.
With that said I still think most girls would be fooled.

This. I have a strong jaw but I look like a baby clean shaven, and growing out a beard hides my jaw.

There's a period like maybe a little over a week after I shave, where I hit prime stubble shadow and I'm at peak confidence
