Endless Tower

We all live in an immense endless tower. There is a Floor 1, but it isn't the ground floor. No one has found the ground in a while. No one knows how high this tower goes either, countless secrets, eldritch knowledge, and horrors lie below Floor Zero, going into the negative floors. Amazing wonders await in the upper floors, thousands to millions of floors up. The floors are not uniform in size, some are bigger than others.

Floor zero is an expansive and dense city of 200,000 square miles in area. Factions and warlords own and control parts of the city.

As one ascends the positive floors, a sense of enlightenment follows, with some individuals returning from floors ranging into the quadrillions even claiming to have seen the face of creation. However the opposite occurs with the negative floors, with further descent beckoning corruption of the mind, although there are some areas of solace, comfort, and benignity in the negative floors.

Pilgrimage ascenders are called Flyers, negative number descenders are called Divers. This tower often has mysterious magical artifacts popping into existence, valuable for their anomalous and or magical properties. Useful ones like integer anchors are especially sought after. Main method of travel between floors would be stairs, sometimes floor elevators, and or portal doors, though there are weird rules regarding ascension in some areas. Another method of travel would be the dangerous root engine, an elevator that takes you down to the square root of the floor you're on, this especially useful for when you're on floor with a perfect square and want to descend, but bad if you're on a floor without a perfect square, which sends you into the irrational plane or imaginary plane. You can get out of these planes by using 1 time use integer anchors, basically a tiny little anchor with a grenade pin that, when pulled, will pull you back towards the closest integer. For the imaginary plane, i is treated as -1 when using floor anchors. The irrational plane and imaginary plane are sometimes useful for hiding or stashing things, as long as you have an integer anchor.

Wikia link posted, you can follow the writing rules, or not, personally I wouldn't follow the limit put on negative floors myself.

Why would anyone be a diver that's stupid

A diver is a researcher or adventurer that wants to be known for their discoveries concerning the negative floors. There are also places free of the corrupting influence of the abyss that are negative floors.

Better magical items I guess, or just different ones
Or maybe that's where refuses from society go to hide, hoping no one would go after them, also people might get escorted there as punishment for their crimes
The square root of a positive number can be either a positive or a negative number, while a negative number can't be squared. You have to scrap this idea I'm afraid.

One could also ask why anyone would be a nigger

Not necessarily. Root engines could have a sort of wild card effect, where it will take the user to a floor that's either negative or positive. Exponent elevators might be cool as an escape item for divers. Incredibly rare, but they would catapult you into the positive floors.

Square elevators I might say, not exponent elevators.

Ehh, maybe an absolute value option lever within the root engine can solve that.

Floor 13: Floor of Cats
This floor is full of cats, there is a slew of comfy cat cafes everywhere. Cat themed merchandise is also sold here on a daily basis. A special cat statue will imbue you with night vision and improved agility if prayed too. Fish is plentiful here.

Square elevators seem a bit overpowered, a multiplication elevator seems less so. Your current multiplied by your choice of either the number of the bottom floor or number of the floor above you. So if your on floor 3, you can go to floor to either floor 6 or floor 12.

By reading the floors on the wiki, I'd say that it doesn't matter if you go to floor 1 thousand to 1 million in one go. If anything, the higher you go the less funny the meme is.

>only had to get to about the 170s or so before working outlets started appearing
>wifi signal begins around floor 210 or so
I'm just gonna stay right here boys

Hmmm, I guess root engine is best then, hard to go up, easy to go down.

>not knowing of floor 345

W-whats on 345 user?

isn't this just Blame?

floor -63 is just an early-morning (or evening) forest as far as I can tell, someone come down here and help me build a /comfy/ cabin

Nahhh, endless tower has more people in certain areas.

Isn't that the floor that slowly changes your biological sex after span 63 days has passed? Watch out, sometimes accidents happen and your chromosomes get fucked up, statistically after 25 or so intervals.

fuck I'm lost in here
only found a plastic slide that goes downwards. not sure how many floors.
help I don't want to be a tranny

You need to reach floor -305, the mushroom village, careful though, the journey there is perilous, I think floor -200 is where the Giant forgotten beast, Axerytl, the bone crusher lives.

oh i remember this, this was fun!

Floor -6969 makes you fuck your dad

slid down for like 10 minutes. I'm sitting in the exit of the slide.
there's 3 corpses on the floor in front of the slide. not going out untill I figure out what's up.
I'm in some kind of kitchen or bathroom, it's all gross tiled floors and walls. ton of pipes in the ceiling. Anyone know what's up with this floor?

Floor -666:
A floor filled with a dangerous race named the Slugoc. The race has a caste system. The workers are small and numerous, the are bipedal and hunched with thick slime covering their hairy bodies, they gather food from their slime farms. The negotiator caste is next, basically tricky merchants who try to swindle humans, they do not swindle their own race, they are covered in slime but do not have fur, they wear a cloak of black, blue, and gold to signal they are merchants, they are bipedal, yet hunchbacked. The soldiers are big, muscular, and slimy as well, their skin is extremely resistant to cutting based weaponry, they are bipedal with no back problems, they're weaponry consists of clubs and an electricity producing slug they use as stunguns. Finally the ruler caste, slimy, half slug, half caterpillar, with a human head, often wearing a crown or ornate hat of sorts, they can psychically control all lower castes. They often enslave humans and use them as penal soldiers, hard laborers, or sex slaves. They will rape to increase their numbers, the children only being of the race of the Slugoc. Their goal is to travel upwards and attack and enslave all the humans above, making them a huge existential threat.

Floor -64 is home to killer midget clowns. Do you have a weapon? The clowns are child sized, so you might be able to kill them with your bare hands. Just don't get surrounded. They mainly club people to death, but some has knives.

I think I'm lower down than that. some dead orc think just came down the slide behind me. I thought it was the tiles or something that killed people, but I guess someone is just using this as a body disposal chute. The slide was pretty curly so I couldn't tell if there were any junctions.
There's a lot of lockers around the corner, gonna see if I can find anything cool

Guys I was around floor 370 something, and I swore I saw sunlight coming in through the windows, has anyone else been around there and confirmed? OR is it just like floor -79 where all the windows are lcd screens of your parents talking bad about you?

Is there any floor that makes you fuck your mom? Asking for a friend.

but if theres a city at floor zero how has no one found the first floor? this is awful writing

>There is a Floor 1, but it isn't the ground floor.
Learn to read, nigger.

Attached: 1524946854693.png (290x283, 105K)

this is still bad writing. there are artifacts that literally let you skip floors and no one has still found ground level?

>there is no ground floor
how is this difficult to understand?

found a flashlight, started exploring some darker rooms
there's a logarithmic elevator, the doorframe says I'm on floor -1745. what do?

>No one has found the ground in a while.

OP post didnt say it doesnt exist, just that it hasnt been found somehow despite all the floor teleporting artifacts available.

>Floor 291
Known to some as the "Mall Microhell" or the "Looping Shoppe", is a shopping/bazaar type floor. It's filled to the brim with markets and shops, for what seems like an infinite distance. This is what most first timers experience, but they will soon realize the mall isn't infinite; it just loops. Some research has been done to try and understand how this is physically possible, although nothing is has been come of it. This floor may seem daunting at first, but it will most definitely solve all your shopping needs!

Most of of the shopkeepers are a type of non human creature, who refer to to themselves as the Bargain boys. They are asexual boring creatures resembling coarse white vases with black holes for mouthes and eyes, as well as a long pointy nose. They are hollow both physically and morally. When asked how they can reproduce or even move without seemingly any organs, they simply say "Whaddaya buyin', (kid/stranger/traveler/boss/pal)". Many of them seem avoidant to speak of their origins and will often distract the interviewer with promises of antique handmade persian carpets sold for cheap. Recognizing this common trope among the Bargain boys will be crucial if you wish to abuse their nervosity for personal gain.

The Bargain boys are completely imobile, unmoving, and don't even spend the money they gain from purchases or trades; it simply sits in a pile next to them. It is very easy to steal from them because they are fucking retarded and can't stop you, although one must be warned that they will not be so kind to you afterwards and may call you names such as "slimey bastard" "son of a thousand rats" or "bitch" (other insults may occur). However these creatures have no sense of community, so becoming enemies with one individual boy does not mean anyone else will hate you.

Nobody knows what or how bargain boys get placed by their shops, or how they they set them up, but everyone knows they are fucking daft.

because to understand our world, there are things that must be discovered, even is those things are cruel and horrifying

Attached: best dad.jpg (675x1024, 144K)

It could've been a legend or rumor, who knows.

It's a magic tower with at least quadrillions of floors, probably more, and going down makes you mad. You think a few magical elevators with deliberate limitations are going to make finding the ground floor easy?

>You think a few magical elevators with deliberate limitations are going to make finding the ground floor easy?
if used in a smart way then yes it would be possible

>runs up the stairs on all 4s
I AM ASCENDING!!!!

>Floor 291 continued

The floor is generally considered a safe floor, atleast for negative floor standards, and only has minor cursed/supernatural properties to it. The floor also seems to be the home of the Bargain boys, although Bargain boys can sometimes be found on other floors, most likely having been brought there by some perverted shopper. These Bargain boys will often sport a melancholy or cocky behavior, smoking or drinking.

TIP: It is easy to steal from Bargain boys! If you can take the insults, it's a goldmine!

TIP: Do not buy food from bargain boys, with the exception of their famous cosmic jerky of course! Other foods are best bought at the few human/other vendors on the floor.

TIP: Although it's source animal is unknown, Cosmic Jerky is actually an immensely powerful food item, with many perks such as increased intellectual prowess, greater strength, mega sex drive, increased testosterone levels, hairline regaining, penis enlargening, posture fixing, confidence gainer, jawline/chin enhancer, stutter/lisp removal, skin clearer etc. However, it does not affect height, so manlets must not get their hopes up that they will ever become humans.

TIP: Since the floor loops indefinitely, one can drive any vehicle without ever stopping down the street if they wish.

TIP: Other species are sure to be encountered here, although it is recommended you leave them be. Who knows, maybe what they are buying is very embarrassing where they are from!

TIP: Having a body is prohibited in some areas because some Bargain boys felt that they were being discriminated against (or as they themselves referred to it as: "being flexed on") by body-havers. These areas can be very dangerous.

TIP: Do not make racial/religious jokes about the Bargain boys, they will not understand.

Sometimes I just want to cry so at least I will feel validated in sadness, but I have lost the ability to, making it worse.
Life as a robot is an experience.
Today I lost my last friend, he became anhero. I have no family left to turn to, and I have no one else. I have literally nothing left, physically and emotionally. There is nothing left inside. At least I have here to turn to, the only place that accepts me. Thank you, robots. Sometimes you help others without even knowing it. Please, if you encounter a fellow robot who is suffering, help him. And if you are on the other side of that, know things can get better.

Floor -622
This floor is a vast, cold, and filled with water. Life can occasionally be found in the form of strange fish and a variety of bioluminescent deep sea invertebrates.
The water seems to expand horizontally in all directions and downwards exploration has revealed that it has a seabed, the seabed is mostly flat with a minimum of about 20 meters Its' most distinctive feature is an area designated as "The Fall".
The Fall is a wide, deep cavern with sides that start nearly horizontal and gradually slope steeper and steeper until they are nigh vertical. Analysis of the topography of the fall has revealed that its shape is remarkably approximate to the three dimensional revolution of 1/X, a shape also known as Gabriel's Horn.
Ruins have been found on the seabed in the flatter areas that surround the fall, indicating that the floor might once have been inhabited by a sentient civilization numerous stone tablets that appear to be scripture have been recovered, and translation efforts are currently underway.
Divers who have spent an extended amount of time in the water have reported a gradual onset of nausea and paranoia as well as a reluctance to return to the floor. Analysis of sensitive microphones placed in the water have detected a low frequency infrasound that permeates the water, likely to be the cause of these symptoms. Through measurements taken throughout the floor of its' intensity, the source of this infrasound was determined to lie within the depths of The Fall.

Scattered mummified remains of humans and animals alike litter the sands of this floor. It is extremely dark and cold, upon traveling recklessly a sinkhole may open up underneath you dropping to lower floors. The main threat is not enemies but the possibility of getting forever lost in the darkness damned to die. A rare artifact lies on this floor buried somewhere beneath the endless sands. The North Star of the Desert. It is rumored to provide endless light and heat for whoever finds it. The light will ward off undead from other floors no matter their power. However, if the wielder of the artifact commits evil deeds the power of the artifact will become unstable and explode with the force of 1000 suns and rip a hole in space-time destroying 100 floors. Many adventurers attempted to find this artifact but only a few returned empty handed.

##DR. CARTESIAN PERSONAL LOG 1756#

i think ive done it. I think my lifes work has come to fruition. We know that the tower has postive and negative floors, imaginary floors, ect. For all time we thought that this was the extent of our reality. But ive done it. There appears that there is another dimension for us to explore. Ive decided to call it the X tower. Another line of existance running orthogonal to our own.
My new device, I call it a function generator, will allow us to move through this x tower to come out somewhere else in our own Y tower! My greatest achievement will be using this device to travel farther into the tower than anyone as ventured before. Ive written a path for the function generator to take me i call it the exponential. It will increase ny foor count until infinity, and i will unlock all the secrets of this place. I will ride this function to the top, or as far as the tower goes
Logging off. I hope this works....

Not the same user, but, if most others are moving upwards then they must still surely be curious about the lower floors, and I am too.
I'll have faith that they go upwards and bring back the stories of what they find, and I will do the same.
That is to say, because I want the best picture of the whole tower, someone needs to go under for that, and since /I/ want it, I should do it.

The people that are born in this floor rarely leave as the cultural shock from other floors is too much to handle.

Before the floor resets rotting corpses will lie about for a few weeks and a fatal plague will spread across the floor killing everyone.

So its an even shittier SCP Foundation. Great.

A Manuscript of Time Manipulaton can be found deep within the Speedrun Stronghold but you will have to rush against time to find it. If discovered it will send you back 50 seconds into the past.

3 uses until the manuscript teleport back to the hold.

Nah, as soon as you find it, it throws you back 50 seconds putting you in an infinate loop. Punishment for your desire of greed and power.

Originally, the idea used this image. The original thread merely put out the idea of, what if r9k users were to live together in this great impossibly big apartment complex. In came greentexts about floods of shit flowing down to lower floors and the tossing of trash, shit, and piss bottles into the center since there was no dump. What a time it was to be alive, when larpy threads could be twisted into still larpish, yet shitposty and fun paths. I'm just a bit nostalgic and longing for the time when robots could churn out gold from such simple threads, positing simple questions. That's why I made this thread, to see if robots are still capable. It was funny and fun to have participated in such threads in the past, and its such a shame that such threads rarely happen nowadays, and if they do get posted, are pushed down by all the other threads on this board, getting few replies if any. I wonder where all the r9k /tg/ and /qst/ posters went.

Though this floor is mostly abovewater, many kinds of sealife abound, dominated by octopi and walruses. Fog frequently obscures anything more than a few feet away, and those who breathe the pine-smelling vapors experience a simultaneous hatred of the place with an unwillingness to leave.
From time to time, an inexplicable fire will come through burning even ice and water. It does not seem to affect any parts of the human body but the left eye; which it burns while inflicting incredible pain. After the fire has passed, the victims no longer see the world in front of them with their left eye, but a fantasy of their past lives in which all their dreams had come true and brought them incredible happiness until the moment when the fire came. If they do not manage to leave soon, madness comes soon and the afflicted will attempt to keep any newer travelers they see on this floor until they, too, are afflicted by the fire.
Those who manage to leave after being so burned, despite fearing the level and hoping never to return, still feel a part of their hearts pulling them back to sit in the level of water and fire to contemplate the horrors for the rest of their lives.

Everybody on this floor drives an 80's Pontiac. The model does vary from person to person, but the color - a faded white - never does.

May we never forget those who no longer speak, those who reside below -10,000.

Has anybody tried digging out of the tower through the tower walls? What did you find?

Try and keep this a secret as it is a route I use almost weekly, and I would like it to be largely unknown. What I did was I found a small passage someone had dug out in the wall of floor - 872. Incase you are unaware floor -872 is the Gargoyle Storage. Going to storage unit 9J you'll find a large bright red gargoyle with a wing missing, roughly 10 meters tall. If you go around the base of the gargoyle there is a wooden pallet leaned against the wall under a broken floodlight. Behind the pallet is the passage, you don't need a key or anything as there is no door.

Anyway this passage goes out for quite a bit and eventually you'll end up in a strange crawlspace. It is about 2 meters wide, but it seems to go on up, down and to the sides forever. It is pretty steamy in there but if you look downwards you can see the faint light from a balcony a ways down. It's to far a drop to jump, but If you have a means to get down there it is a nice little shortcut down to floor -993. I like it because it's pretty fast and it let's you skip -960 which is always a relief, right? :)

Also BTW, I have no idea who made the tunnel. I've met one other dude behind the gargoyle who said he used it to skip floors. If you see a guy with a red hoodie it might be him, he was pretty friendly.

I like you.. origenaru

Hey. Thinking of finally doing some exploring, starting from floor zero obviously.

Anyone knows where I should/should not go as an amateur? Should I bring some friends along or go on my own?
What about supplies? What should I bring?

I've seen countless would-be Magellans like you, thinking he can master the tower. Not a one has made it back alive.
