I run PPL. I start every pull day with deadlifts. I recently pulled 5pl8 for a clean honest 1rm. I'm done with this lift. my glutes hamstrings and lower back are developed enough for my liking.
what should i chose for my main movement for my pull days? i can bang out like 12 full rom chins and pullups, and i feel like adding weight around my waist is pretty cringe and autistic. Barbell rows? Hate em.
what are your pull day/back routines?
Deadlifts are useless if you're not a PLer
>and i feel like adding weight around my waist is pretty cringe and autistic
Why do you feel like this? Tons of people do it, the autistic version is wearing a weighted vest.
go to bed Joshua
U sound like a retard OP
yeah i am so tell me what to do. i'm too stupid to figure it out myself.
it's just so much work to get a dipping belt and fuckin clip a plate to your waist it just seems like its not worth it.
Just do it, people will be impressed when you're doing pull ups with 3 plates strapped to you.
>>what should i chose for my main movement for my pull days?
your boyfriends dick
Wow, you have an intermediate deadlift 1rm, congratulations. Now try being not fucking weak
Is DL hate a new meme or what?
It's literally the greatest lift out there.
>Picking something off the ground
>Not a good lift
Jesus Christ
True, at a new gym warming up with a 10 plate and they were staring at me like a mad man.
People complain it doesn't build muscles as well as other lifts.
a bunch of skinny faggots no doubt
They're called slimbacks
It’s the whole risk vs reward. If you’re just trying to get big then there are better exercises that will give you a great back without risking injury that can happen even with good form.
If you wanna deadlift more though then you obviously have to do deadlifts.
Deadlifts have very little risk of injury. Just don't pull with a catback and you'll never have an issue.
No they weren't
People focused on deadlifts as a strength excercise and many went to snap city other saw no gains because they trained it for strength and declared it a meme. Bunch of novices.
Yes they were. I’m currently in a weak Muslim country where no one really lifts unless they’re a foreigner working there like I am.
Good thread. Deadlifting is superfluous once you hit 4 plates as working set. Your core is now developed and dealifting further only risks back injuries for very little muscle hypertrophy. Going from 200kg to 300kg deadlift is mostly optimising CNS. Switch to rackpulls at knee height or above for juicy upper back gains, or ditch deadlifts entirely and prioritise weighted pullups. Your 40yo self will thank you immensely.
i agree it's a great lift but i'm satisfied with 5 plates. i don't feel like i need to lift any more of that. diminishing returns.
Every lift is like that. At some point, going further is just going to fuck up your muscles/tendons/etc in the future.
this, the ultimate full body lift great for novices to unironically develop the base in the first year of lifting. only autists and weird powerlifting fatties actually keep deadlifting after the first 1-2 years of lifting. they definitely fell for a meme
dude that's where i'm at. april will be 2 years of lifting for me. i'm done with this meme exercise lol. it was fun and it was worth it, but until someone tells me some good reason to keep going, i'm done lol.
wouldn't a deadlift be push? because you're pushing off the ground?
the only way deadlifting is a push is if the bar remains stationary and you're literally pushing the Earth down half a metre.
yeah just like how with a row you are pushing the bar up with the inside of your fingers
Reverse grip pendlay rows, i call them orc rows cuz nerd.
My favorite life, i love it so much. sometimes i do it for fun at a low weight haha
gunna give it a try tomorrow.
Weighted pull ups are my favorite pull move. No one likes to do barbell rows but strong people do them anyways.
It takes like five seconds. I don't even use a weight belt, I just bring a canvas cord from home and use a carabiner to lock it shut.
According to the I Ching
>If something develops in its extreme, it will revert into its opposite condition
Deadlifts went from underutilized PL secret tool ignored by most gym goers to "omg how much do you deadlift!!!" basically a meme exercise driven by elitist fucktards on misc, fit, reddit, and other fitness website and now it's getting blowback from retards who snapped their shit up and/or realized that there is no one size fits all exercise program and that deadlifts really were unnecessary for their fitness program.
I personally love and do deadlifts but I can see why other people would chuck them. Ultimately, there is no single exercise that can't be replaced by something else.
You're pushing with your legs, pulling with your back. When people say push/pull/legs they mean pushing with your torso, pulling with your back, and legs. So it's not a push move in the same way that a squat isn't a pull move. Because legs are just legs.
>I don't even use a weight belt, I just bring a canvas cord from home and use a carabiner to lock it shut.
elaborate please, post a pic of this contraption
Here ya go. I think it was camping equipment originally but idk.
