In my youth, getting "in shape" to me meant lots of cardio, diet restriction/starving, and low weight (~10-15lb) high rep (+50) dumbbell and body weight exercises.

I didnt really get the hang of working out until late 2011 (gym, heavy weights, protein supplement, etc).

Was busy with work and life events for many many years.

Skip to today, been working out since October 2018.

In like 5 weeks, its like my body remembered...I easily regained and surpassed the strength I had in my mid-20s. Feels laughable how hard i had to bust my ass for gains back then compared to now. Im still building up my starting strength (adding 5lb to bench every week). Still havent plateaued like i have in the past.

Overall, I dont care so much about having a super lean physique.
That's just not me anymore. And most of the times in the past when I was "in shape", I was really just starved.
Now...'m just trying to have more strength/stamina.
Maybe once I plateau with my 30yr old strength, I'll thinking about cutting to reduce body fat
