you can thoroughly enjoy both, but which you prefer makes you what you are. or, it's based off of your cognitive functions if you ascribe to mbti/jung/socionics theories.

In MBTI there is no such thing as an ambivert, but all personalities have introverted sides that counteract their extraverted sides, and vice versa. It really depends on what you like doing with other people and what you like doing alone, ect. It (intravert/extravert) also has some other meanings within MBTI in more complicated theory such as introverts being more authentic, introverted functions having to do with inner world, ect.
