Sledge push

Is pushing a sledge actually good for you?

My gym has two of them, but I've literally never seen anyone use them. Tried them out and they seem pretty good. Feels like they work a good set of muscles, don't seem likely to injure you, obviously very functional. Why does nobody seem to use them?

>Why does nobody seem to use them
you can just push your car lol

>Why does nobody seem to use them?
they are not memetic enough

but yeah it's a great conditioning exercise, many people recommend doing it with a straighter back, arms extended in front and feet horizontally stepping on the floor instead of using the balls of your feet, not sure why this is recommended as you can use less weight this way, but it may be safer for some reason?

>dunno why I have to do the exercise this way if it means I move less weight

One way ticket to snap ciddy brah

Sled dragging is great for conditioning and strengthening your back without the risk of hurting your spine

i mean that i don't know why the position on OP's pic is considered not safe, i don't know much about anatomy and that looks like the natural way to push something to me

pic related is what i was told is the safe way more or less, back foot should also be horizontal i was told, but i guess the pic may be misleading as he may be just raising his foot at this point

Yes, like weighted carries, sledges are very underrated.
>Why does nobody seem to use them?
They weren't told to.

Anytime down the road has something similar. It's a wheeled cart you can load plates on. The wheels have some kind of resistance too because it's hard to push even unloaded. I might try it more often for OCR conditioning.

ops pic has strain on small muscles of shoulder
yours has strain on pectorals

I thought sleds are things you pull and prowlers are things you push

also shorter steps than that

Why go to church? Just pray in the street.
Why have a bed? Just sleep on the kitchen floor.
Why have an office? Just work from your living room.

Sometimes it is helpful to have a space to do certain things in. Not just because it is slightly better equipped, or more comfortable, but because being in that space is associated with that purpose. So a gym isn't just a place with some big weights in it; you can find heavy objects anywhere. It's a place where people go to do their exercise. It's a habit given physical form.

i dont own a car, gascuck

it counts as a functional exercise so it should be done whichever way youd do it in real life (except in real life youd have boots on and it would be raining, but you get the idea)

Sled pushes are to be done for conditioning, they are great for high intensity intervals

Woah calm down tryhard lol

Considering what it did for Conan....just sayin'

how to do HIIT sprints with these? Just push it as fast as possible? Any form specifications?

I usually do 25m pushes with lighter weight and just try and maximize speed. I skip rope in between

Put bodyweight on sled.
Push as hard as you can until failure

If you read some 5/3/1, Wendler recommends the prowler for cardio. He also recommends walking around in a weight jacket.
