What is the most alpha and Jow Forums-approved team sport to play? I never played any competitive sports and would like to start while in college. I feel like a huge dweeb hitting the gym often but not actually having any healthy competition to look for.

Either rugby union (league is for brainlets and testiclelets who can't ruck or scrum) or Ice hockey PROBABLY isn't available at your college. And if it is, probably only as a scholarship sport for guys who are actually good at it. It requires ice time and loads of equipment. Rugby requires a field, ideally a flat one, an 8 dollar mouth piece from Wal Mart, and the cheapest football or soccer cleats you can find. And probably health insurance.
Either way, you're probably going to want to do some vaguely powerlifting shit in the gym. Particularly squats. Pretty much EVERY sport is based on leg strength, but that goes double for tackle sports and ice hockey.
If you can dunk on a 10ft hoop: Basketball
If you are 5'10" or shorter: Lacrosse
If you like to chew tobacco, drink beer, and/or grab ass: Baseball
