Intermitant fasting

How do you guys implement it?
Do you also calorie restrict?
recommendations for best results?

I've been skipping breakfast,
so approx 16hr daily fasting

intermittent fasting is only a method to restrict calories or to suit particular lifestyles better. Skipping breakfast won't give you superpowers you mong

>Skipping breakfast won't give you superpowers you mong
what makes you think i thought it did.

Im interested in weight loss.
Im hitting the gym 5 days a week
just trying to figure out the diet bit.
was thinking of eating keto + intermitant fast to keep calories down...

Currently cutting on a 1500 deficit. Fasting for 20hrs, all the while doing 20min ab HIIT workout. Working out for me desu

thanks for sharing user,
i came accoss this doctor/researcher recently
says a lot of interesting stuff

>Do you also calorie restrict?
If you don't also use CICO, no diet will amount to shit.
>recommendations for best results?
Just go OMAD, combine with cardio, lose pounds like a britbong at a stripshow.

Fasting slaughters hunger cravings, which is the big reason to go for it.

Question for related thread:

is it worth doing 2 days of 16/8 intermittent fasting ON and then 2 days OFF? (then repeat)

It just makes it easier to not eat like a pig. I'm doing 1200 - 1600 calories a day and the fasting part keeps the hunger in check.
I'd recommend going straight to at least 18:6.

Attached: but why tho.gif (581x327, 3.72M)

I stopped eating by 7, and I won't eat until noon tomorrow. Its pretty easy, senpai.

I do it. The trick is having a calm mind. Like if Im getting stress-induced hunger I might eat sooner because its rare. Its no big deal to "cheat" on your schedule, you can always fast longer the next time or even if you don't, it's still your general habits that matter in the long run. Never counted cals tho, I never ate a lot naturally.

My appetite isnt that big at noon so I get to eat until 11 PM like a badass.

Rephrase your question to hear how dumb it sounds
>Is it worth skipping breakfast a couple times a week?

ok i'll try 18:6
i hate feeling hungry
at the moment i just have a black coffee for breakfast
yeah i like the idea of 2 big meals
instead of 3 skimpy meals

Do you guys also prescribe to the idea of a "metabolic window" aka "nutrient timing"?
>30min before workout, and upto 3hr after, you can have high GI carbs without the insulin effects
see study

results graphed

>OMAD
this guy has some interesting insights on OMAD
sight studies suggesting high blood glucose levels in the morning compared to 16:8
which makes sense, cos your dumping a lot more carbs to process
Also suggests possible "hormonal cascades"
>youtu.be/WVf_DlLVwmk

personally not sure i could last 23 hr every day without eating

The whole metabolic timing thing is the reason why I'm doing it. I'm getting more meat in my diet, more casein, and ensuring that the only thing I put in my body after dinner is water. When I get in the morning I just have ice water until my first meal.
I've been making some minor gains since doing all of the above.

Fuck off NPC

Lot of vague conclusions in that video.
His own conclusion on OMAD's higher morning blood glucose (slows down weight loss with spiked insulin) is contradicted by the first study he cited where OMAD lost more fat than the 3 square meals.

If you're on a fasting program you stop getting hunger cravings, combine with deficit for results. Ultimately that's all that matters, you shouldn't be cutting for so long that you consider it a "lifestyle" or consider the longterm sustainable effects.
The goal is to lose the fat, not to be losing the fat indefinitely.

For timing, I think we digest better within daylight. I think theres a traditional belief that in the afternoon we have the biggest appetite and gastric acid secretion.

I REALLY don't believe in eating 30 min before a workout. That's actually a great benefit of IF (the ability to not constantly be digesting) You risk endotoxins-related issues with this, very bad for digestive health. Unless its something hyper quick to digest like pure sugar without fiber. I do believe you can eat a lot of carbs after a good workout, not worrying about this. Just generally being active daily will make you better at using glucose, less likely to become diabetic. And of course you shouldnt eat stressed.

Iced water in the morning lmao. I mix boiled water within mine to have it slightly cold. Traditional Chinese Medicine call this perfectly balanced or Yin-Yang water.

If you want to age slower, then fast.

anyone read pic related?
after watching his video i shared here im thinking of getting it

I fast by skipping one day, then eating a 1500 calorie meal the other day. I find fasting to be easier than caloric restriction because it's easier to keep track of.

Tell me, would Adderall be good way to regulate your hunger for intermittent fasting?. Adderal/Vyvanse kill my hunger for like 5 hours, plus I'm already using it to basically cheat in college so

If you want to gain muscle, you want to eat at a calorie surplus and you're gonna gain fat. If you want to lose fat, stop eating and sip snake juice until you've lost all the fat.

Girls here do that. They eat fastfood 1 day at the mall show off their iPhones and ass. Then they starve for 3 days. They all look like an emaciated Dua Lipa.
Unless you are a literal fat fuck like bmi at 35 and such I doubt it would do anything special.
I always skip breakfast just am not hungry at all, first meal is like 11am-ish, wake up at 5:30am. Maybe it's intermittent fasting. Didn't cure my baldness.

I did OMAD for a week and went from 98.5kgs to 96.1kgs. Most of it is water weight I think because before starting I binged on a lot of salty things and carbs so my body was holding a lot of water.
I basically ate until I was full for dinner everyday. Didn't really count calories but a rough estimate would be around 1000-1500. There are days when I ate less.
Pretty good so far and I'm gonna keep this up (I'm also planning to water fast) until I reach 75kgs (Height is 183cm).

You can gain muscle and lose fat if you have a lot of fat. You just need to eat enough protein. The whole surplus to gain muscle is a meme and only applies to people with either a lot of muscle already or really low bodyfat.

Yes. Amphetamines are god tier as long as you don't go overboard which is super easy to do.

Also interesting video series if you have the time youtube.com/watch?v=YpllomiDMX0&feature=youtu.be

Easy for some people. I use them 2-3 times a week for work, but I've seen friends who think they'll be responsible then cave a couple times on 'hard days' and take them too regularly. From there it can become a spiral. EC stack is enough and even that isn't necessary to lose weight fast. lean into the hunger, we're supposed to feel hungry pretty often, it's not something to be scared of. Realize there are levels to hunger. You just think it's all equally unpleasant because you're not used to feeling it and because your mind currently equates all feelings of hunger with unpleasant and loud hunger. You should be able to feel hunger for an hour or two before it becomes a more unpleasant sensation. For IF to work you should be able to hit this level daily or maybe even the level after.

Use the second hunger like a stretch. We talk about stretching to R1 or R2 with muscles, if you can't get past hunger 1 then the problem is psychological. It's not an unpleasant feeling, it's there so you can time your meals and it leaves room for you to hunt.

I am skinny, does IF have any health benefits thats actually worth it? I already "skip" breakfast so it shouldn't be that hard for me if I get benefits.

No, the benefits are all for us fatties. You can't have any.

I do 14-20 depending on how I'm feeling with one cheat day a week.

It cleared up my acid reflux and made it really easy to stay under my cal limit.

typical fattitude kek

>he doesn't know about ketosis and autophagy

Boy oh boy didnt know literal retards were on Jow Forums

>skip breakfast
>skip lunch

easy

Easy but miserable, I can eat again in 20 hours and 30 minutes
t. just finished eating

I don't think its miserable at all, I don't even think about it, maybe I start getting hungry in the hour or so before dinner but thats normal.

For a fatty like me who is the happiest when eating, I'm feeling quite miserable even though it has been a month already

>Intermitant fasting
How do you spell it wrong when it's on the picture you're posting?

Your stomach and leptin will adjust.

>Didn't really count calories but a rough estimate would be around 1000-1500. There are days when I ate less.
That's starvation mode, you will lose all your muscle

This retard believes in starvation mode.

It takes a while for fatties to hit starvation mode.
Generally you have to be out of fuel - which is to say, not fat.

I eat from 10 to 18 with a 1900 calorie restriction (most of the times I go 1800 just to keep a buffer). That should be 0.5kg fat per week. Workout 3 times a week and I want to add some 20 min HIT on rest days. Sometimes I also do a water fast for 24 hours. There's no magic just have to keep your diet and calories low for some time.

If you're fasting yes, if you're eating at cal deficit no. Your body wont tap into the fat unless your insulin is low and your glycogen storages are emptied. If you eat at a deficit the body will react to set its tdee and the initial weight loss will be stunted.

I'm starting a fast today. If something doesn't change, or a new way revealed, I'm probably just going to starve myself to death.

Guys, how do I do it? I want to lose 13lbs but I always eat like a damn pig.

I don't know how to fucking do it. What are some shit that makes you feel full?

Don't be a little bitch and stop eating. There's no magic shortcut. Fast, IF, CICO and Sport. Otherwise you'll never make it.

this though i do 19:5 or 20:4 depending on the day, and sometimes eat less than 1200calories because im just not hungry. The thing about doing this is you get used to eating less, and sometimes you just wont feel like eating at all

you shoulr. Obviously you might lose weight but knowing and being able to control everything you eat atleasy for me makes it 10x easier

>how do
Stop eating at 8pm, break the fast at noon.
>Calorie restrict
That's the whole point. I find it easier to never start eating than to take a bite and hope I can stop eating. Hunger is less intense once the insulin clears the system.
