How come fit women are never cast in movies, especially in superhero movies?

Because the bar is set so incredibly low for women that just having photoproof of being in the gym and not being fat is the epitome of fitness. Anything above has been crabs-in-a-bucketed down to being steroids, unnatural, man-like, "Eat a sanwich sweaty" etc.

Part of it is marketing, as typical movie-going audiences prefer certain looks for actors and actresses.

The other part is that the fitness standard and the production timing of hollywood is kind of fucked. The men who get superhero roles almost always hop on gear because there is very little time between signing a contract to do the film and the time most preproduction finishes and shooting starts. This is further complicated by the fact that actors typically go from movie to movie within a short time frame, and some of those roles dont require or would be detrimented by a buff dude. To solve this, the male actors hop on gear to maximize the short training time they have, and by and large it is of little consequence.

For women, however, to maintain their aesthetic for films outside of the action genre, they cannot hop on the juice without it impacting their overall appearance and their performance (their voice becomes fucky when test flows more). Their natty muscle growth is limited by their physiology and roids can sink their career in the short term

But it's also not comparable because the male actors get juiced to the gills to get that 10 second shot of them without their shirt on. An relatively equivalent amount for women might be too much
