What's the best fighting style to learn for someone who's 6'7?
What's the best fighting style to learn for someone who's 6'7?
>6'7"
aikido should be enough for defense
Pro wrestling
Boxing/Muay thai or any striking sport in general. You will have your reach to your advantage so grappling is pretty unnecessary. Just move back and punch/kick the guy.
Just become a strongman and rip peoples limbs off.
Just learn how to punch and that's it. No one will fight you anyway. Height wins fights.
>height wins fights
lol delusional lanklet cope
inb4 manlet I'm 6'6", you're retarded if you think the average 6'7" lanky-ass söyboy with 14" arms stands any chance against a trained manlet fighter
>t. three manlets in a trench coat
dude all the guys I see my height or up are really frail and not even close to 1/2/3/4. I've only made it to an aesthetic physique with half a decade of training, the average 6'5"+ guy is fucking weak. Going out I have more respect (i.e. am more cautious) of some built stocky average height guy than some thin skeletonlord
kek
Aikido doesn't work. It's a fake ineffective martial art taught by fat non-athletes.
If you want some Japanese martial art that DOES work, Judo is what you want. It's actually used in the UFC at the competitive level.
Cope harder
Boxing/kickboxing, and learn to use that reach
tallfags are also hilariously uncoordinated, try judo throwing them just for fun, you'll be surprised at how fucking easy and stupid they look when you do
hahaha
cope with what? That I'm one of the few people at my height that are built instead of unstable&frail weaklings?
this, atleast 95% of them. The other tall strongmen lads I know are stable units though, but the average lanklet from the street is laughable
Congrat, you qualify to be this fucker
Keep saying that midget, i have learned the ultimate tallfag technique to block the manlet shoulder throw.
>step around
take that back
famed martial artist and hollywood actor stevan seagall is an aikido master
What's considered tall and not lanky?
Not him but can confirm Aikido is bullshit.
Trained in it as a teen. Idiot teaching it was literally just a fat guy and everyone he threw literally just went into a fall. It would NEVER work in the street.
However, it does teach you to roll well.
That's because of the higher Center of gravity you dumbass. It's like pushing over a shelf compared to a table. Besides that the Rest is technique.
having the proportions of a regular broad man while being tall, not looking "elongated"
Boxing. Once you get Jow Forums and learn how to box, you'll be a killing machine. Only pros would know how to take you out.
Dutch style kickboxing
i want to do bjj since theres a gym right next to my lifting gym. how does all of that work? whenever i walk by i see just a bunch of dudes sparring or whatever you call it. i dont know the first thing about the sport or how a beginner starts. can anyone inform me?
Stefan struve is 7'0. So look him up
4 years wrestling
2 years bjj/judo
3 years boxing
10 years muay thai
That's me.
The type of fighting that gives height the most advantage is in MMA. This isn't saying that the better fighter will win.
If you want to check out manlets beating tall guys, check out Zambidis in Kickboxing or Tyson in Boxing.
In Muay Thai if you're tall you can abuse.. yes I used the term "abuse" the clinch against shorter opponents.
Check out Jon Jones and other lanky tall guys in MMA, they destroy shorter opponents.
anyone that suggests anything other than boxing is a cuck basedboy
this
Cmon man just walk in and tell them exactly that, how do you think they expand their membership, it's by catering to exactly that, maybe watch some vids just to get a feel for the beginner stuff. For bjj it's called rolling by the way
fucking kek
if by "manlet fighter" you mean at least 6'1 yeah, the manlet wins. anything below 6ft gets absolutely wrecked by a 6'7 giant.
I wonder if Joe Rogan's penis tastes like Gatorade.
Yeah that's not true lanky, as much as you would like to believe it. You haven't seen many fights if you believe this. It's just ignorance.
Fucking trounced
I feel like his biggest weakness is his height though. Motherfucker wont jab even though it should be his best weapon
BJJ is one of the most noob friendly martial arts.
It's a great sport and can definitely be useful.
But for self defense I dont think it's enough.
BJJ gyms are too laid baid.
It's a bunch of pot heads and nerds that talk about a new technique, drill it a handful of times, then it's free roll for the rest of the time. Everyone takes it easy.
You should supplement BJJ with a striking style. Wether you take it as seriously as BJJ doesnt matter, you just need to spar every now and then, people need to know what its liked to get leg kicked and punched in the face.
>BJJ gyms are too laid back
this is true, great video on the topic with Joe Rogan and ex Olympic wrestler/mma fighter Ben Askren
youtu.be
Holy shit yeah Ben says it better than I could and gets more in depth.
Thanks for showing me this, Ben's word has much more weight than mine
I wish I would have got into wrestling as a kid that shit is OP.
WHy learn to fight when a 44 year old untrained dad bod boomer will literally kill you? Pic related got merked and he was a "trained fighter"
>why learn to fight
So that you dont lose a fight to a 44 year old untrained dad bod boomer.
You fucking idiot.
You posted exactly why you should learn to fight.
You proved why muscles arent enough and you need skill.
>posts a story about an untrained man dying because he lost a fight so hard
>hurr why learn to fight
Gee I dont fucking know retard.
Thst guy was in mma.
striking is really good if you're tall, so take up boxing, kickboxing, or muay thai
it doesnt really matter if you have no idea how to utilise range though because even if the manlet cant hit your head, body shots are always a thing. but if you know how to use range and keep him from reaching you, then its going to be really good for you.
a much taller opponent who knows how to use his reach is really fucking annoying
t. manlet
You're delusional
BJJ and kick boxing
You're autistic
oh boy
Dude was on cocaine or some shit, who the fuck takes a swim in a dudes pool before breaking in
krav maga as first choice for any hight. Fast to learn the basics and deadly in real life.
If you dont want that kickbox, mma, muay thay
I would stay away from simple boxing because you dont get to use those long legs you're rocking.
muay boran/lerdrit and you're pretty much set
