Why do people who want to kill themselves feel a need to announce it to other people? Not just when they're asking for methods, but even when they say they've decided to do it?
I'm going to kill myself. I'm preparing my final meal of biscuits, cream of wheat, shrimp, lifesavers gummies, a hamburger, hotdog, and fries. Why am I telling anyone? I have no one else to talk to and I don't want to make any friends or be around anyone. I just feel a need to have a final message. I want to bust a final nut too.

there is no life after death and no meaning to be found in it, you won't be relieved from suffering you just wont get to experience anything at all

Because they're still clinging on to the idea that it may not all be over, and someone will come in and tell them not to, possibly a girl

Because it's human to want to leave something behind, something to be remembered for. And what else do you have but words?

>there is no life after death
But you were dead before you were alive now.

No, you didn't exist. And once you die all that will be left of you is a meaty husk. Just like when your pet died, that's it. You go in the ground and nobody ever hears from you again

Your entire identity is just information in your neurons. People who experience cognitive decline in their old age frequently just lose their identity. Its just all meat. When your meat rots, everything is gone.

Deep down humans have a drive to survive so they're hoping someone will give them a reason to stop. And also they don't want their death to be any more pointless.

>And once you die all that will be left of you is a meaty husk. Just like when your pet died, that's it. You go in the ground and nobody ever hears from you again

And you know this somehow even though you claim to have never been dead before?

The tooth fairy only comes when you're sleeping so you can't prove he doesn't exist.

Your way of looking at the world is nihilistic. So many obvious nonsensical conclusions would have to be accepted as irrefutable.

because people like to blog post.

Butthole has spoken

Prove it doesn't? It's far more likely that once electrical activity in your brain stops, there's nothing left but your body. It is far less reasonable to imagine that there is some abstract collection of data that doesn't exist during a person's lifetime and yet somehow preserves all their memories and gives them a new form in a different plane of existence that you don't have any proof of either.
I know the idea that things will get better after you die is comfortable, but the real world is not a comfortable place.

If you've supposedly never been dead before then how can you speak in absolutes of what happens to you when you die? You only think that's what death is because that's what everyone has told you it is and you refuse to see past the physical nature of the universe.
>Your way of looking at the world is nihilistic
Do you know what that word means? I'm not suggesting that I don't believe in life or death but rather that I don't think you understand the relationship between the two. Life and death are a cycle just like anything else in nature. How would you know for sure that you're alive now unless you had been dead before?

For attention and or sympathy.

even if they're 100 percent serious being in the spotlight is nice I imagine

It's a cry for help, even if they do want to go through with it, subconsciously (mybe) their self preservation mechanisms are trying to prevent them from going through with it.

It's a cry for help. If nobody answers it then you can be certain that nobody truly cares.

>It's far more likely
>It is far less reasonable
Interesting use of language there. Why is one more or less likely than the other? Do you believe you don't have a spirit simply because another explanation is easier for you to grasp? That is not a determiner of truth.
>I know the idea that things will get better after you die is comfortable, but the real world is not a comfortable place.
I'm not saying things get better and I'm certainly not implying the world is comfortable. What I'm saying is just how it is that there is Death in Life there is also Life in Death.

this, also the cry for attention. just look at the statistics for people with a broken family, no freinds and no one to relate too
>I just feel a need to have a final message.
ask yourself the same thing in your first sentance, why? you could have gone in silence, not created this thread and acording to you it'd have the same effects. or would you be rationally talked out of it? i mean shit your giving yourself an out here.

>you won't be relieved from suffering you just wont get to experience anything at all
yeah, so you WILL be relieved from suffering you stupid retard

There is existence after death. If you don't believe it yet, you will. And you'll gonna regret it deeply if you hurt yourself.

Because of this nifty little thing called Occam's Razor, mate.

Because I just like to talk about it. Normalise it.
