If frequency is number 1 key for gains, why can I only progress on deadlift if I limit it to once per week?

Because it batters your CNS which needs more time to rest

mass and strength gains are different

Add rack pulls for additional volume.

>If frequency is number 1 key for gains
this isn't true though. Volume > Frequency.

Ive done high volume deads twice a week (low intensity) and ive gotten really good gians on it.
No wonder one of the strongest DLers (george leeman) uses high volume

So how do oly lifters hit cleans/snatches every day?
>implying roids help your cns recover

They don't do so to their 1rm every day

Your weak DYEL CNS will crumble obvs
>what is the point of rest & programming

Lighter weight to work on the mechanics of the lift. Oly lifts are a lot about the movement/form.

volume is number 1 key, anyway who cares, you are a lost case already

because they don't have an eccentric part, you literally just drop the bar. it's the eccentric part of deadlifts (lowering the bar) that fries your CNS. if you drop the bar after each rep, you can deadlift every day.

Its true. I'm still a noob but when i first started lifting, i had to go home and nap after deadlifting. Now that happens way way less.

>If frequency is number 1 key for gains
It isn't
>why can I only progress on deadlift if I limit it to once per week?
You can deadlift more than a week though.

No I cant

I deadlift 185kg x 5 three days ago, today I tried again and 180kg was my 1RM today.

I deadlift normally once every 7 days at most

Because you’re programming is shit and you’re doing close to maximal efforts not doing deadlift assistance exercises. I do competition deadlift once a week but on another day I do 6 sets of 8 stiff legged deadlifts and on another day barbell row myoreps.

Get the best of both worlds. Do high volume (lower weight) and low volume (heavy weight) routines.

you do realize you can also deadlift in the lower percentages it does not always has to be this close to 1rm also just do a variant for example deficit deadlifts who intrinsically are sub maximal and still let you practice the movement

That's because you are stupid, I didn't say you DL as frequently as you want for, at whatever weight you think you can for whatever long you want.

kinda this desu

Diddlies are very fucking taxing on the body. I can go to the gym almost everyday, but the day after deadlifts, I'm fried and have to take a day off at least. When I first started doing them I made the huge mistake of deadlifting like three times a week and my back was JUSTed for a month. I literally couldn't tie my shoelaces. Now I do them once a week at MOST and always add some weight each time and my lower back is fine.

Because deadlift is very heavy and more taxing on the body as a system than the other lifts, and maybe you just suck at recovering.
They’re different movements you pleb. Oly lifters rarely if ever deadlift because a maximal deadlift session for a very strong lifter will have their pulling power suffer for weeks or even months. Cleans and snatches are highly submaximal pulls, so they don’t tax the body in the same way. Also doing light oly work is extremely beneficial to the technique of the lifts, and light deadlift work is not nearly as useful.
U wot m8

Frequency allowd you to squeeze more volume in

Intensity frequency and volume all have to be managed.

Deadlifting can be done everyday, especially with novices
But you are better off doing variations like trap bar and behind the back which are less taxing on lower back than conventional or sumo.

T. 5plate deadlifter, gonna dl 6 by end of this year if i dont snap

(i dont dl everyday, it taxes cns too much)

we have an expert broscientist here lads

Lighter weights at faster speeds done with more muscles, it isn't exatcly a 1:1 ratio.

You can deadlift more than once a week you just can't max out.

Broscience
You can do slow descent on deadlift, and touch and go deadlifts actually emphasize on that

If your logic was true it would be easier to do 5 singles dropping the bar on the ground, meanwhile with touch and go i can do like 30% more reps at same weight, while controlling weight on way up and down

You mean bouncing the weight like a fuccboi?

I mean controlling the weight with pause at bottom you clown
Aka what Ed Coan recommends
