Long cardio workouts like cycling 1-2h at 160 bpm works for me.
Running sucks as running 1-2h multiple times per week results in unreasonable amounts of pain.
I can keep this pace for 6-8h assuming I consume 800-1000 kcal/h during the workout.
After a certain time your body will start to shut down, that is a sign you ran out of carbs and need to refuel ASAP.
HFCS is unironicly good in this situation, it goes fast into your bloodstream and since your blood-sugar is near zero anyway, your glycogen storage is empty and you burn >1000 kcal/h, you don't get the insulin-spike.
NEVER try cardio during a fast or keto, it is hell.
Carbs are the only energy source your body can process fast enough.

HIIT alone sucks for building cardiovascular endurance. Build up your cardio by going on long runs 2-3 times a week, progressively increasing your mileage, then once you've got a solid base, add in hiit/hill sprints to improve your power output. The same principles apply to all cardiovascular activities
