Are artificial sweeteners really that bad?
What's a good substitute?
Are artificial sweeteners really that bad?
Using nothing at all, fatty.
Yes.
Sugar or not eating/drinking something sweet at all
You faggots really have coffee and tea without nothing to sweeten it?
>good substitute
>sugar
Coffee and tea is meant to be taken without sweeteners ... if you add sugar to coffee or tea you are retarded
>good substitute
>sugar
Yes, your body can process sugar whereas it cannot process sweeteners. Just acknowledge the fact that you'll crave sweet and work your nutrition around it. Low amounts of sugar are much better for you than sweeteners.
Maybe a little bit of milk or oat drink. Why do you even want to drink them if you don't like them? Trying to prove something? Want to jump into the substitute abuse train? Off yourself.
You're too much of a pansy to drink black coffee/tea?
There is literally nothing wrong with artificial sweeteners when taken in moderation.
except cancer
There is literally nothing wrong with eating cardboard when eaten in moderation, but you wouldn't eat cardboard. Sweeteners have no nutritional value just like cardboard.
dextrose
They make healthy food eatable which other wise wouldn't be possible to eat without wanting kill myself
Yeah, and the moderation in this case means 0.
I like them, but I know they're not good for you
Yes, but I may as well suffer for 2 or 3 weeks to get used to it
Please, go eat everything without sweeteners. Seems like it would do the world a favor.
Fucking Americans man. Their tastebuds are beyond repair
MUH I WANT SWEET ZHINGS BUT I DONT WANT THE EFFECT SWEET THINGS HAVE
FUCK UUUUUUUUUUU-
and fuck ppl that drink decaf if you dont want cofee dont frink cofee what the fuck is wrong with you
Do you also want movies with outa story OF COURSE U dont that would be retarded things that taste sweet sgould affect you in the way that swet things always hAve yxou disgusting monGoLoid
I may have gotten carried away but wanting sweet things that dont have sugar really is retarded and akin to wanting music but without rythem
Anything with an artificial sweetener in is not healthy. Give one example of a food that needs a sweetener in it to make it eatable.
Your taste buds change over time with the food you eat. So stop being a faggot or kill yourself.
You poor confused person have a basic guide to spices
>what’s a good substitute?
Being an adult
If a fat person replaced all their regular soda with coke zero/diet sodas would they lose weight?
Your definition of healthy food must be fucked. Meat and eggs don’t require sweeteners
I always thought decaf coffee was retarded too. When I was fat. Now i’ll keep decaf on hand to drink late at night instead of snacking
Taken black of course
Fat people already do this. Hamberlynn Feed is addicted to Diet Coke and is still expanding after hitting 560lbs
>You faggots really have coffee and tea without nothing to sweeten it?
the absolute fucking state of americans
i put butter in sometimes
Type 1 here, did a fair bit of actual research (not reading blogs) on this a while back
The reality is that most sweeteners, sugar included, are fine in moderation. Some, like aspartame, are made using things like Phenylalanine which cause major reactions in a tiny % of the population but otherwise are almost completely safe in low doses. Sugar alcohols in particular are fairly well tolerated (though some make you shit) and are considered fairly natural since they still mostly tend to come from things like Birch Bark and Cabbage Strains in commercial production
Many are absorbed AFTER the gut though, so beware you're not ingesting more calories and carbs than you realise
>Are artificial sweeteners really that bad?
No, unless you're one of the rare exceptions with problems from Phenylalanine or doing something exceptionally retarded they're just sugar alcohols, and on the whole WAY better for you than sugar
>What's a good substitute?
Erythritol was always my favourite as it's relatively cheap and truly calorie free
Several types of tea are meant to be sweetened, don't be dense
>whereas it cannot process sweeteners
Pure nonsense. Many sweeteners and even sugar alcohols are completely digested
>Low amounts of sugar are much better for you than sweeteners
Also generalised nonsense. It entirely depends on your goals and in most cases (specifically losing weight) low or no calorie sweeteners are almost always the best option
(You)
>Sweeteners have no nutritional value just like cardboard.
Most do. Some don't. Not only is this generally untrue but it misses the point to the point of autistic edginess- you use sweeteners to sweeten food and drink, not get calories or nutrients
Only if the resulting loss in accumulative calories put them below TDEE. Most diet and zero drinks are zero calories so it's a fantastic early step
+1
It's also good for cycling off coffee
Big Sugar obviously funds studies to make sugar substitutes look bad
Nah its just that sugar in small quantity is actually healthy. Fructose has necessary functions, one that is anti-cancer. So people nowadays are overly scared of it by aiming for a 0g intake. Sure, fruits and honey are better (or even maple syrup which isnt bad in coffee) but theres no reason to replace it with artificial sweeteners. Protip if you need them that much, the food your eating isnt healthy anyway.
Incoming autistic spergouts in 3..2..1..
This guy knows.
Stop falling for the (((sugar))) meme. Most people think artificial sweeteners are bad and don't realize the sugar industry is doing the same thing here as they did back then with fat.
It is the vegetable oil industry that did propaganda against saturated fat. But it is clear in scientific data that an excess of fat intake, no matter its composition, is detrimental. For instance by increasing deposits of fat to the liver, which has so many consequences including hormonal ones. High fat intake also decreases metabolism so you become technically hypothyroid, less intelligent and fit.
The veg oils (like those in every processed and fast food in America, but hey lets exclusively blame sugar !) are just way more detrimental than say butter, olive oil, cheese/cream, beef tallow and coconut oil.
>High fat intake also decreases metabolism
which can be desirable to some of us
Hm yeah that's true. Usually our macros should vary depending on seasons. I think a bit higher fat is needed during winter, while getting plenty of sun and outdoor physical activity during summers lowers stress and makes it easy to be able to fuel on carbs without gaining fat (at least in my case).
that's a generalisation. what i meant was that our bodies don't all behave the same way. for example, i can't gain fat no matter what and will lose mass in a matter of days if i let my heavy diet slip.
i don't exactly have a sweet tooth, but i can't stand artificial sweeteners and hate the fact the UK forces me to pay more for wanting something natural, implying i'm a fat cunt.
I mostly use a single packet of splenda with my coffee 1 to 2 times a day and if I'm having diet yogurt, well, I consume whatever that has.
I've been a fatass most of my life and I have consumed many different kinds of sweeteners and I have never had a single side effect other than not being more of a fatass for not consuming processed sugar.
It's surprising to actually see good advice in this board.
>Not only is this generally untrue
Except most of them are non-caloric, how is this untrue? All the most common sweeteners have no nutritional value.
Sweet = Unhealthy, if you crave sweet all the time it's your cravings which are the problem not the food or drink, when I crave sweet I drink a can of coke then avoid excess sugars after it, I don't delude myself into thinking fake sugar is good for me or a necessary evil.
Ever wonder why you never see thin people drinking diet drinks?

basado y rojoencapsulado
maybe stop drinking soda, avoid sweets, avoid anything with sugar in it, and stop poisoning your body with shit. sugar is fine in a very moderate amount, but most people consume a sickening amount of it anyways.
I just want one or two sweetener packet with my coffee twice a day. I don't do any of the other shit.
Just use sugar. You really think a few tablespoons of sugar is the difference between you and weight loss? Just eat less.
3 tablespoons sugar = 37.5g
1g sugar = 3.87 cals
37.5g sugar = 145.125 cals
shockingly it's fucking nothing. not who you replied to but i still avoid it personally
One or two - twice a day. So up to four packets a day. I don’t think artificial sweeteners are bad but that’s still a little much. Try ONE packet per coffee. Honestly any more must be overly strong af.
Just put a splash of milk in your coffee. Nice macro profile and takes the edge off of cheap bitter wageslave brew.

>no one said stevia yet
what the fuck?
stevia is made from a plant, its natural and much sweeter than sugar, 0kcals.
gross.
ure momma disagrees
>sugar is fine in moderation
>sweeteners are a healthier substitute
