You gain 3-5lbs of muscle in a year if you're a newbie.

You can if you're starting from untrained, train right, have good macros and get enough sleep.

If you're 16 years old and unironically doing SS+GOMAD you might gain that much but it will all be in your thighs. For a normal 20+ year old male that number is way out of reach.

I went from 145 to 180 last year and didn't gain more than a couple percent fat, abs look the same. If you're skinny when starting you can easily do 20-30 lbs in a year

Yes, that's a ton. Muscle gains aren't linear, though. You might gain that for the first 10 to 12 months but after that, you're looking at gaining maybe half that for your second year and then seeing a huge drop off for the third year and beyond.

Its a meme, newbie gains can be massive depending on your starting point, If you're actually starving and literal auschwitz mode you can gain about 80% of your body weight in muscle in 3-6 months. Muscle gains exponentially slow down though, until they stop completely.

I gained 11Kg of lean mass (LEAN MASS, not just "muscle" in 12 months. Plus 3Kg of fat.

And i was super ultra skinny. And i burst my ass. I went from 77Kg to 92Kg. At 186cm.

Started lifting back in September at ~150 lbs., weighed the other day and I'm ~170 lbs. Yet I don't look any fatter, any skinnier, or any more muscular. Literally not sure what's happening.

Probably true. It's odd, I started with little muscle mass yet no visible abs. At 150. lbs and 6 feet I was simultaneously skinny and fat at the same time. Fucked around until January and jumped on Greyskull, not really counting calories just making sure to get about 170 grams of protein daily.

Sucks that my body doesn't look any different. Visible aesthetic changes would go a long way psychologically for a novice lifter.

Since we're talking about fat versus muscle, can someone explain what (if any) results I can see from lifting 4 days a week w/ cardio and eating at or below maintenance with ample protein with intermittent fasting 3-4 times per week.

Depends. If you're a novice-early intermediate it should be possible to progress on your lifts until you plateau, even when on a cut. I can confirm this as a mid-intermediate since I've basically stalled on every single lift while doing ADF.
